The Young Master's Revenge, Vol. 3
Love’s revenge can be sweet.
When Leo was a young boy, he had his pride torn to shreds by Tenma, a girl from a wealthy background who was always getting him into trouble. Now, years after his father’s successful clothing business has made him the heir to a fortune, he searches out Tenma to enact a dastardly plan—he’ll get his revenge by making her fall in love with him!
Leo has been trying to get the down-to-earth Tenma to fall in love with him, but she’s remained immune to his advances. In his dreams, Leo meets a younger version of himself who guides him into his past to reveal his true feelings for Tenma. But even with the purest of motives, can Leo ever win her heart?

I initially read this book because I had bought it with my hard earned money from work and I didn't want it to go to waste. I wasn't really feeling the series, and I thought that once I had finished this volume I would unhaul these books. But this volume surprised me. I think a large part of that was because the series took a sweeter turn. Leo realised his feelings for Tenma so he was no longer as sinister as he was in the previous volumes. He started to right his wrongs to Tenma so I started to like him.
In terms of the plot of the volume, I think it was the strongest out of the series so far! Things happened that actually developed the relationship between Tenma and Leo. It was no longer the weird one they had before where it was like master and maid, fellow students and frenemies. It started to be friends and people who have crushes on each other.
With the characters, I like the change in Leo. It was the main reason why I started to get invested in the story and how I managed to finish it so fast. With the other books, I took a while to finish the volumes. I hope Tenma would become more aware in the final volume. I am looking forward to seeing what will happen with the characters in the last volume.
I am not sure if I would recommend the series as a whole so far, so keep an eye out for my review on the last volume!

How is this the second to last volume? That's not fair, I like short series but this seems almost too short.
The characters are fairly well developed and eye plot of this volume was good. I really am enjoying it, which is why I am sad there is only one volume left.

Yay! Progress. Cute, cute progress. But I’m starting to wonder about everybody’s constitution. They all get “sick” or run “fevers”...

Leo’s emotional growth and progression are great, but I still wish this was a deeper story (just as I had wished for Meteor Prince).

I’m glad I decided to actually read this so I wouldn’t be wondering about it-that said it uh is what it is? I’m kinda surprised this came out in 2017 tbh. Just one more to go!

(Series Review)
Genre: Young Adult Contemporary Romance Comedy
Content Rating: Teen (bare buttocks, light bullying)
Format Read: Paperback (purchased)
The Young Master's Revenge is a 4-volume story about the fine line between love and hate, and a boy who straddles it. The story follows a sweet but somewhat sadistic boy whose love for an oblivious but good-hearted girl has become warped after a mortifying childhood incident. After years away he returns to exact revenge on her for his embarrassment, but instead discovers the root of his protective and possessive feelings towards her and must work to become a better person. While some could have a little trouble with the way he initially bullies her, I thought this was a sweet young romance with strong characters, good humor, and an engaging plot drawn in a cute style. The end was a little weepy for me, but otherwise it was a rather adorable happily ever after.
Conclusion: If you enjoy short, lighthearted young romances with fun characters, a little light sadism, and adorable pig dogs, then definitely give The Young Master's Revenge a try! All 4 volumes are available now from VIZ Media.

~3.5 Stars
(Contains light spoilers.)
Leo has fully realized his feelings for Tenma, just as her family shows up to take her away. While she's mostly been oblivious to the romantic tension up till now, when she's forced away from Leo, she starts to realize her own feelings.
Aside from the romantic tension, though, Tenma gets to take a stand for her own life, decide what she wants to do with herself, and then she gets to try to make her own living. Live by herself, of her own choosing, and the hardships that come with it. Though, really, Leo has more issues with this than Tenma does.
This is a cute series. I like seeing Tenma become aware of herself, and then see her come into her own as she has to live on her own and work for what she wants. That's always a plot line I enjoy.
