A clever, emotional take on fan-favorite characters in a sci-fi adventure unlike anything we've seen on Cybertron, Earth, or anywhere else in the Transformers universe.
Winner of the Comixology Award for Best Ongoing Comic Series of 2017, as well as Best Writer for James Roberts!
Crammed into a dead Decepticon astropod that's ten sizes too small, the displaced crew of the Lost Light face their most serious threat each other. No worries though, Rodimus can save the day! Or they might all die... Plus, the Scavengers have never had it so good. The war is a receding memory, their patchy service records have been forgotten, and the five of them can roam the galaxy as they please. All's well that ends well? Not quite.
Transformers: Lost Light Vol. 3 picks off straight after the previous book with Lost Light crew stuck in a pod! :D This is of course creates character conflict and development that comes across brilliantly! :D At the same time the humour runs through all the events as you would expect! :D
As well as addressing previous and ongoing plots there is more development and new plotlines up! :D This all adds up to an incredible fast-paced story that never let up for a second! :D
The art is crisp and clear as ever and the unusual camera angles really get across the crazy situations that they find themselves in! :D The panelling marries up perfectly with the script really showing you the pace of events! :D
Transformers: Lost Light Vol. 3 never lets up from the start! :D Transformers: Lost Light Vol. 3 is full of daring do, character development, rib-breaking humour, action, daring do, adventure and world building! :D Crisp High Five! :D Get it When You Can! :D
I'm not ready for this to end. Roberts has taken dumb toy robots and turned them into a sometimes hilarious, sometimes heart wrenching sci-fi romp across the Galaxy. One more volume and I have to say goodbye to the crew of the Lost Light.
I love when I get to cry when reading at 3am, this volume is something else. Cyclonus' raw emotions are something else.
I can't help myself, I love every bit of these issues, even when I thought the pace of events was a bit odd in rare occasions. The characters, all of them, are a ton of fun and I love how different they all are. One thing that really cracked me up is that so many of them think Rodimus and Drift are a thing, meanwhile Drift is constantly nearby Ratchet and they look adorable together haha
I swear I'll have this page on my wall ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Another wonderful piece of the series. Comedy and tragedy. Redemption above ridicule. Anomie and accidental epiphany. Roberts and Lawrence competently take us on a hurtle to the finale of eight years of story, in comics best continuing series.
As usual, Lost Light continues to shine. James Roberts does a fantastic job making you care about these characters and what happens to them, while simultaneously spinning a nail-biting mystery that somehow continues to surprise me with its twists and turns.
Sweet mother of God this was amazing. Best book in the series so far and easily one of my favorite comics ever. The Scavengers have never been sassier. Cyclonus and Tailgate have never been cuter. (Or more emotionally fulfilling. God how I cried 😭🥺). And you even get to see Skorpinock and Grimlock kick ass! This dealt with the afterlife and slowly unraveled into some shocking reveals that will have your heart breaking and remade over and over again. The MVP here might be Magnus or Ratchet. (If you discount Cyclonus and Tailgate.... give them their own series you cowards)! This was damn fine entertainment. Do yourself a favor and start reading Lost Light so you can get to this volume. It's sublime. 👌
Big improvement on the last volume. The single issue at the beginning that's entirely illustrated by Alex Milne feels like a red herring, but the other illustrators, who've never been on this title before (C. W. Coller and E. J. Su) contributed to the tone of their issues in a positive way, that Milne or Lawrence might not have been able to. This is the best chapter of the title, art-wise. Roberts also tells some good jokes, something missing from the previous two volumes. You can start to tell, however, that this story is shorter than it was originally meant to be...
Like!!!

The sad robots meet their doom yet all is not quite as it seems. Meanwhile a dinobot ends up pregnant. This seems to be the beginning of the end, tying up plot threads from way back in issue 7 of MTMTE with the latest events in Lost Light Vol 2. I found the first half a little hard to follow, but the main arc is really interesting and easily makes up for it.
Slightly more convoluted than the previous volumes... You can feel Roberts is trying to wrap up all the things he can and knows he won't have as much time as it wanted. Still, there are some absolutely amazing bits - and the Cyclonus's and Whirl's characters arcs are probably favourite things about this volume.
