Mother of God is a stunning thriller blending high-octane excitement with the terrifying edge of scientific discovery.
Such a long story. I figured out the ending from the very beginning. It doesn't really worth it to be read. Nevertheless, for the year that it had been written, it has a clever scenario. But again doesn't really say much about artificial intelligence🤖 and doesn't explain many things, such as the reason why the killer followed its rules? It, sometimes, also get me confused🤔 with all these people and the action.
I've never read anything by this author before, but I'm on the lookout now. It's rare to find a good story that also includes a credible computer component. Mother of God is a story about artificial intelligence, neural networks and a serial killer. He pulls it all together and takes the reader along for a fine ride. (reviewed in 1996)
A good, entertaining read... though, from the description of the female characters, you can most definitely tell it is written by a man. Other than that, pretty good!
Ambrose si cimenta con l'affascinante tema dell'intelligenza artificiale, ma lo inserisce nella solita banale storia di serial killer, quindi esito scontato e piuttosto deludente.
Getting to the bottom of the pile from my Dad. An older book - I think from 1996 or something like that. My curiosity about where this story was going kept me reading, but the writing was a bit dry and he couldn't seem to figure out how, exactly, he wanted to narrate the story. Then the story took a really interesting twist and I was kind of excited about the end, which then really, really disappointed me. It's too bad, he could have made this story much better. I'd steer clear if I were you.
This novel was about an artificial intelligence getting loose and causing trouble. While I do find it mildly annoying to read tech books that are even 5-10 years old (due to antiquated language, old technology, etc.) this one wasn't bad. And I always enjoy Ambrose's books. So overall, a pretty good read.
I was going to go with three stars. The book was alright, it had its flaws, was rather predictable at parts. ...but I'm such a sucker for stories with A.I's in them. Also that ending. I really liked the ending. So it gets four. Or 3.5 if I could give it that. I just really really like robots and A.I alright?
