Ping Pong Pig
The animals of Apple Tree Farm just don't know what to do with Ping Pong Pig. He's far too busy learning to fly to help with any of the farmyard chores, and he keeps making such a mess! Then they have an idea - they make Ping Pong a trampoline! Surely now there will be no more trouble from Ping Pong - will there?

I had read this before and used it for a program. I remember a teacher laughing out loud.
It was a bit much for my story time, but the children sat through it. They seemed to like the alliteration.

Used in Preshool Story Time, but am getting a younger crowd so might need to get some younger books.

I loved this. The story is really cute, and besides being one determined little pig, Ping Pong is adorable!

All of the animals at Apple Tree Farm are busy doing their daily chores . . . except Ping Pong Pig. He’s busy jumping and leaping, trying to fly. And all his jumping around is creating havoc. The other animals decide that they must do something and they call a meeting. They spend a long time in the barn and when they finally come out, they’ve made something for Ping Pong Pig.

This delightfully zany book will captivate young readers as they follow Ping Pong Pig and discover the lesson he learns.

The only real positive I have about this book is that it has a little humor in it (the last 2 pages were cute). It also had a bit of a moral that helping out makes everyone, including you, happy.
There was really not much of a plot and the story was pretty weak. While the moral was good, it didn't come across as well, because you didn't think that Pig was real unhappy by himself. I just didn't get hooked at all to this story, and my daughter didn't seem particularly attached either.

Pig wants to fly and the other animals keep telling him pigs can't fly. For some reason they construct him a trampoline (to keep him away from them, I imagine) and he uses it. Not a great book by any means. It actually seems a little like a story about an outcast pig that is a little different, that never really ends up being accepted by the other animals, even when he does their work for them. A bit of a downer in a way.

Recommended read aloud for ages 6-8 by University of Minnesota. The was a 'meh" story about a pig that likes to jump and try and fly. His friends try to help him be constructive. He learns but it fails in the end. It is supposed to make you laugh I suppose but I just went "meh".

Love Church board books. This was whimsical and silly and had a good lesson at the end. Perfect for kids who have big dreams and aren't always down to earth. Teagan liked but would appreciate more when older maybe.

I liked this one! The pictures were simple but expressive & eye catching, Ping Pong had great friends who worked hard & because he was blessed by them, Ping Pong decided to help in return 😊

In fact he makes more for the other animals. In his attempts to fly, he destroys the orchard, the barns new pint job, the bee hives, and the hayricks. The other animals decide something must me done. They give Ping Pong Pig a trampoline and tell him to stay out of their way. To their surprise, he uses their gift to fix all the things he broke.
What I thought: What a cute book! Ping Pong Pig reminds me of a small incorrigible boy. This would be a great book to use to introduce kids to the concepts of responsibility and consequences. I like the simplicity of the animal drawings.

This book was so cute. The illustrations were charming and full of life. Ping Pong Pig was especially buoyant throughout the book and I did like how much his friends cared about him. I was expecting this book to be more lackadaisical in nature, but I was pleasantly surprised by the change of Ping Pong’s heart and his effort to give back. I was a definitely a fan of the subtle message in this book; the book was playful, but also managed to show children should reciprocate nice actions to others. I’d definitely recommend this book.

Ping Pong Pig wants to fly, but he doesn't like to work around the farm like all the other animals. His attempts at flying end up causing more work for the other animals. Finally, they get together and build him a trampoline so he can practice flying alone in the corner of the farm away from all the work. Ping Pong has so much fun on his trampoline that he decides to use it to help out around the farm. He picks apples, catches bees, and paints the barn. And when he's done, he jumps from the tallest tree, bounces on the trampoline, flies over the barn, and splashes into the pond where he discovers even fish can fly!

A story of friendship and teamwork, Ping Pong Pig is an extremely entertaining book that children love to read along with. Providing a moral lesson, readers can see that the lighthearted pig was too busy with his own fun to help out the others with chores, leaving him with some humorous consequences! Children and parents will read this through again and again, laughing and loving the playful Ping Pong Pig!

Suspenseful page-turner for me, as I anticipated the introduction of table tennis imagery or allusions. There was none. I appreciate the alliterative pleasures of naming the pig thusly, but it is irresponsible and/or sloppy to do so willy nilly, without making the slightest reference to the game. Maybe one of the animals could have held a paddle and have tried to hit the pig. I'm just thinking out loud. I'm sorry but I didn't even find the cartoony pictures endearing, nor did I appreciate the awkward pacing, nor alas the agrarian context -- a weak veneer, so you pretty much lost me here.

Ping Pong Pig spends his days dreaming he can fly, rather than helping the other animals work on the farm. When his constant flying practice disrupts the farm, the animals gather together and provide Ping Pong with a trampoline in an attempt to keep him out of their way. Ping Pong is appreciative and decides to give back...and ends up making quite a "splash"!

All of the farm animals have jobs to do and keep busy all day--but Ping Pong Pig is too busy trying to fly. His attempts make messes for the other animals, so they call a big meeting and build a trampoline for him. Ping Pong Pig has a GREAT time jumping on his trampoline and even uses it to help fix some of the messes he's made.

I love Caroline Jayne Church. Her illustrations are cute without being overly cutesy. In this story, a pig desperately wants to fly so he spends all of his time practicing. His friends try to tell him pigs can't fly, but Ping Pong doesn't listen. The story resolves itself in a delightful manner...although it did leave me wondering what Ping Pong was going to do next. I can't wait to try it out in storytime soon...

cute illustrations of barnyard animals. Ping Pong the pig just wants to fly, instead of help out with chores on the farm. Instead of being angry at him, the other animals just create a way that ping pong can fly without making more messes. Cute.

Cute book. The pig is just so darn cute. I want one! He wants to fly while all his friends are doing all the chores on the farm. He learns that he can fly with a little help from his friends. While he is flying he can also help out with the chores. It's all good.

Such a fun picture book about friendship and working together. Ping Pong Pig loves to leap, jump, and bounce all over Apple Tree Farm. He is far too busy having fun all day to help with the chores. Soon he lands into a big mess, and he's up to his ears in trouble. Fun book with great illustratons!

This is a fun picture book about a troublesome pig whose crazy escapades trying to fly only make his friends on the farm try to find ways to amuse him to keep him out of the way. The illustrations are really fun and the humorous story made this one of my child's favorites.

Adorable story about farm animals who become frustrated with the slacker in the group. They come up with a plan to keep Pig out of the way. In thanks, Pig decides to help out and finds he makes everyone happy in the end.

Ping Pong Pig just wants to bounce around and have fun, and doesn't care if he messes up the other animals' work in the process. The other animals make him a present to help focus his energy. Will Ping Pong be appreciative? Cute farm illustrations & good message.

The ending is dumb and abrupt. Too bad, otherwise I might have used it for story time.
