Definitely not "every day", definitely not "fuss-free", and definitely not wallet-friendly. Be ready to stock up on wines and sherries and plant an herb garden because you'll be using those fresh herbs quite a lot. I was looking for everyday family-friendly, wallet-friendly, frozen meal-dump dinners.

I did 2/3 of the recipes and they were a bit of a hit-or-miss, but overall good if you don't mind the prep-work.

Most of the recipes in this book I've seen in the Fix and Forget It series. If you've never read/opened a cookbook about slow cooking, this would be an okay beginner. Otherwise, I'd stick to the Fix It And Forget It books. Or create your own recipes. Once you know how long specific types of recipes take (soups and stews are better on high for 3 hours or so, depends on your individual slow cooker, for example) you can easily create your own and/or easily tweak recipes you already use.

I saved a few recipes to try. Most of the recipes require one ingredient that I've never purchased before. I'll have to expand my pantry a bit before I can actually try a recipe. I did love the descriptions of most of the meals and the pictures were eye appealing. The steps seem well explained.

Recipes that look good to me: Ropa Vieja, chipotle chicken tacos with avocado Crema, lemongrass coconut marinated chicken, Mediterranean quinoa with arugula, creamy butternut squash apple soup, vegetable and tofu Thai soup, spice-drizzled acorn squash.
