I really enjoyed this book and couldn't wait to see if Lainey and some of the other characters would survive to the end of the story. Human trafficking, especially when it's children, is a terrible thing. This was a realistic insight to just how multi-level some of these operations go. What people will do for money is astounding. Nice twists, good characters, and all around good story.

This book was just as amazing as the first book. Carissa has an amazing gift. This book is a great psychological thriller. I couldn't put it down. I had to find out what was going to happen next. It kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It had a few twists and turns I didn't see coming and I loved it. This is probably one of my favorite series.

Love these books

I have read both books so far and can't wait until you write a third one. Please don't keep us waiting as long as you did between the last two. These are great books so keep up the great work.

Good Story, But Lacking.....

This is a good story about an abducted 8 yr old girl and child trafficking. The story deals mostly with the hired P.I's and Psychic's search for the abducted girl. There are no sexually explicit scenes nor scenes of physical abuse. There is, however mention of rape and abuse regarding one of the previously abducted girls as well as scenes of violence and murder (not the children).

What I found lacking was emotion ... the children's and particularly the Mother's. I didn't feel the fear, nor the Mother's distress or guilt. (The child was taken while shopping with the Mom.). I usually reserve 5 stars for books that not only have a good story, but that also make you feel what the characters are feeling, ones that make you live the story. I didn't live this one. More like I was reading a news or magazine article about it, albeit a very interesting one that you have to finish to find out what happens.

I enjoyed most of this book and even the ending, but I gave it four stars because I was so disappointed when The kids kept getting away only to get caught again. I thoroughly enjoyed book one and found the emotions to parents and during Chloe‘s kidnapping were normal, but I felt Beth seemed a little detached especially since her dad and stepmom went to eat dinner with the stepmom‘s daughter despite Laney still be in missing. I do look forward to other books in this Siri’s as I said most of the book and the ending was really good but the cat and mouse I thought went on a little too long. Other than that it was almost as good as the first book. Not to mention I thought it odd that Clarissa would get premonitions about Lany before she even went missing, yet doing the whole cat and mouse drama she felt nothing. I’m not psychic and don’t know how that works, but I would imagine she would’ve felt something. Again that’s just my Laymans opinion. I received this book from the awesome audio unleashed for free in exchange for my honest opinion and this is it. I would definitely read another book by this author.

I didn't think I'd finish this in one day, but it was enjoyable and easy to read.

Carissa Jones is on the hunt for a stolen child, who wasn't taken by crazies, but by Russian mafia. It is up to Carissa and her boyfriend, Dustin Frazer to work with the local police to see if they can find her and a boy before they are moved out of the country and sold to perverts. While they work to find the children, they have a few issues to work out in their relationship.

I'm not sure if there is another book, but if there is, I just might have to pick it up to see how their relationship is doing. Fun story.

Now that Ending Twist is a Knockout from left field by 99%! Totally different than expected or beli

eved possible! WOW! Double whammy! This book cover is special and a perfect choice for this title and subject. Special. I'm thankful it's not a personal for my life just a far off subject that I read about a few times in a lifetime. I heard stories especially back when I was in school/college even but not so much afterwards. This is a well written, very interesting, fast page turning book with special characters that carry you alongside them! You'll come out feeling different after reading this book!

This was another story about Carissa Jones, a psychic and her PI boyfriend Dustin. It is set in the Twin Cities where I used to live for many years. I enjoyed the setting references. They talked about the pizza place on 7th which closed not mentioning the name but it's Red Savoy's. So things like that were fun for me.

I enjoyed both the series characters and the new ones. Character development is a little less than I prefer but the action / mystery was good. It certainly held my interest throughout the book.

Lainey is an 8 year old girl who is shopping with her mother when the unthinkable happens.......she disappears. Unknown to her family Lainey has been taken and placed into a sex trafficking ring.
Having heard of the abduction psychic Carissa Jones offers her help to the local police to help find Lainey.
This is a story of a subject so many of us do not even think about. However, it is happening in our own backyards. Sex trafficking is on the rise and we as parents need to be vigilant in watching our children and making sure they stay safe.

Okay this book only took me about 5 hours to read, I couldn’t put it down if I wanted too. It kept me intrigued. It taught me things about trafficking that I pray I never know anyone who goes through this hell, but yet it made me want to help Tara, if she needed it. These people that go through this unthinkable, unbelievable crap needs help, and compassion. This author touched me in ways I can’t explain, all I can say there are some EVIL people in this world, and it can be in your own family, or someone you know.

I read this book within 15 hours; and if I had not fallen asleep, I would have finished in 4-5 hours. That is all it took me to read it. I enjoyed “Searching for Faith,” which is the first book in this series; however, “Looming for Lainey” was so much more thrilling and I did not see the twist coming. That is very rare. Middleton has caught me off-guard twice now. I cannot wait to read another of her books. I downloaded this book immediately after I finished the first one.
She will pull you in and have you hooked!

This is a story about a kidnapping at Walmart of all places. This is a busy store that always is filled with people how can a child get stolen but she does. her parents are distraught and don't know where to turn. The child's grandfather decides to bring in a psychic to help find the child. What they don't know is Lainey is about to be sold to human traffickers and they may never see her again. Can they find her in time.

Great writing, not graphic at all, difficult subject

I hesitated buying this book because of the subject, but it was handled with great emotion and no graphic scenes. These situations happen way too often and we all need to find a way to end. It was scary .seeing what happened to Tara and worried about what was going to happen to the other children. Thanks, very well written edge of the seat novel.

This nonfiction/fiction novel kept my mind on high alert, didn't want to miss anything while listening to this story on my kindle. If I was at home instead of work, I would have kicked back on the couch with a bowl of popcorn because this tale read like a classic 'who done it' movie with all of the best unexpected twists in the plot. I really enjoy the Carissa Jones books and hope there will be more released, soon.

Child in danger

I have never thought about it before, but it is a frightening world for children. I never knew there.are so many crazy people out there preying in the young and innocent. This story has been an eye opener for me. I will definitely pay more attention to what is happening around me. I look forward to more Clarissa Jones stories. I think all parents should read this and be more diligent in not only watching there children, but explaining the dangers to them.

Eye opener

The cover got me first, then the title, a well written story full of twists, this is a subject I have heard about many times over the years and have never fancied reading any books about it. There was just the right amount of truth surrounding the story but not to much to make me put it down and forget about it. I really enjoyed the two characters in the book and look forward to reading more about them .

That was intense. I don’t particularly like reading about bad things happening to children because, although not real in this story, those horrible things do actually happen. I did like this story, the characters, and the writing. Also, the ending didn’t crush my soul like The Hack by Will Patching. I couldn’t read for days after reading that book. I’m still scarred.

Great book

I discovered Kristen Middleton and her Carissa Jones Mystery series and I am hooked. This story was exciting with likeable characters and a storyline that is close to my heart. There were some twists and turns in this story . We are also given some insight into the horrible business of human trafficking. Can't wait to read the next book.

Twisted tales

I need more Carissa please. I read these two in 3 days. I'm seriously hooked. I gotta have more with her + Dustin and their family that they'll have and the children they'll save together. How these families might end up working together all of them so many possibilities.

Lainey is snatched right under her mother's nose. The quilt this poor mother goes through is unimaginable. A physic Carissa can "see" and is prompted to help. The tension is unbearable, the story is horrid, but it's happening today, and that makes it even more horrific. Fast paced, edge of your seat, tastefully done without being graphic. Will be reading more by this writer.

This book is full of real low-lifes with actions and language to match. This book is full of action from child snatching, to a daring escape and recapture, callous killings and dodging the police. And the story doesn't end with the rescuing of the children. Wonderfully written action packed story line, filled with twists and turns, this book will keep you at the edge of your seat.

A fantastic psychological thriller

I was so impressed by the layout and intensity of the structure of this story. The challenges of introducing characters with the build-up of the plot. Some surprising twists makes this a great book.

Very disturbing book.

Human trafficking is a business that the police need more resources to shutdown.
Unfortunately Lainey and Sammy are just 2 children in amongst thousands of kidnapped children sold and used as animals.

I read this book in one day. I could not put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen next. Sex trafficking of children is an awful thing but all too real. Some surprises with a clairvoyant helping to find the missing children.

Good

I really liked the story. It is also sad that in this world today it is likely very close to the truth. The internet has proven to be a blessing and a cruse. I thought the characters were interesting.
