It's in one man's true nature to remain by the side of the woman he loves, rather than live without her in his own universe...
Landscape architect Logan Marshall is out for a jog -- in his werewolf form -- when a trap catches his paw. As it saps his strength, he is saved by another werewolf, who -- to Logan's amazement -- is female.
Female werewolves aren't supposed to exist. But Rinna is a shapeshifter from another dimension who's traveled through a portal to this world. And the trap that ensnared Logan was set by her former captor, and meant for her....
But as soon as Rinna and Logan touch, an electrifying bond forms between them. Unable to resist his desire for Rinna, in all her many forms, Logan will have to earn her trust, and travel through both dimensions to save her -- and earth -- from the wrath of her enemy....
Ruth Glick (born 1942) is a best-selling author of healthy cookbooks and has also written dozens of romantic suspense romance novels under the pen name Rebecca York.
Ruth earned a B.A. in American Thought and Civilization from George Washington University and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland. Although she always wanted to become a writer, Glick was convinced that her lack of spelling skills meant that her goal was unattainable. As a stay-at-home mother, she took a community college course to help her choose a career. The course made it very clear that writing was her primary interest. Glick began writing articles for newspapers and magazines, but after several years decided to try writing fiction. Her first book, a kids' science fiction book, was finally purchased by Scholastic Inc..
Since then, Glick has become a highly successful author of over 50 romantic suspense and paranormal novels. Many of her novels are published under the Harlequin Intrigue line, and in June 2003, she became one of the first authors published under Berkley's new Sensation imprint. Before 1997, she often collaborated with Eileen Buckholtz and Kathryn Jenson.
Glick also is a highly regarded author of cookbooks focusing on healthy eating. She sometimes hires trained chefs to test the recipes that she creates, and makes sure that every recipe is tested at least three times before it appears in one of her cookbooks.
Glick is the head of the Columbia Writers Workshop. She and her husband, Norman Glick, live in Columbia, Maryland, where Ruth collects rocks, and enjoys cooking, walking, reading, gardening, travel, and Mozart operas. They have two grown children, Elissa and Ethan, and two grandsons (Jesse and Leo).
Logan is a werewolf... he and his brothers fought a vampire like monster from an alternate horrible , with the aid of Rinna (woman on the other side of the portal between the parallel universes)... while camping/harvesting native plants from a stretch soon to be developed, he is running around as were and is compelled to where his foot is trapped and magic spears are driving into his brain... The trap was for Rinna, who stops to aid Logan, even knowing she is making herself vulnerable.
Rinna, a slave in the alternate universe, but a powerful magical psychic, can shift to wolf or hawk, raped by Falcone - who wants to breed with her to start a dynasty, escapes into our world... and when she rescues Logan, they team up to keep her safe, and to ultimately destroy Falcone...
humorous set ups as he stumbles around her universe (that branched into magic instead of science in the 1800's and evolved to fighting city-states; and as she stumbles around ours (cars, telephones, microwaves, stores where anyone can buy things, etc)...
Ultimately they dispatch Falcone's soldiers into the monster side of their universe, and defeat Falcone.

This book was an easier read and far more enjoyable than the previous in the series. It's world traveling PNR is a far cry from the romantic suspense of book 1 but if you can buy into the fantastical, it was entertaining. The fish-out-of-water ending was humorous and had me bent over laughing at points. I'm not sure that's what the author intended, but it worked for me. Three and a half stars because it made me laugh.
I wasn't into a book that had a heroine that was bad ass during fight scenes and then this shy, useless person in the new world she found herself in or in the sex scenes with her life mate.
Logan Marshall, Lance’s brother and Ross and Adam’s cousin, is a landscape designer. While on a camping trip to collect unusual plants in a soon to be developed patch of woods he stumbles into a magical trap intended for a shifter from another dimension.
Remember the girl on the other side of the rife in ‘Shadow of the Moon? Well, her name is Rinna, an ex-slave from the other dimension who has a power that Falcone the leader of Sun Acres (?) wants/needs to keep power. This is her and Logan’s love story.
Unfortunately due to that the story becomes more Sci-Fi than urban romance. But since I like Sci-Fi and it doesn't stay that way long, the story is still very interesting. The other dimension stuff makes it very different than the previous stories preventing the usual ‘all the stories are the same’ problem a lot of series have.
While I liked Logan and Rinna they’re too wishy-washy. Logan doesn't have much of that aggressiveness that the other males have and Rinna’s ability to adjust to our world changes too fast at the end. One moment she’s making all kinds of mistakes, then the next she knows everything so needs to handle Falcone.
And Falcone is just plain stupid. He’s so egotistical that I don’t know how he got into power in the first place. Without his ability he probably won’t have. It would have been nice for him to have a bit more sense so Rinna couldn't lead him around the nose so easily. I love how he thinks he can get by in our world and the mistakes he makes.
Jake, the cop in this one is a delusional conspiracy theorist. He comes up with the wildest ideas, but refuses to believe the truth because it’s too crazy.
Quick Thoughts: 1) How in the world can wolves carry bird calls and use them?
Fave Scenes: escaping through the river, exploring the convenience store, the electric socket, Savannah stopping the fight and Logan’s secret garden.
Logan is a werewolf, out for a run, when he gets trapped by a device meant to kill shapeshifters, only it was meant for Rinna, a shape-shifter on the run from another dimension. She frees Logan, and they escape to her world, only to be chased by Falcone, a man that wants Rinna to bear him a powerful son. Pretty good story, and the world is well thought of. I think there is a book before this 'cause Logan's brother is hooked up, and these series always stay in families!
Didnt find it all that great. I guess i have biased against all authors who are not the likes of sherrilyn kenyon...
The story was ok - but the characters are not strong enough - i mean he was a do-gooder-werewolf but still i think the characters lacked a little something ( which i am not able to put my finger on ).
This series you can read just one or read out of sequence one of the reasons why I love it. Also in this one the women is a shape shifter which it is very weird to find it has been the first one that I have found. The only thing that I tend not to like about the book is that it is a little "fluffy" but other then that I love it.
I just stumbled upon this book and I have to say I really wish I could get the rest of this series as this was a wonderfully fantastic read. Shape shifters, alternate worlds and timelines....I got to say pick this series up if you can!
Another book in the horrible werewolf porn series I'm addicted to. We've now graduated from werewolves to add psychics, magic-users, and shapeshifters from another dimension. They're like candy corn -- horrible, but addictive.
I read the first 16 pages and that was it. If you cant interest me by the first chapter, I have no reason to keep reading. Im sure those who like romance novels and such would love it, but not for me. Sorry, but it takes more than naked people to get me interested in a book.
Yeah I know it's a romance novel but I was stuck on a ship with not much else to read!!! Other than the dialogue between the lead male and female characters, the plot was actually pretty good.
As this continued with the "other" world theme, I did not enjoy this. I continue to try because the first novel in the series was so good. Hopefully she returns to our world soon.
