A Penguin Young Reader based on an episode of Llama Llama's animated Netflix television series, perfect for celebrating Valentine's Day!
Look out, world--Llama Llama is a TV star! The beloved character, made famous by Anna Dewdney's best-selling picture books, is the star of his own original series, now airing on Netflix. This episode-based Penguin Young Reader tells the story of Llama and his classmates learning to say "I love you!" on Valentine's Day by creating unique gifts to give to the llamas (and goats, and zebras...) they care about most. It's the perfect book to read aloud with your little ones to celebrate the holiday of love!
Anna Dewdney was an award-winning children's-book author, illustrator, teacher, mother, and enthusiastic proponent of literacy and reading aloud to children. She was the author of the bestselling Llama Llama Red Pajama series of picturebooks, among many others. She lived with her partner Reed Duncan in Vermont where she worked, gardened, and spent time with her daughters and dogs.
This is a young readers beginning book. This book uses very basic site words that students beginning to read should know. The book has large font which also will help the reader. It has smaller pictures because the words take up most of the page. This is a book based off a show on netflix which students may have watched so while reading this book they might already know what has happened.
A sweet story overall about friends in a class all finding a talent within to make and share crafts at a Valentine's party. But I miss the simple characters and rhyming text of Anna Dewdney's originals.
I had a hard time finding a Valentine's book to read with my kindergartners that wasn't about romantic love. This book was about a school Valentine's celebration and making gifts using your creativity to show your friends you care for them. That totally fit the bill for a read aloud!
Llama Llama helps his friend Gilroy make something special for their classmates for Valentine's Day. The whole time I was reading this I expected the words to rhyme. :(
Cute little book to read with the kids in your life or your class I’d your a teacher. Good lesson in it. Love all the llama books. Perfect for Valentine’s Day.
