Thunderstorms crash over the city and Adie’s called upon to face down a power drunk Kellen to save her home. For the first time she must use her powers as a succubus, but is she prepared for the consequences of saving the city?
Faced with hard truths, Adie must decide what she really wants, and what she’s willing to give up to reach her goals. Her cousins complicate things when they show up for an unwanted housewarming party. Especially when Julian is dodging her calls.
With her bakery only days away from opening, will Adie finally realize her dream? Or will life slap her down once again?
Follow Adie on her continuing (mis)adventures filled with troublesome demons as she strives toward achieving a quasi-normal life among humans.

Pacific Northwest author L.L. Frost writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance with snarky characters and descriptive world-building. Whether she's writing a fast burn romance about witches, wolf shifters, and vampires, or teasing a slow burn romance while hunting demonic monsters, her passion is for character driven novels.
Growing up in a rainforest gave L.L. Frost plenty of time to daydream while spending cozy days under a blanket with her cats by her side. Sipping tea or chugging coffee, you can find her with a book or laptop in hand, imagining new worlds.
Usually it doesn’t take long for any type of sex to occur in the books that I read. This book starts the beginning of Adie’s awakening. She finally helps one of the demons before he destroys the city. But it ends with Cassandra crashing their much needed get-together. I’m curious to see what kind of hold she has on Julian.
This serial is addictive! I'm thankful I get a tiny tease every month, because I'm not sure I could wait a whole year between visits with Adie and the demon boys!
The Vortex begins where The Torch ended with Adie having a major problem to deal with. The bakery has endured some fire damage after little Torch’s escape, but now a summer storm has called to Kellen and he is unable to resist the siren call and now Adieis being called upon to help him before he destroys the city and attracts the unwanted attention of the demons higher up. Adie just can’t seem to catch a break. The bakery is in need of repair and now she has to drop everything to run to Kellen. Adie is in a weird head space because of the men having to help her heal, but now she has to make a conscious decision to engage with Kellen if she’s going to help him. Things get steamy, intense and absolutely delicious. Things do take a tragic turn with this book. I get disappointed with Adie for again wanting to lay the blame on others for her own ineptness. I like that she tries to help, but I have to agree wholeheartedly with the librarian that Adie is selfish and that she needs to move past that already. If she was what she needed to be things would have played out differently. All in all though I have to say that this is a good addition to the series, so I’m rating this serial 5 out of 5 stars. I’m looking forward to see what happens next.
This is such an engaging series. Love the characters, they're all so unique! Finally, Adie's relationship with her demon roommates is heating up and becoming deeper. It's obvious that they're all starting to actually care for each other...they save each other and help each other over and over now. But all Adie's relationships are somewhat strained... It would be so nice for things just to go smoothly for her. But that sure doesn't look like that's going to happen any time soon...especially with a house full of her cousins and the arrival of the evil Cassandra. This just gets better and better! Love it!
That cliffhanger! Somehow, I had a feeling it was her fault Julian couldn't be reached and I knew she would start to harass Adie soon. I sure hope Adie learns soon that sex doesn't just have to be about feeding because that moment with Kellan was hot. Plus, she is dangerously ignorant and could get Kellan, Emil and Tobias dragged back to Hell. Someone will take her place if she doesn't do her job right.
The cliffhanger gimmick got old about five books ago. It’s a cheap shot especially when each installment is so small. The character development is stunted because of it and I have officially lost interest because if the plot is progressing I can’t tell.
I have a love hate relationship with these books. Although I am enjoying the story very much, the length frustrates me. I realise they are a serial, but they feel like they are only a couple of chapters long. Though this book actually surprised me as there was a significant amount of steam, which has seriously been missing from the last 8.
I do not like Cassandra. She just gives me vibes. I wonder what her gift to addie is. Also this book made me realize jus how young addie is compared to the other demons. Makes me like her more because she’s also more human than the rest. Love Landon as well. Love this series.
This part of the serial has a lot of steam. Some action as well. The party happens and A die takes care of Kellan. It was good. It needs some editing though. I also wish we could get the rest of this story.
I love and hate that this is a serial. I need the whole story now!! But also don't want to wait for months it a year to get it. So instead I stalk this story ever month for the next update.
Cassandra keeps messing with poor Julien. Adi finally expect all 3 gods they all have feeling for each other. I wonder what Cassandra wants with her and why they are all scared of her and it’s messed up none of her kind went to save a new life
I don’t want this series to end! I know the next book is the ending but we are just finally getting to see Adie with her fellas. Her fine fine fellas. I knew something was up with Julian and it had to be by Cassandra. Looking forward to the next one!
