The boys and I read this tonight and they are already falling in love with Rockwell’s art with this artist study. It’s fun for me to learn more about him. I just remember spending hours looking at my Mom’s big book of Rockwell. He was quite the man, he grew up on great stories and became a wonderful storyteller himself through his illustrations. And also his stories of growing up… but that’s in another book, I need to keep reading. 😎

Getting to Know the World's Greatest Artists, Norman Rockwell is a nice edition in this fantastic collection by Mike Venezia. These books are perfect for exposing elementary and junior high aged students to a large variety of artists and styles of art. I was surprised how little information was present in this book compared to some of the others in the series; especially since Rockwell is a more recent artist.

I remember having a few books in this cleverly done series when I taught 2nd grade. This particular book includes some interesting information on Rockwell's life and career as an artist.

Thought this was a well written book. Short and a bit funny, but very informative.
