Meg hadn't expected Aunt Nikki to come to her party because she had been on a scientific dig in Sweden. Her aunt was an archaeologist and she went on all sorts of adventures for her job. Meg wanted to be just like her when she grew up.
This is a very typical "coming into powers" story with a little middle school drama thrown in. I was glad Meg decided to be helpful in the end, but don't like that she is keeping secrets from everyone, that is how heroes become villains.
No content issues; Meg's father is not currently a part of the household, but we don't know if he is separated from the family because of work or something, or if they are divorced.
