Book is a good introduction to multimodal design. I do find it requiring a bit of editing: it reads a bit too much as a list of definitions in book form, and that makes it hard to understand how to apply this knowledge in practice.

I had never heard the term Multimodal before reading this book, which worked out well for me because it became easy to equate the subjects the authors were trying to get across with my experience sensing interfaces. From a design perspective (a term that's probably 20 feet tall in my word cloud) I now have context for multimodal design in my syntax, and for that, this book was a valuable read. I doubt, however, that if you're already involved in UX design work, that this book will impart some of its promised processes and methodologies for multimodal product design, development, and release on to a knowledgeable person who is well versed in these problems. Again, however, I come from a place where this is NOT common conjecture. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
