About the author

Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.

Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO－ナルト－), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.

My first thoughts after introducing Tsunade: Wow finally a strong female!
My second thoughts during the battle: Wow she might have been killed by Orochimaru's APPRENTICE!! So much for a strong female lead!

عالی!

Tsunade gets more time to showcase her strengths--and assets. She serves as a great catalyst for Naruto's training and her role in this story arc brings us to a huge battle that didn't deliver the same gravitas as the one we got between Naruto and Gaara, for example.

I still fully despise Kabuto and hope they stop giving him so much power soon. I look forward to where Konoha will be heading from now on.

Yours truly,

another great volume. i loved this.

The battle of the monsters, and the fulfillment of Tsunade's bet with Naruto.

It was cute and wild, but honestly, I liked the anime version of this sequence much better. That much big fighting, big battle deserves a good fleshing out that we just couldn't see in such a short manga. It's kinda like the battle with Shukaku. The scale is pretty damn impressive, as are the stakes.

And yet, through it all, I gotta give props to Naruto for fulfilling his nindo.

Loving this series so much ! I can't stop !

Never expected this Tsunade character to be so good ! Cheers for the 5th hokage !
All characters' background stories are so inspiring ! Keep fighting Naruto !

Hoping for more Uchiha Itachi scenes !

Well, this was good. I like when we get a hint at the characters past. That fight was good though. Another good volume.

7/10 stars

Tsunade turns out to be more than just big boobs and a sad past, which was a very welcome change from the usual female characters in Naruto. She still had some weird weaknesses such as hemophobia (really? a military grade medic with a hemophobia?) but at least it was used to showcase her growth.

Naruto finally masters rasengan, and it was very satisfying to see who was hit with it first ;). Though actually, I find Kabuto one of the more interesting characters in this manga - he's ambiguous, ambitious and smart, ruthless but also constrained in his destructive impulses, and he's more than just a raving villain like Orochimaru.

Also, Jiraya is cool. Fallible, pervy, in general very much the personification of the Drunken Master trope - though this time, it's not alcohol but boobs ;). That said, though, he's also smart, capable, laid back, and, most importantly, empathetic. Just the type of mentor Naruto needs :).

Lesson: Unity is strength 👍👍

This volume opens with Tsunade's decision and continues with the fight between the 3 sages plus Shizune, Naruto and Kabuto. Who will win?

Este es un Arco poco valorado por los fans, pero esa pelea entre los legendarios Sannin es demasiado pro. Mis respetos para kabuto 😃😃😃

Nah, Not so much good. I was yawning while reading this. There was an all out battle between three of the most powerful ninjas but what I found was a lackluster battle with particularly a predictable outcome. Naruto's strength is increasing day-by-day. Is he the successor? The future Hokage?

Lleno de acción y algún que otro momento emotivo. Una historia muy completa y real como la vida misma.

"El talento ninja mas importante no es el numero de tecnicas que use , lo importante es un espíritu que nunca se rinda ´´-Jiraiya

We pick up right where we left off in the last volume but things get messy. Tsunade, Orochimaru, and Kabuto go head to head. Thankfully Naruto, Jiraiya, and Shizune show up just in the nick of time. The Legendary Three are reunited but not the way they had hoped. Also Naruto proves to Tsunade that to be a shinobi is to never give up!! GOD I LOVE THIS MANGA!!!!

3 stars *may change
considering the fact that they're the infamous three ninjas, they suck!

Iconic fight. The anime might be better here, but I haven't fully decided. Sometimes short but sweet is better. But sometimes a longer duel is needed.

Definitely a fan of the mighty Tsunade

Kabuto is a tool. And Orochimaru is still a freak. I hate it when he does that thing where a snake head wielding a sword comes out of his mouth. It is soooooooo wrong.

Kishimoto-san's little essays about his path to becoming a published mangaka make me feel like he has a lot in common with Naruto. I kind of picture him reading all the script-writing books and watching films and drawing storyboards and saying, "it's my mangaka way!"

I love Naruto’s guts 💪❤️
