Jessica Sorensen is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author from the snowy mountains of Wyoming. When she's not writing, she spends her time reading and hanging out with her family.
This book is very short. I see a lot of other reviewers have mentioned the same. Because it is so short there is no time to develop things (characters, world, relationships, back stories, etc). So while I like the premise, it just felt extremely rushed.
The world building in this book was really great. The paranormals are the higher beings and humans are lower. Your main characters are a human female, and male genie, fairy and cyborg. They have a vehicle that lets them "world hop" and the world where each paranormal is from is unique to their species. So that was really interesting. This is my second book by Jessica Sorensen, both have been YA reads and I am just sure I am not the demographic meant to enjoy these books. I think someone in their later teens, early 20s would probably love them. They are good but not blow me away great. However, I already have several books by this author and I will give a few more a try to see if any of those speak to me.
Come on, give us something new. This is just like Mystic Willow Bay Witches. A world with many kind of paranormals , romance and always the heroine have some special identity that no one knows
It was just soooo... Cheesy ? Predictable ? Unrealistic ? Too much... Like all the too much used stereotypes in YA fantasy thrown together ? The MC is just so unrealistic and sassy, and everybody loves her, and guess what she has special powers, and I just can't..... It has zero depth or world-building..
Ughhh XD And I am still going to read the next one... Because I want to know who she is going to end up with hahaha, and well it is only like 100 pages...
So good. I really liked this story and am really looking foward to the next instalment. I like all the main characters and how sassy and flirty things are. The adventure is great too.
Such a good rh book! I usually hate MOST RH books. this is the exception.
Harylnn lives in a world that is run by supernatural creatures. Humans are at the bottom of the food chain. Her parents are killed my a Genie, and the Genie curses her that her first true love will die. Also when the genie touches her something happens to him but we dont find out what exactly happen.
Years later to save a friend she goes to steal a Genie lamp off a bus, but the guys catch her and tell her if she steals items they need then they will save her and her friend.
I really liked Harlynn and all her witty banter between her and Asher, Arrow and East. They all seem like such good paramomral beings and are starting to care about her.
I really need to learn not to read book one of a series before the rest is published. Seriously- I *loved* this book. I am digging the idea of this paranormal world and all its workings. A band whose members are a Faerie, a Genie, and a Cyborg?!?! Yes, please. A scrappy heroine who is a thief with a heart of gold?! Hell, yes!
I just wished it was not a cliff- hanger. I felt unfulfilled with an incomplete story and lack of sex (in a reverse harem erotic novel!!!).......That being said, I will be jumping to read the next installment of Harlynn's adventure with these gorgeous paranormal hunks.
I haven't read any other of Ms. Sorensen's series, so I cannot compare plots/situations/etc. (Just FYI, because I saw another reviewer displeased that this was quite similar to another one).
Personally I didn't think the book was short or have a meltdown whether it's labeled as a series or book one. I knew before reading it that there would be a second book and it would be left on a cliffhanger hanger (small or big). Taking all of that into account, I wasn't disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline! Book two can't come fast enough. In addition, I would have to say that the banter between the characters was my favorite part. So take a chance and read this book. You won't be disappointed... really I'm shocked that there's not more reviews.
It has been awhile since I have read a book from Jessica Sorensen. Now after finishing a book I could not put down till I finished it and can not wait to dive into book two, I’m asking myself why not. Brought to a magical world where humans are the bane of existence and paranormals rule the worlds. We get to join Harlynn a human that hates all paranormals as she gets wrapped up with not one but three different species. A sexy quick read with action, defiance, and self discovery at its best. Now I’m off to the next adventure!
The heroine has a great personality very humorous. The main men are three polar opposites and their differences described very well, you get to know them all. The bad guys are multiple and there motives just another question to be answered in the next installment. This story sets you up for the next one leaving you with many questions yet to be answered. Looking forward to the next book.
Ok. So the idea was good! I like the concept. I like the world building. I like the main character. I just felt like this book cut off just as things were developing. It felt like I was reading a serial. Also not a fan of how much eavesdropping there was vs. plot development through experiences.
It would have been nice to know that this is not an actual book fully fleshed out and complete. Also, there wasn't much world building at all, so the story was confusing, even having read the Enchanted Chaos books. The only reason I didn't give the book the 2 stars it deserves, was I enjoy the character type combination (djinn, fae and cyborg).
I've read a few of this author's books now and am definitely becoming a fan. Her characters always have a good level of snark and humour which maker them easy to like and the stories flow easily. I can't wait to read the next in this series!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The Snarky heroin and the 3 band players gave this book a mysterious catch. Hoping the next book gives me answers. Love it and will recommend this book.
I really didn't know what to expect when starting this but I ended up loving it. Ash, Arrow, and East are so yummy! I can't wait to figure out what Harland is! Can't wait for the next one!
I was initially skeptical because I have never read a book about jeanies however this book is excellent. Once I got past the initial memory of the Jeanie encounter it picked up brilliantly. I highly recommend
Cute story. I'm excited to see what will happen and how the story will play out. I have not decided how I feel about the characters. The chemistry seems like it is there some moments and other times it does not.
I love all of Jessica's books, and this is no exception. In fact i liked it so much i wished it was more longer and i never wish that with a book. I seriously can't wait for the second part.
