About the author

Hans Christian Adam studied psychology, art history and communication studies in Göttingen and Vienna. As a specialist in historical pictorial material, he has published numerous articles and books, including titles on travel and war photography. He is the author of TASCHEN’s Edward Sheriff Curtis: The North American Indian, Karl Blossfeldt, Eugène Atget: Paris and Berlin.

5 stars. A great (and very heavy) coffee table book with hundreds of historic photos of Berlin - architecture, historic events, people, daily life - and accentuated with a variety of quotes, memories and background information (in German, English and French). It conveys the atmosphere really well and lets you dive into the past.

After years of deliberating I finally decided to donate this great book to a library so that others can enjoy it too (and obivously I can borrow it again as well).

Offert par mon cher et tendre qui sait à quel point j'adore Berlin.

La triple traduction français/allemand/anglais a l'avantage de vous faire bosser les langues mais ajoute au poids canonique du livre.

Photos magnifiques mais avant tout du Berlin d'avant guerre et de l'après-guerre immédiat. Dommage!
