Not the most memorable cases, but enjoyable nonetheless, it doesn't offer much in terms of overarching plot progression except for a few sprinkles of further mystery here and there.

I feel like Conan is an abusive boyfriend you can't let go.
Dia suka menyiksa otak kita, bukan dengan kasusnya, tapi dengan tarik-ulurnya. Dia juga suka "menggantung" pembacanya (alias ini komik kapan selesainya?).
Dia juga terus membuat penasaran dengan kelompok Jubah Hitamnya, tapi sekali lagi, bagian ini juga dipanjangin terus dengan semakin banyak orang baru yang muncul.
Tapi, begitulah. Tiap ada nomor baru yang terbit, pasti dibaca juga.
Dia suka menyiksa otak kita, bukan dengan kasusnya, tapi dengan tarik-ulurnya. Dia juga suka "menggantung" pembacanya (alias ini komik kapan selesainya?).

Conan telah berjaya menyelesaikan kes pembunuhan perempuan berbaju merah, selain dibantu oleh Hatori untuk membongkar kes pengedaran dadah di tempat awam. Untuk edisi ini, tiada kes yang melibatkan dengan kumpulan baju Hitam.

Muncul tokoh baru, anak perempuan sekitar usia SMP. dia tinggal bersama Sera di apartemennya. dan mirip sekali dengan Sera. Sera doesn't have any younger sister does she?
ada juga bonus "secret report" oleh aoyama gosho di bagian akhir. tentang profil karakter karakter di serial detektif ini. dan juga beberapa tanya jawab. menurut saya tetap saja tampaknya detective conan masih mempunyai perjalanan yang panjang! :D
sayang sekali tidak ada tambahan potongan puzzle mengenai organisasi baju hitam. yah, buku ini bagus, khas detektif conan. tapi kemajuan ceritanya masih stagnan. stamp it 2 stars :)

Lagi bosan dgn yg romance2 dan fantasi mlulu, so back to Conan again setelah sekian lama absen baca komiknya setelah vol 80, haha. Ada 10 vol yg hrs dikejar. :) Tankoubon terakhir vol 88, scanlation sudah sekitar vol 90. Tadinya aku sempat mengira Conan uda masuk vol 100 loh. Serius deh ini komik terpanjang yg pernah kubaca seumur hidupku, lol.
Anyway, di vol ini akhirnya kita tau dari Ran sudah brp lama sejak kencan terakhirnya dgn Conan sebelum Conan mengecil dan jadi detektif cilik : NOT even a year! LOL. Setelah 83 vol! dan ratusan kasus yg dipecahkannya (mungkin kasusnya terjadi setiap harinya, haha). Dan Conan dkk juga tdk naik2 kelas, lol.
Anyway, di vol ini akhirnya kita tau dari Ran sudah brp lama sejak kencan terakhirnya dgn Conan sebelum Conan mengecil dan jadi detektif cilik : NOT even a year! LOL. As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻

#1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!

The story picks up where volume 82 left off, with a body being found murdered! The weirdest thing is that the victim is found under a bunch of tomatoes in a bath! Definitely an odd way to be killed. The story began with the mysterious and legendary story of the Red Lady and for the best context I suggest rereading the end of the previous chapter. The questions of is the Red Lady truly a ghost or a deceptive ploy is answered in this exciting volume! The next case involves a romance writer who Detective Conan is 100% convinced is a murderer…but the alibi is so strong, he is left wondering how the crime was committed? The next story involves the Junior Detectives along with Harley work together to start cracking a drug-trafficking ring! It is a chase and it was loaded with entertainment! The final story within this volume is a cliff-hanger but stars Jimmy (yes Jimmy) and Rachel as they stumble upon an incident. Looks…and smells like murder. Stay tuned for the conclusion within volume 83 in this mystery masterpiece.

Another fine volume! The Red Death mystery unfolds, plus a romance novelist's assistant turns up dead and Conan and Sera must figure out how it was done. I have to admit, I really like the female teenage detective stories, she is a great character! Then, a man stumbles over Conan and the Detective League, dropping a notebook and bags of marihuana! He leaves behind the book, which is coded and seems to imply a drug deal is going to take place, but Conan can't figure out the code. One of the detective boys calls Heiji to help, and together they figure the drug deal is going to happen in Osaka! The last chapter begins a memory story for Ran in which she recalls a mystery at an aquarium with Shinichi.

This volume had a lot of potential and could have been much better if not for the rushed resolutions that were handled off-screen. I wouldn’t mind if this happened once, but it occurred multiple times, which felt deliberate and honestly frustrating. It took away from the satisfaction of seeing the mysteries unfold properly.
That being said, I did enjoy the character profiles and designs featured at the end of the volume. The Q&A and the page layouts were a nice bonus too. It’s always fun to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the characters and the manga came to life.

CASE OF THE RED WOMAN: A HAUNTED PAST RETURNS
Conan, Ran, Sonoko, and Sera visit a villa after Sera’s brother asks her to look into a mysterious case involving his former classmates. The villa’s eerie red door and the sighting of a mysterious red-clad woman raise suspicion. The atmosphere darkens when the guests recount a 15-year-old murder involving the Red Woman and the later disappearance of their friend, whose body was found in a bog. The tension escalates when a classmate is discovered drowned in a bathtub filled with tomatoes. Amid a power outage, another classmate is attacked by a long-haired figure, leaving Conan to uncover the sinister truth behind the haunting legend.
THE DEADLY MANUSCRIPT: A CRIME OF BETRAYAL
Conan, Ran, Sonoko, and Sera visit Sera’s hotel, where they meet a romance author whose manuscript is highly sought after. Lanjutan kasus wanita merah. Cukup berbelit-belit ternyata. Tapi untunglah bisa diselesaikan. Ngeri juga kan kalau tempat untuk relaksasi dihantui dengan wanita pembunuh berpisau. Oh ya, di kasus ini, latar belakang Sera alih-alih semakin terkuak, malah semakin rumit. Siapa pula itu anak kecil yang ada difoto bersama Sera?
Kasus berikutnya adalah tentang pembunuhan asisten seorang novelis. Mirip-mirip dengan kasus-kasus pembunuhan asisten seperti kasus-kasus sebelumnya. Cuma karena kasus kali ini berkaitan dengan novelis cerita roman, jadi somehow menurut saya ceritanya ada sisi romantisnya juga.
Dikasus ketiga tentang transaksi narkoba, ada Heiji. Well, kasus ini berkaitan dengan pemecahan kode yang membuat saya lumayan sakit kepala karena tidak mengerti bahasa Jepang. Lucunya disini Heiji disebut sebagai gurunya Conan. Conan jadi bete. Untungnya diakhir kasus, Conan punya sesuatu yang juga bakalan membuat Heiji bete :D
Kasus terakhir terjadi pembunuhan di akuarium raksasa. Kasus yang dulu terjadi saat Shinichi dan Ran kencan di sana. Nah, kita bakalan ketemu Shinichi di sini.
Terakhir ada bonus Top Secret Report. Kalau menurut sampulnya sih isinya tentang in depth review, selangkah menuju kebenaran oleh Aoyama Gosho. Eh tapi pas dibagian wawancara, jawaban-jawaban Aoyama Gosho bikin gregetan, alih-alih selangkah menuju kebenaran, saya malah semakin penasaran.
Tapi tak apa deh, semoga komik Conan masih berumur panjang. Sebenarnya bertanya-tanya juga sih, ini komik kapan tamatnya. Tapi kayaknya saya bakalan sedih juga kalau komik Conan tamat. Secara cuma ini satu-satunya komik yang saya koleksi dengan lengkap dan selalu saya tunggu-tunggu kapan tanggal terbit volume berikutnya.
So, 5 dari 5 bintang lagi untuk Conan. Suka pakai banget deh pokoknya :D

Il mistero della donna rossa viene svelato e nel mentre Sera fa trovare a Conan il suo telefono con la foto di una bambina che le assomiglia molto. Chi è la bambina se lei non ha sorelle minori? La trama fa un passetto avanti col prossimo caso, ambientato proprio nell’hotel dove vive Sera; la bambina in questione fa recapitare un messaggio criptico proprio a Conan attraverso Sera. Anche qui il caso dello scrittore è risolto brillantemente dai due, devo dire che preferisco i casi come quello della donna rossa, con il trope della casa in mezzo al nulla. Torna Heiji, anche se solo telefonicamente, che aiuta Conan e i Detective Boys a risolvere un codice cifrato. Non mi aspettavo il coinvolgimento di Heiji e soprattutto che rivelasse i suoi sentimenti per Kazuha in una situazione di pericolo. (Conan ha registrato tutta la scena).
Ultimo capitolo: inizio di un flashback di Ran all’acquario con Shinichi e ovviamente si abbattono in un caso da risolvere.
Questo volume contiene anche una sezione speciale chiamata SPECIAL REPORT, dove il maestro Aoyama descrive i personaggi principali della sua opera e cosa lo ha ispirato nel crearli, qualche story board del volume precedente e infine un’intervista sempre al maestro dove, senza rivelare niente, focalizza dei punti importanti della trama che torneranno per essere spiegati ampiamente.
Ultimo capitolo: inizio di un flashback di Ran all’acquario con Shinichi e ovviamente si abbattono in un caso da risolvere.

Akhirnya kasus wanita merah kelar, dan malamnya saya sukses mimpi buruk dikejar-kejar sama wanita merah. Kalau kasus di Conan sukses bikin saya mimpi buruk, artinya volume bersangkutan nggak akan pernah saya kasih bintang di bawah 4. Artinya bagus.
Endingnya kasus Conan-Heiji melacak waktu-tempat perdagangan narkoba lewat kode itu beneran bikin ngakak. Heiji oh Heiji, sempat-sempatnya ngeles gaje di ending, jujur aja kenapa, toh Conan udah pegang bukti rekaman kata-katamu yang keceplosan :v
Terus pas kasus pembunuhan asisten novelis, pas si cewek SMP akhirnya nongol, saya langsung bersorak. Yeay, akhirnya ada perkembangan. Si cewek SMP sama Sera kayak lagi ngetes Conan deh. "Kau yakin dia bisa dipercaya?" YES, HE CAN! teriak saya, walaupun saya nggak ngerti maksud pertanyaannya.
Dan Shinichi muncul, sayangnya cuma flashback :v
Dan interview dengan Aoyama-sensei beneran ngeselin. "Sudahkah kalian maju selangkah menuju kebenaran?" Nggak, Sensei, saya malah mundur selangkah :)))

Un volume decisamente più bello del precedente!
La prima storia è stata la mia preferita ed esattamente quello che avrei voluto leggere nel vol. 82. Omicidio impossibile, delitto irrisolto del passato, ambientazione con una bella baita in mezzo a un bosco.
Poi, come speravo, arrivano nuovi aggiornamenti su Sera. E spero sia la volta buona che tra qualche volume ci dicano un bel po’ di cose. Basta con tutti questi indizi e domande.
Ultimo caso mezzo incomprensibile con tutti i codici della metropolitana ma ho apprezzato tanto ritrovare Heiji.
Curiosità (solo mia)!
Questo volume è uscito ad Agosto 2015, quando ero in Giappone. E combinazione in questo volume c’è una storia sulle linee della metropolitana di Tokyo e Osaka, linee prese durante il mio viaggio. Ed anche il ponte Ebisu di Osaka, una delle ultime attrazioni visitate.

Di nomor ini ada lagi tokoh baru. Sepertinya akan menambah panjang cerita inti penyelesaian kasus. Aoyama Gosho- sensei pelit banget ngasih bocoran info, termasuk pas wawancara eksklusif di bagian akhir buku ini.
Sepertinya beliau masih punya segudang ide untuk Conan.
Tapi kapan nih, masuk ke konflik utama dengan kelompok berjubah hitam?

A good mix of cases! It was nice to see Hattori, the beginning of a Shinichi case looks promising, but I actually found that I enjoyed the first case, in which Conan and Sera cooperated, the most! I enjoyed seeing Aoyama mix up his usual formula.

4 bintang dari aku.
Selalu bagus dan bikin penasaran buat baca kelanjutannya.
Volume kali ini dibaca di saat-saat pikiran lagi penuh dan di saat badan lagi capek banget.
Lumayan mempengaruhi.
Aku ngerasa kurang dapet euforianya kayak volume-volume sebelumnya :((
