I read the first book and didn’t realize there was going to be a second. I loved it more than the first! The idea of two worlds totally opposites of each other is genius! Naomi Cyprus paints the picture of the world beautifully! I love the sisters and family aspects! I’d read the first book first so you’ll have background knowledge.
I can't decide if I feel meh about this book, or if I really liked it. There were some complications that I thought were strange, and the ending didn't really make me feel anything. It was just "okay, finished this book, now let's read another.", if you know what I mean.
This wasn't quite as good as the first one, but my goodness what a story. The magic system was so fleshed out and the characters were so strong and fun to follow. I loved the side characters just as much. The atmosphere of this story was probably my favorite part. The desert world was so rich and exciting. I wish there were more book set in this world.
