This was a special offer download from Amazon at a very attractive price and I'm pleased to say it was worth the money. The cookbook itself is very good, with a good range of recipes, well laid out with good illustrations. Recipes tried so far have come out as expected and good.

For an American edition, it does the job properly and offers international weights and measures both imperial and metric along with cups and spoon measurements. There is not an overreliance on proprietary American grocery products either. If anything my only negative on the recipes themselves is the portion size is huge. Most say for 4 portions, but I've been halving them to feed that many. Not a problem but something you should be aware of.

The downside to the book is the poor translation to digital media. It appears that a hard copy of the book was run through a scanner and then turned into a kindle compatible file. On my PC with a large screen, it looks beautiful, but on my Kindle, tablet or phone each page is shrunk down so much as to be virtually unreadable. There is no form of indexing to allow you to find specific recipes or sections of the book. There is also no search function available. This all really lets down the digital book experience and does not do the book or its author justice. This is one case I would say buying the hardcopy is the best option.

Beautiful book but not a single recipe I want to make in my slow cooker. Most recipes require extra steps on the stove, in the microwave or oven, and I just want to throw things together. One soup I will try--Cauliflower-Turmeric--but in a big pot on the stove; it starts there anyway so you may as well keep going.

Out of all of my cookbooks, I have made the most recipes from this one and they have all been delicious! The Maple-Bourbon Short Ribs is my favorite recipe of all time and it’s become a tradition for my husband and I to make it on Christmas every year. I also like that the recipes don’t have a ridiculous number of ingredients and most are easy to find.

These recipes won't blow your mind - they're not fancy or inventive, but they are incredibly accessible and simple to follow. Great basics to keep on hand to throw in your slow cooker when you want an easy meal prep option or need to feed a family.
