All work and no play… Life is now very different for Jill Gooder, P.I. and witch extraordinaire. But some things never change – Winky for example. …leaves no time for custard creams.
It is now a year on. Everything has gone Jill's way but the events to come will certainly test her.
I don't want to give too much away but Jill has encounters in CASS with a thief on the loose, Ghost Town to visit family, Candlefield to rescue someone, murder mixed up with a wedding and cat show.
Best to read the books in order but the cases are resolved within the story, so could be read on it's own, but the characters development has been gradual through previous stories.
It is a right mix and Jill is dashing around here and there.
The story has a wonderful flow to it that makes it a gentle read. The characters are all quite developed which makes opening the window to their world very easy. The story shines from the pages and has some fantastic wit thrown in. Couldn't put this one down. Fabulous read.
Entertaining urban fantasy mystery series. A great cast of characters and a fun and entertaining storyline. A young woman who is a private investigator in the human world was raised by adoptive parents with her adoptive family. She runs a private investigator firm left her by her father who raised her and has passed away. She meets her birth mother on her deathbed and her mother passing along the information that she is actually a witch. Gives her her grimoire spell book and then passes away. Now she works in the human world as well as in the supernatural world where she has other members of her birth family an aunt a grandmother and two cousins. Follow along as she solves mysteries murders and other crimes in both places. And entertaining and eclectic mix of storylines and characters. Check it out
The book starts out with a re-cap of what happened in the first 24 books in the series. The events in this book take place a year later. Jules is no longer working in the office and Mrs. V has latched on to Feng Shui. Winky is still around. Jack and Jill plan to get married.
Something has happened to Hamlet and the dog has made a decision about his modeling career. There's a strange creature in the girls CASS dorm, there's missing gold, Ivers is till there, Ma Chivers is back, there's another murder and a cat show.
It's pretty much business as usual for Jill. I do like the reason Winky got the result he did in the cat show, though.
Dear Adele, another entertaining and wonderful story in the series. Jill certainly has her hands full with all the twists and turns of the plot lines. It's very interesting how you weave your story. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I highly recommend reading this series to anyone interested in reading a good story. Thanks for the entertainment.
I love this series, and recommend it to everyone!! Yes, every single one of them! You will see growth in all of the characters (well, maybe not grandma). :) Jill learning her way through her role as witch, private investigator, animal caretaker, cousin, granddaughter, girlfriend, and now wife...shows her uniqueness and quirkiness. Start at the beginning and by the end, you will love them as much as I do!
I love the Witch PI series and season 3 is off to a great start! In this book, Jill has a few mysteries to solve all the while prepping for her upcoming wedding. We get caught up with what has happened over the course of a year and we get to meet some of Jill and Jack’s new and one not so “new” neighbors. I definitely enjoyed this book but hate how it always leaves me hungry for blueberry muffins. Looking forward to the next one!
Another sonderful story and a lovely start to part part 3. Even with the wedding fast approaching Jill has her hands full. Hopefully in this set Jill truly gets her P.I. on and starts to turn a profit. The wedding had me worried but Adele did brilliantly in not going the disaster route. I look forward to the rest of the series.
The only thing keeping me from giving this one 5 stars is that I was disappointed in the year time jump from the last book. I wanted to see Jack's reaction to Jill's big reveal. Otherwise, I think this is the best so far in the series. The transitions seemed more fluid and the assorted plot lines came together well.
Okay, that’s stealing from the ending which tells you it’s a good one, as is the entire book. Jill had fewer mysteries to solve in this book, but after all she had a wedding going on. Still she managed to solve a murder, figure out who had been stealing gold at CASS and save a friend from imminent death.
Loved book #25 in the Witch P.I. Mysteries. Never a dull moment in Jills life . Between the Sup town she goes to ,the witch school she teaches part time at ,the ghost town she goes to and the P.I. Business she tuns in the human world ,her life is very busy. And there’s more to come in book #26 and beyond!
I have read a number of books in this (Witch P.I. Mystery) series. I strayed for a bit and recently picked them up again because they are very enjoyable and fast reads. Adele Abbott just lets the words flow and once you become familiar with the unusual and rhymed-named characters, it really quite a treat to read.
I bought the first of these books as a light hearted silly funny read and now I’m engrossed in Jill and Jack, amber and pearl, daze and blaze, even Mr Ivers, fun books to read, have already pre ordered the next one
What could possibly go wrong? In Jill's world, anything. A mysterious critter to identify, ghosts to seat and a cat that wants to be in the wedding! It is hysterical, as usual.
Never a ...... Ahhh little man is a confirmed bachelor anyway...... Patterns good disappearing solving murders and get me to the church on time. What a horrible road block
Witch is How Things Had Changed (A Witch P.I.Mystery Book 25)
This was an excellent book and I would recommend this book to any one who wants an excellent read.I look forward to reading more of this author's work.
Absolutely wonderful characters that interact with each other beautiful! Fabulous plot twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend this series.
