I pretty much only bought this anthology because it was Christmas-y and the stories sounded interesting enough. Short erotic stories aren't my favorite to read because they're a bit to superficial. Which was true of this anthology. The book was okay, just not enough depth to really keep my attention.

Story 1, Unwrap Me, by Susan Lyon is about a young-ish woman, Jude, who is pretty much a female Scrooge and Grinch all rolled into one because of some bad experiences around the holidays. She wants nothing to do with Christmas. Then her friend Karen sends her (Karen's) brother as a secret Santa gift when Jude said she wouldn't mind a hot no-strings affair. But what starts as some hot nights together ends up turning into so much more.

This novella was okay. I didn't really find the whole female Scrooge thing for Jude all that interesting. I don't know why, maybe just because the story was so short and more about the sex than about the emotional development. So the story ended up just being a bit of a superficial sex story with a holiday theme. I didn't love or hate it. It was just okay. (Rating: 3 / 5)

Naughty Noelle, the second novella, by Melissa MacNeal, is about a forty-seven year old woman whose marriage and career has recenly fallen apart. So she and her recently widowed mother decided to spent the holidays at the beach. As soon as they arrive, Noelle meets her landlord, thirty-three year old Andy Hathaway. From the first, Andy wants Noelle and tells her straight out. Noelle is shocked. He's fourteen years younger, and after a tepid marriage, she doesn't see herself as sexy. But Andy convinces her otherwise.

I have to admit this was a bit of a strange story, but it was my favorite of the three. It's a bit hokey and quirky, but it was amusing and hot. Just an all-around fun story to read. It's probably not the most realistic, but I just ignored that. I can't say the older woman/younger man thing is something I generally like reading, but I didn't mind it all that much. And Andy was a bit of an oddball. But all the weird little tidbits of this story made it interesting to read. (Rating: 4 / 5)

All She Crave For Christmas by Melissa Randall, the last story in the anthology, is about an almost thirty year old model, Anita, who decides it's time to leave her career and return home to her small town. She's decided to renovate houses and resell them. She bumps into a Dylan one day, a young man she babysat way back when. The attraction is instant and when Dylan, who is working temporarily for his father's construction company, agrees to look at one of the houses she's considering buying, it's not long before they hit the sheets.

This novella was by far my least favorite of the anthology. After a couple pages, I actually considered not finishing it. It's told in the first person, which is something I generally hate in romance novels. And it really doesn't work for an erotic short story. There's something that's a really turn off about a first-person narrative involving masturbation or sex. It didn't appeal to me at all. The story in general was okay enough, could have been more developed, but the first person thing just killed it. It took a lot of work to make it through and it was only like 70 pages. (Rating: 1 / 5)

So overall, though the book wasn't too bad, it's not one I would consider a must-read. The Christmas theme was nice, but I probably wouldn't buy this book again if I had to do it over. Not really worth the $15.

WARNING: this book contains: explicit sex

I was disappointed with these short stories. Not very imaginative and basically dumb. As usual the main girl is not the sharpest tool in the shed. In one of the stories, her boyfriend hangs her thong on the x-mas tree as a joke while her Mother and his Uncle are there. I just don't see the humor in that. She gets mad at him but at the drop of a hat forgives him because oh he just is so manly. Ha!I would NOT recommend this book. I will admit I saw the shirtless man on the cover and yes that's why I got it. :)Sometimes you can judge a book by it's cover just not in this case.

The collection opens with Unwrap Me by Susan Lyons. Jude’s been a Grinch about Christmas since she was eight, and discovered that to her bigamous daddy, she and her mom were just Plan B. Nick, a hot single firefighter, has always been part of a big family Christmas, but this year his parents have oddly decided to go on a cruise instead. When Nick’s sister-in-law decides to play matchmaker, sparks fly, and we’re not talking from the fireplace.

Nick is determined to make Jude reclaim her love of Christmas. If it takes a different style of condom for each day of Christmas so be it. On the fifth day of Christmas, glow-in-the-dark. This novella is sexy, sweet, and fun.

Melissa MacNeal’s Naughty Noelle is next. Noelle’s mother has decided that the perfect location for their Christmas holiday is a rented beach house. Make that an apartment. At the top of a long flight of stairs. No big deal, except that Mom is wearing a cast on her leg and can’t get up the stairs. Andy, a.k.a. Mr. Nice Guy in the Santa hat, gives Mama ride up the stairs, and Noelle a different kind of ride. And Mom finds a love interest of her own. Very sweet and satisfying, as well as very hot.

All She Craves For Christmas - Melissa Randall
The first two stories are written in third person, while All She Craves is written in first person. This takes a few moments to adjust, but this too is a sexy story. Anita, our heroine, faces competition in the form of Dylan’s pregnant ex-girlfriend Karen.

The sex scenes are hot, but personally, I had a hard time getting past the idea of dating someone - make that screwing someone, who has a possibly pregnant ex-girlfriend. Call me a fuddy-duddy, but I think that rebound relationships are a really, really bad idea, so I wasn’t able to appreciate this story the way the quality of the writing deserves.

The entire collection is wonderful, and I look forward to reading more material by all of these authors in the not-too-distant future.

I'm surprised that I never wrote a review for this. I liked Jude's story the most, because she's a Christmas hater who is totally lusting after a Christmas lover. For me I thought this story was the most creative but only if you love Christmas. And I don't mean the Jesus bit. I mean the decorations and love of others and the goodwill of the season. Yeah I'm that sucker but I'm happy with it.

Naughty Noelle threw me because I wasn't expecting the older woman, younger man story but it actually worked really well. I mean they were all over each other like bunnies but it was cute. And for a younger guy he was a mature in touch with his feelings younger guy.

The older woman, younger guy was a trend in this anthology because of the story of the retired model who ends up with the hots for the kid she babysat (I swear it's not as pervy as it sounds!). I liked that this story revisited the past. Things you would never consider. Yes the guy is 6 or 7 years younger than her. She could have always viewed him as the little kid she babysat but no she viewed him as the adult he was and that's fantastic.
