REVIEW:

i've tried coming back to this, but in all honestly, it was so bad that i dont even remember what happened lmao, and the stuff i do, i keep getting angry and seeing red when i recall it. and i cant bring myself to be organized with my thoughts so this is just going to be a jumble of ranting and yelling.

so, what i do remember of this bullshit was that it was a waste of writing:

1) rush leaving gia in a precarious situation after finding out the big secret, which was something that she obviously had no control over and struggled with herself. then he goes out of town and stays with his old bff, who was his ex-gf in highschool WHO, surprise surprise, is divorced now and is attracted to him when he stays there with her and hangs out with her kid, like lmfao? do we seriously need this bullshit at the moment in the story? this is within the first couple of chapters by the way. then there are like two separate moments shown where rush acknowledges that this old friend has the hots for him and its... so gross. like, you have a girl at home, why are you thinking of this??? AND BEFORE THAT-

2) he gets mad drunk at a bar after elliot spills the BS to him, and this woman sits next to him- who he fully fucking checks out and mentions how hot she is and ACTUALLY CONSIDERS fucking her before he changes his mind and its like..... what the hell. WHAT THE HELL. he doesn't even think he would be cheating on gia.... like, you have a fucking girlfriend you stupid asshole (regardless of how shit is going back home), you are goddamn committed. i dont get how these authors can write in male characters who are meant to be devoted and sweet etc but they have these manwhore tendencies that stay with them forever like... how am i supposed to ignore that shit? like wouldn't a person be doubtful of them being loyal to their girl?

3) hes so fucking cowardly that he runs away like a goddamn pussy and doesn't even bother going home and talking to gia about what he finds out? like, its your smarmy ugly ass lying/cheating brother saying this shit? youre not even gonna bother asking her and instead take his word for it lmao? awesome. also funny that he leaves his pregnant gf in this awful situation where she is now doubting herself because he's being flighty about the whole situation despite promising to be with her in the first book.

4) he literally does not get his head out of ass- like throughout the entire fucking book its all about rush's poor sad feelings and its like seriously??? stop being a damn pussy like youre not 17, youre a fucking grown ass man so fucking act like it?? gia literally, on those earlier occasions with other women (that she finds out about), fucking assumes that rush cheated on her and that SHE DESERVES IT??? GIRL??? HELLO??? why on earth would a man's ugly actions reflect on you? like.... i dont get it. she really pined for him even after thinking he slept with those other women (even tho he didnt) and then he tells her- AND THIS SHIT IS FUNNY- like, he tells her "why would you even think that gia? i would never cheat on you!" when he CLEARLY considers doing it at least on one of the occasions. and then the horrible fucking fact is when he continues to say, "even if you thought that, you should have called me out on it." etc and that sentence as a whole is so fucked up. its like the authors are somehow condoning his 'potential' actions or making him seem like some feminist who cares that gia would let a man make her feel like that & telling her to stand up for herself or whatever and its such manipulative bullshit writing it made me see red, god. its like they were trying to cover up the fact that he does these dickhead things but at least he cares for her uWu like, gtfo with that shit
also that reminds me how in book 1- when he KNOWS he has feelings for gia, he still goes to some other broads house and until she has his flaccid dick in her hand, does he realize "OH wait, i do like gia" and then he leaves. i mean- thats gross as shit.

5) nothing else happens in the story- its just rush getting his head out of his ass and gia slowly deciding that she needs to go back to NYC for the sake of her and the baby and also because rush obviously doesnt want her there or whatever (they have such shit communication my god) and then around 40% is when rush comes back to her and they act like... idk??? friends or whatever, they'll flirt and kiss and cuddle sometimes and go to the clinic together, rush visits her in the hospital on a false alarm related to the baby and they dont even fucking talk about the big elephant in the room, which is, will rush fully accept gia and the baby - despite it being his ugly brother's child? like, they dont even address that shit lmao and the funny thing is, rush gets angry and upset when gia insinuates shes leaving and sees her packing up like boy??? what the fuck else is she suppose to do? you dont want her or are acting like you cant be with her so shes gonna obviously move on right??? LMAO, but nope, he gets annoyed and then doesnt see her for a while until later when they again, act like nothing is wrong and then uhhhhhhhh, IDK like..... they have one or two confrontations with elliot the ugly rat, who BTW- figures out gia is pregnant with his kid after seeing her only ONCE when he was drunk like LOL? and gia and rush confirm it to elliot over the phone which was super fucking funny and anticlimactic lmao. and then rush wants to get rid of elliot because elliot decides he wants to fuck with rush his whole life by getting involved in the baby's life but rush pays him off instead- which i thought was HILARIOUS. like if you did not want that weirdo in your life- you should just have paid him off and said 'dont interfere with me and gia and our baby' and never have told him it was his child????? like, y all didnt have to tell him lmfao if you were gonna get rid of him anyway. and then rush's dad eventually comes to the hospital when the baby is born and gives rush some half-assed apology (bcz he hears rush say nice things to him when the dad was in the hospital with some brain damage thing that happens earlier) and then rush only realizes that he wants to be with gia fully at the 95% mark and hes busy buying her a ring so he doesnt check his msgs and ends up missing out on the babys birth which i thought was fucking sad and ridiculous as shit.

6) THE WORST PART?????? rush keeps telling gia throughout the book that the baby is gonna be a boy but guess what? it turns out to be a girl and HE GETS ANNOYED/UPSET AT THE FACT THAT ITS A GIRL, LIKE??? what the hell? why the fuck do authors write these type of men in their stories who act like having a daughter is a goddamn burden like what the fuck??? he literally looks the doctor in the eye and says "i just had a daughter, so im fucked" like what??? WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN YOU STUPID CUNT?
and you know what else i fucking hate? i hate it when men do that "oh yeah im gonna be beating up all the boys that touch my girl" etc etc stuff and "shes not gonna be dating with her daddy around" typa shit because that its SO GROSS. SO FUCKING GROSS. (BOYS never experience that type of fuckery)
and its always funny when those men say shit like that about 'beating up the boy who wants to be with my daughter' because they KNOW- they fucking KNOW how boys are or can be at that age because those same men use to be like that too! y all get it. thats their whole stance on it. i hate men like that, y all can die. & i mean, y all are not only acting fucking controlling as shit but you're basically keeping a hold on your daughter's life- her romantic/sexual life, which is some weird ass disgusting freudian bullshit fuckery that i dont even want to consider- but is very blatantly obvious in that weird "protective daddy" stance thats taken.

and ofc this shit exists fully in real life- like i remember seeing this post on twitter where some lady posted a pic of her beautiful baby girl lying on the bed and like babies do, her arms and legs were spread wide open right- so, the mom took a pic of that and posted it- but in the 2nd pic, the baby girls legs are CLOSED with her dads hands wrapped around them and the mom captioned it "her daddy wasn't having it" like???? WHAT. THE. FUCK. i mean you can very easily tell what the hell that insinuates and i cannot comprehend why it was necessary or even thought about?? ITS A FUCKING 5 MONTH OLD CHILD. A BABY. good god. why on earth would you sexualize a fucking child? thats like some weirdly ingrained pedophilic behaviour. why are women/girls sexualized like that, like why cant we live our lives w/o you fucking psychos coming up on here with your protective bullshit thats paved in patriarchy only to hinder women and their growth. like, get the fuck outta here. that whole scene where rush is like yeah im gonna beat up those boys who come to my girl or whatever the fuck, made me so goddamn angry like- why do y all hate women so much and wanna hinder our growth with your weird ass protective bullshit like CHOKE. CHOKEEEEEEE

7) keeland and ward really just wrote in this gross manwhore behaviour and im honestly realizing that ive seen this shit in their other books too but i brushed it off because it wasnt as prominent but it really shines in this duet and its making me feel so annoyed that ive hyped their books in the past when there is obviously problematic shit there- despite the good writing & characters.

8) speaking of good writing? there was none of that in this. the writing was shit and felt like a 2nd draft maybe - there were spelling mistakes as well and it just read kind of juvenile. the dialogue was also sloppy and the witty moments fell flat as hell. not to mention the smut was so bland i dont even remember it. the characters, rush and gia both, were stupid. i felt bad for gia if im honest but rush was a pig. a fucking pig. gia's dad was cool and thats really about the only other character i remember. like- nothing was memorable lol. i practically skipped over so much stuff because it was so uninteresting.

6) so yeah- it sucked ass. i did not like it and im disappointed in both authors lmao like what a fucking mess.

7) im also tired of brushing off bs that i read in these books like i am not holding back from that now lmao if i see shit imma call that out stat, i am tired of these authors writing in this toxic fuckery and acting like its some poetic cute shit cuz IT AINT.

8) lastly, this book was a waste of time/writing and they couldve easily just wrapped all the bullshit up in 40 pages or less in the 1st book--- w/o all this unnecessary wack ass dumb shit in this 2nd book-- by gia telling rush right off the bat, him getting angry but just paying off elliot to fuck off and disappear from their lives and then fully committing to gia by telling her that he's here for the long haul because he is NOT HIS DAD and wont abandon her and the baby. then they have the kid and the end everyones happy like?? that couldve all been in book 1 lmao.

9) ANWAYS, im disappointed/annoyed. edit: you know what i also fucking forgot? elliot gets back together with his wife after she finds out that he's been whoring out behind her back ???? what the hell ??? what did that poor woman do to deserve living her fucking life with that animal?? and not to mention shes pregnant too so what the fuck? she didnt deserve that shit man, she did not deserve that. hell- elliot deserved to either die or go to jail for the shit he did. fuck that motherfucker.

10) dont read this duet/book lol. you're better off i promise

may 22nd '18: i really don't know what to say about this- other than this could have very easily be written as one book instead of a duet. 90% of this book was a waste of writing lol. A WASTE. i'll write a review more coherently later but i won't deny that im disappointed

HEA or not- it couldve been better.

Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland just rocked my world, and my heart! If you haven’t read Rebel Heir – you must read that first, plus it’s fantastic because Rebel Heart picks up right where that book ended. Right into the action and drama and ANGST! I’m trying to do this spoiler free but man this one got to me! I felt like I spent half this book holding my breath, just waiting to see what was going to happen.

The perfect amount of laughs, tears and angst! Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have written some of my favorite stories and I’m adding Rush and Gia to that list!

I love these characters, Gia and Rush own me! I understood their struggles and the push and pull, their situation is rough for sure. These two are so strong though and so is their love. I was rooting for this couple and I loved the way it all came together. I loved both of these books and their journey, Gia and Rush are amazing and prove how strong love can really be.

Awesome ending!
I devoured it in one sitting!

So where were we?
Rebel Heir finished with
-Gia being definitely pregnant and
-Gia discovering that her one night stand was most probably Rush's disgusting brother, Eliot (“Gia—you came back for seconds?” Yuck!!!)

On the other hand Rush is the perfect gentleman. He looks after Gia, he plans their common future, he books professional photographs for her and the baby as a surprise.....

“Your girlfriend is a lucky girl.”
“Trust me. I’m the lucky one.”

...until he finds out who the father of the unborn baby is in the worst way

“Tell your girlfriend that Harlan said hello.” Double Yuck!!!

After that basically the story revolves around Rush and his internal conflict to accept the news, to embrace his upcoming joint life with Gia and essentially mature and become a model father.

Rush's brother, Eliot is always an issue

"...having this little bastard to lord over you will bring me years of enjoyment torturing the two of you.” Triple Yuck!!!

Anyway, I absolutely loved Rush in this book. Lucky Gia and lucky baby!
Moreover, I absolutely hated Eliot but I think he was the perfect villain.
And Rush's father was the protagonist of an interesting unexpected event.

Concluding, I would love another book with Rush, Gia and Eliot. I think the story can easily be continued.
All this angst and drama. It was like watching a soap opera!

Get ready for a ton of angst and pulse-quickening steam in this conclusion to the ”Rush Series Duet”. Keeland and Ward have yet again managed to write another fabulous story that is sure to keep their readers engrossed until the very end! I’ve loved so many of their charismatic Heroes and Rush is definitely being added to the list!

Just when Rush and Gia have fallen head over heels in love they are thrown an unexpected curveball that complicates their new relationship, but they soon realize that their feelings are too strong to walk away from each other. Then, an even bigger surprise is revealed and this one is devastating and a tough pill for Rush to swallow. It ends up developing into a huge rift between Rush and Gia. No matter how upsetting the news is, the two are still madly in love and neither time nor distance can diminish their feelings.

Their relationship will be put to the test in more ways than one which is what I attribute the overabundance of angst to in this story! But if you have read any of the books these two authors have written then you know that in the end, you will not be disappointed!

Here are my overall ratings

KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

’REBEL HEART:’ is the second book in Vi Keeland’s and Penelope Wards ‘Rush Series Duet’ it picks up right where ‘Rebel Heir’ left off.

This is only going to be a short review only because which ever way I go I'd be divulging spoilers, so this is a pretty hard review to write up, you must read ‘Rebel Heir’ first before jumping onto this, with how things left off in the previous book this was one that I wanted to get my grabby little hands on to see what was going to come at us next.

Like an angst whore this ticked all the boxes, more drama, more feels, more angst it all came together on a rollercoaster.

This book gave me whiplash, the are we or aren't we pulled every emotion out of me. Rush even more so in this book was the perfect guy, he just came across so lifelike, every minute emotion he went through as a reader I was pulled into what he was feeling. The unjustness of it all was all consuming, the highs and lows, the angst, the feels came at me like a train derailed.
And Gia was the perfect companion for Rush, she proved this time and time again in this final instalment. I loved these two characters.

dnf.... 50% in and thoroughly exhausted. The writing is good and flows nicely but it just feels like there's a lot of filler material that doesn't exactly move the story forward. Just my opinion :/

AAAHHH! I've been waiting weeks for Rebel Heart because the last book ended with a cliffhanger and I badly want to know what happens next. This is my most anticipated book for the month and it's the conclusion to the Rush Duet.

The book starts from the Rebel Heir's ending as Rush and Gia's relationship turned upside down after unexpected circumstances. Facing the truth was the toughest situation for both protagonists which made their relationship complicated. It wasn't anyone's fault and on the bright side, it's opportunity to re-evaluate themselves. A time for forgiveness and acceptance. I love how maturely they handled the situation and respected each other's space.

I love Gia for being a resilient and independent woman. She was focused and organized. Instead of wallowing, she prioritized what needs to be done and planned ahead for any worst case scenario. She remained optimistic despite of her breaking points and I admired her a lot for that. Rush has a lot of personal baggage to work on that's why he had a rough time finding acceptance. Especially he has a bad relationship with his biological father and both of them deserved a closure. Some scenes in this book stirred my emotions and they're beautifully written. MY FEELS.❤️❤️❤️😭 I can't tell you though because of spoilers.

Clearly, Rush and Gia were destined for each other. I love their chemistry and there's so much sexual tension between them. They're undeniably in love and their bond was unbreakable. Whatever happens, they'll always look out for each other. Their relationship was imperfect and an emotional journey. It taught them love can overcome anything and they've learned a lot from their family and friends which resulted into a fruitful and more meaningful relationship.

Fortunately,it's an amazing conclusion to Rush and Gia's story. What a heart-melting and sweet romance. Absolutely worth the wait. OMFG I FEEL SO GIDDY RIGHT NOW I LOVE IT. 😍💖🔥Unfortunately, IT'S OVER. 😭 I turned into a sappy, emotional mess. I'll terribly miss them all. Hello book hangover!

Refreshing!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 💙💛🖤🤍
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📒
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😳🤬😏🤓😎

The heroine: Gia - she worked for Rush at a bar he owns and they went through a lot together in the first book. Gia had hang ups and abandonment issues because her Mom left her when she was a baby.

The Hero(es): Rush - he was the son of a wealthy businessman who wanted nothing to do with him and who had another son by his wife. Rush hates his father and his brother because they have no morals but is forced to work with them too often for his liking since his grandfather put him in the will and gave him equal shares.

The Story: Rebel Heir ended on a cliffhanger and it was one I saw coming for miles away. However, one thing I really liked about it was the situation didn’t resolve itself in the first few pages of this book. I have it when there is a big cliffhanger like a main character getting shot and then you get the next book and it is just a small flesh wound and they don’t even have to go to the hospital. I like it when the tension lasts and for this one it really did.

The book was told in dual POV, by a male and a female narrator. I love that. I also really enjoyed the tension in this book. The main characters were both good people but were in an awful situation all around. Also I hate it when the HEA in a book comes too early and there is too much of the book where they are just shiny happy people (boring).

This book had just the right amount of HEA and a good story. I liked both characters and there were some steamy times as well.

Book #2 starts right the second the first one ended. At Rush's brother's birthday party in the city. And Gia just realized that Rush's brother Elliott is the father of her baby.

Rush can never know. But his brother seems like the kind of a**hole guy who would just love to tell Rush once he finds out. She needs to tell him first. But she's scared, because she just knows that Rush wouldn't be able to handle that. He hates his brother.

What to do? She has to tell him - but then she will lose him forever ...

What will happen to Gia & Rush?
Will there finally be a HEA?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

WAAAAAA!! Finally book #2! The first one ended sooo cliffyish!

Poor Rush.

description

There are a billion guys coming to the Hamptons every day - why did Gia have to have a one-night stand with his's idiot half-brother???

I kind of hated the whole book. LOL - no. I loved it. But I just hated that we had to go through all that sh*t until we could get to our happily ever after. Poooooor Rush! And poor Gia. You just hope all through the sad beginning that they'll fight through this and that Elliott won't be too much of an ass about everything.... Ugh. I HATE Rush's family!

Even though I hated so much about the situation, I really loved reading the book. Rush just can't stay away from the love of his life and the baby - even though it's not his kid but his nephew or niece... but there's a lot they have to overcome until that happy end can happen!

Great second book in this duet. It was all so sad and moving and sweet and adorable and sexy and ugh - I need to see this on Netflix ASAP!!!!!

REBEL HEART was the perfect ending for Rush & Gia's love story! Sad, moving, frustrating, sweet, adorable, funny, sexy...perfect!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own Rush - this one is MINE!!!! ☺☺☺

After things were left off in Rebel Heir I knew I was in for an angst fest when I began reading this book. In fact, I was so worried about this I decided to not read this before I went to bed because I knew it would fuck with my head when I should be sleeping and I would end up reading all night.

So yes, I can confirm there was a lot of angst in this but I also loved how much honesty there was too. In fact, it was really refreshing to not have the main characters making assumptions and miscommunicating. Rush and Gia go through a lot in this storhy, their love and commitment is challenged in so many ways but they are very open with each other about how they feel.

Gia is feeling very vulnerable and trying to put her baby and herself first. Standing on her own two feet has never been more important than it is now. She needs to prove to herself that no matter what happens she can handle whatever life throws at her, as hard and painful as it may be.

And Rush. Oh my goodness, what a beautiful man he is. Despite the mind fuck going on all round him, Gia is never far from his mind and the intense need to protect & look after her trumps anything else going on.

There was a fair bit of ‘he loves me, he loves me’ not weaved throughout this story and fair enough on Rush’s side of things. He has a lot to work through and needs time to figure out what he wants. The facts remains that he loves Gia and she loves him but is that enough to overcome the bad stuff happening now and potentially in the future.

I absolutely loved this fantastic conclusion to the Rush series duet, it gave me all the wonderful book feels that I love so much.

"Life should be about living with uncertainty while we watch beautiful sunsets with the people we love."

I don't know why I am so disappointed. Ok, that's a lie - I know exactly why. It took me a bit to sit down and write this review, and it's with a heavy heart that I say that in comparison to the first book, this one was just not right. It was a dud for me. I was so freaking upset by the time this book was over, I was legit sad. My mood shifted. And for everyone that wants to say, it's just a book. I know. sigh I am very aware of that, but you know how you have such high expectations for something that was so amazing at first, but then it fails you? Yeah, that's exactly how I felt about this one. I will say this: they nailed a real, true and honest love. Sadly, it was one compromised by circumstances, but enhanced by real emotions and life. I give them that. But....ugh.

I just feel like this book went from relatable and honest to a complete circus act - stupid drama and unfinished business. Rush was the man. To be privy to his thoughts, it added a whole new element for me. As badass as he was, he was genuine and that just upped the swoon factor. His banter made me giggle and his naughty mouth made me blush. He did everything for Gia and made sure she was always taken care of; emotionally, mentally, and physically. He had forethought, always one step ahead to make sure Gia never needed for a thing. He always went above and beyond, always having stuff in order and never missing out on important things. It's because he was responsible. He made plans to make sure their life was going to be stress-free and drama-free. Again, going above and waaaay beyond. And then he misses the ENTIRE thing he so desperately wanted to be a part of!!? What is this?? Is it life? Yes, it is. I get it. People miss things all the time. I get that. I do. But I don't like how this all played out and it turned something that was so perfect into unnecessary drama and actions that didn't line up with the other 185% of the total sum of both books (100% from the first and 85% from the second - book math!!). When all of the sudden characters stop doing what we have grown accustomed to, it starts to make the book take on a different theme, and that is what ruined this one for me. I was so upset and I can't believe it upset me that much. Ridiculous, right? It is. I know it is and I accept that this is not rational behavior. But dammit, I expected more from these two because they have delivered repeatedly for me and I just think I feel completely let down by the finished product.

I accepted the back and forth of 'can we/do we' that the characters waded through, because that totally works for me when it's warranted and written well, and this one was!! Oh, it so was. Because in this case, it was so warranted because of the circumstances. The nature of the emotional upheaval that Rush had was pure . I could totally feel his pain and why he was questioning everything. It was organic. It was authentic. It was real. I got it. They wrote that sooo well, and his emotions were legit. I'm trying not to give too much away, because that would ruin the entire duet for many....but his pain was real. It was palpable. It was evident. And then for this buildup to continue to escalate and the drive for a better life was planned and executed, and he is pushing for what he believes is right in their world only to have it ripped away, leaving a gaping hole? It didn't make sense!! It didn't line up with the rest of everything he had done previously, with his actions and his words. So it made ZERO sense why the last 15% went and spiraled downhill like this one did.

I will say this much: this duet started out so promising with the first book being so so good. So interesting. There were some relatable characters to laugh and connect with. There was some drama that I could actually see happening and not even question it....and believe it or not, that drama was my favorite part because I knew it was going to showcase the emotional side to a sometimes funny, and sometimes naughty story. It provided an element of pain and suffering on one front, but also turmoil on the heart on another. Bottom line: perfect storyline. The ending just sucked royally. Why a 3 if I'm so mad? Because the storyline was perfect. The initial drama was perfect. The desire and love and lust was perfect. It was so good until that very end when all of the sudden we were dealing with four completely different characters than what we started off with. That was not perfect. That was heartbreaking.

ORIGINAL THOUGHTS

I’m so upset with how this ended, I’m not going to lie. I’m going to say, this could have been sooo much better. Review to come tomorrow, but I’m just going to stew over this, wondering where it all went wrong and why. What caused this perfection to just....disintegrate before my eyes?

So... I gave in. I read this, even when I didn't like Rebel Heir.
Again, too much drama. I must admit I skipped some pages, when Rush and Gia were feeling sorry for themselves (that's quite a lot, by the way).
Gia and Rush break up, because Rush can't face the fact that his brother is the father of Gia's baby (that is not a spoiler if you read Rebel Heir). On the other hand, Gia is desperate to get back together, so that her baby has a father (and because she loves Rush, blah blah blah). Then, a lot of stuff happens, and you just have to look up from your kindle and ask yourself: what were the authors thinking?
Besides, this story could have easily ended in one book. This just wasn't necessary.
Finally - I am the only one who thinks there is something weird about the cover? One of the things I liked of the first book is the cover, with that sexy tattooed man smoking a cigarette. Here, the dude looks kind of funny? Like he is angry? And I am pretty sure it's a different model. I don't know, but I don't like it.

Rush Rush Rush!!! He's definitely one in a million; a lot of people wouldn't have the guts to step up. Kudos to you sir!

Conclusion from Rebel Heir. We see Rush and Gia navigate the bombshell from the previous book and how ultimately they are able to find their way back to one another.

Solid 4 stars!!!

Where do I even begin? Rebel Heart is everything I wanted and needed in the conclusion to a duet. It starts off immediately where Rebel Heir ends and takes off running.

"Life shouldn't be about constantly trying to prove that we're safe from getting hurt. Life should be about living with uncertainty while we watch beautiful sunsets with the people we love.

I wasn't sure what to expect in this one. How are they going to play out this storyline? Will Rush stay with Gia? Will Gia flee? Whatever happens, you can be sure I'm not spoiling this goodness for you.

"Gia—My beautiful Gia. I loved her more than I thought I could handle."

All I will say is that Rebel Heart is deliciously angsty as only Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland can do. They built such a fantastic story into this steamy duet and I could not put this book down. Seriously. It usually takes me at least two days to read a book of this length. I read Rebel Heart between sun up and sun down. Ward and Keeland keep us on our toes and leave us with a super sweet ending that I couldn't have been happier with.

This is very painful for me.

4.5 Rebel Stars*****

OMG!!! Be still my heart...

Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland are going to be responsible for some really STRONG heart palpitations, my poor ticker can hardly take it. Rush and Gia were such an amazing couple; never predictable and their chemistry, was super hot, off the charts.

Rush being a Rebel through and through, had a hard time accepting the situation surrounding Gia. On one side he could hardly keep away from her, but on the other, thinking about the cards they’ve been dealt with, made his head doubt that he could ever be the man she needs him to be.

Rush kept struggling, not knowing how to deal with the messed up situation, and even though the only thing he is sure of is the fierce love he feels for Gia, he’s not sure there could be a future with them.

For Gia the hardest part was having to see Rush every day, protecting her, spoiling her, yet not being able to be with her. Her love and craving for Rush are unlike anything she’s ever felt before and it was killing her to have to give him space to sort things out.

As these two lovers figure out their future, us readers go on a crazy journey, packed with a lot of angst and uncertainty. Luckily for us, these two authors come through with one amazing conclusion to this highly gratifying read.

Book one and two were both equally amazing. I always love it when Penelope and Vi write books together, and this duet makes the perfect summer, romance read. Simply fantastic!

Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward deliver an angsty, heartbreaking, sexy and swoony conclusion to their Rush duet that left a big smile on my face.

Rebel Heart picks up right where Rebel Heir left off when Gia realizes who her baby’s biological father is. She’s mortified and heartbroken because she needs to tell Rush, but in doing so it will most likely destroy everything she was building with him. Things look even worse when Rush finds out through a third party, but the facts remain the same and Rush must decide if his love for Gia is bigger than the seemingly Herculean obstacles they must face.

Gia had moved to the Hamptons for writing inspiration and got a job at The Heights, Rush’s restaurant/bar, to supplement her income. As the summer comes to a close and her relationship with him is undetermined, Gia needs to determine what’s best for her and her baby. In order to move forward, they must both see beyond past hurts and push away fears. The love and attraction between them is undeniable, but is it enough?

In Rebel Heart, while Gia is even more determined and brave in order to face motherhood, Rush isn’t the intimidating boss but he certainly does brood. Mostly he agonizes over the big decision he must make and showed not just his love for Gia but his maturity since meeting her. It was angst inducing and drama filled, at times it felt like it took him forever and a day to come to a decision, but it was also necessary. Both were equally appealing characters whose chemistry, banter and developing relationship made this story a great emotional read.

Rebel Heart is rife with delicious banter, angsty twists and turns, and an unputdownable swoony romance with happy ending.

Rebel Heart is book #2 of the Rush Series Duet by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.

“Be uncertain. Live anyway.”

A Brief Re-Cap:

Rush and Gia meet at his restaurant/bar and start up a relationship. "Something" comes up and puts the brakes on said relationship. Rush is finally able to move past things but then Gia is confronted head-on with the cause of the "something".

End Re-Cap.

This book picks right up where the first one left off in all its splendid angsty glory. My heart really went out to Gia and all she was feeling. I just can't imagine.

Now, she just has to talk to Rush about it which, of course, doesn't go the way she wants it. It's a hot mess and now I have all the feels for Rush.

And Rush handles it exactly the way you would expect although some events managed to get through to him and help him make some decisions.

description

Still Rush is in no "rush"...and that causes everyone else to make decisions and Gia goes right on doing that because she has to.

There's some drama with Rush's Dad and it was great how he stepped up to the plate and how he dealt with Elliott...for the most part.

The ending wrapped up quite nicely but that epilogue was extra bonus points for the win! ;)

In this book, we had an emotional rollercoaster ride between Rush and Gia. They had so many obstacles in their way Rush and his fears, Gia struggling with her situation and the way that had to figure out how to be together and how to let love win.
I give this one 4 stars because the pull and push in it get me a little boring but overall I can say I enjoyed it and it was an entertaining series to read.

Pretty good ending, but I feel like this could have been one book. There was some filler that just didn’t need to be there to make this story good and complete. While I enjoyed that the authors didn’t make things simple, at some points it just felt draggy. I like how it ended and the story as a whole, but this book itself gets a 3.

I’d give the duet a 4 together though!

Mamma che fatica finire questo libro! 🙆🏼‍♀️
Peccato!

4.5 'Fortunately' Stars!

I was absolutely hooked to this love story! I adored this duet: the main characters were amazing, the dvelopment of their relationship was unexpected but oh-so-good, their chemistry was explosive and I am so glad they finally got their happy ending. They surely deserve it after all those obstacles in their paths. As always, I love everything this duo of authors write and the Rush Duet was no exception!
