Last night, we became one, the lines blurred between our minds for just a moment, but the echo of it is still vivid in my memories. I want to feel that again, and if I have to chain them all to my bed. That actually sounds like a pretty good idea.

The Fates like to play with our lives. They're not malicious, just bored. But that also means that sometimes, we have to take our destiny in our own hands and defy the Fates.
I will do anything to save the bear shifters from extinction, even if that means going against the will of the most powerful beings in the universe.
Because the bears are no longer just friends. They're family.

Be warned, this book contains four sexy bear shifters that will make your hormones bubble and your ovaries squeal. 18+.

Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today & International Bestselling Author whose books are filled with strong heroines who don't have to choose.

She embraces her Scottishness with fantastical Scottish settings and a dash of mythology, no matter if she's writing about Celtic gods, cat shifters, or the streets of Edinburgh.

When she's not typing away at her favourite cafe, Skye loves dried mango, as much exotic tea as she can squeeze into her cupboards, and being covered in pet hair by her tiny black cat (who's secretly a demon).

Great Story

I still love me some bears as we continue it to follow Isla and hers. The Dates get involved in this adventure changing the course of their lives. Each new twist drew me in deeper as I wondered how it would all come together. Great background into the characters. If you love bears and rh then this is the book for you. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

I did not read book one, but I get the gist from book 2. This Reverse Harem story is great, and I want to read book 3!

I was really hoping the FMC would get better from the first book because I really enjoyed Skye MacKinnon’s writing style, but she doesn’t.

The split between Isla & Alis seemingly vanishes in the recording of the audiobook, which is probably more the fault of inconsistent narrating than the authors fault but it makes it hard to differentiate between Alis’s bitchy alpha female crap & Isla’s own baggage. Isla’s voice is almost the same, down to the accent that used to separate them, and it changes the tone of a lot of the dialogue. It comes across as Isla being more bitter and bossy like Alis and while Isla was stubborn, she was really naive & unconfident (and reckless…) in the first book… it’s a huge shift. And in the context of the plot? Makes zero sense because she’s once again thrown into an entirely different, extremely dangerous world in a sink or swim fashion except it’s no longer just her life at risk but also her mates. She should’ve been terrified and letting anyone more experienced handle things but she doesn’t. She’s suddenly challenging the Fates and pushing her luck. Alis does seem to have the reigns more, but even when she doesn’t it seems like she is in control because Islas personality is so different.

I also had to go back a number of times and re-listen to things because I was just SO lost when the Fates and all that stuff happened. Once they were pulled through the portal it was non-stop action or drama and I felt confused right up until the end when suddenly, boom. She’s pregnant. She hasn’t even fully mated with all the men in her harem and she has JUST “saved the worlds” (the bear shifters at least, with the deal being there COULD be more cubs now) and she’s pregnant. Already.

I feel like this is coming off more harsh than I mean it to, because the writing style really is excellent and I will definitely try something else of MacKinnon’s but this one completely lost me. And I have no interest in reading the third, as I’m assuming it’ll revolve around the pregnancy & whatever drama the child brings and that’s… not at all for me.

Isla and her bear Alis are more aware of each other, the shifting is easier and her mates are as loving and protective as can be. They've settled quite nicely on this Island, into a home of their own. Isla has bonded with the Alpha Torben and she has also fallen for Húnn, Ràn, and Finn as they settle into their new relationship. Fellow shifters Arnold and Bertram (Bertie) have not only been gracious hosts, they also know how to get supplies from the trading ships that come periodically. An abandoned battery factory with lots of inventory are their currency and they are shrewd negotiators.

This book opens with one of those trade ships arriving. It's not only the supplies they obtain, but a strange woman sets them on a quest for a portal on the island. Apparently the Fates messenger has a sense of humor.

Once they find the portal, only Isla and two of her bears are brought through it. They quest the fates have in mind is emotional and dangerous. The outcome means the bear shifters would once again be able to have offspring.

A strange and mysterious tale, with plenty of danger and sizzling heat.

Book 2 of Skye’s bear shifters trilogy I thought was a good follow-up! The things I mentioned in book 1 was rectified in book 2 (with the guys getting their special moments with Isla). I will say this to me still wasn’t super steamy but the steam definitely increased from book 1 to 2. I am interested to see if the other 2 who haven’t bonded will get their moment in book 3 because of the being reveal and curveball at the end. I am liking Alice more and more in this story, but I am worried she is going to inevitably be sacrificed or something. She had to make an incredibly hard decision and I commend her for doing what she had to do. I liked the plot but thought it wrapped up pretty quickly.

I thought the narration was improved in book 2, with Kyo’s performance of a lot of new side characters. I will say I hated one so bad, so high pitched, but I think that was on purpose hahaha. I enjoyed seeing Isla’s growth and the love between her bears develop even more than book 1.

This is the second book in The Drowning. Where we meet our main character Isla and the bears Torben, Ran, Hunn and Finn. We also meet Alis near the end. In the second book we really get to discover who Alis, or Calisto is, and her past. And what the Fates have to do with no bear shifter babies being born.

Alis and Isla's connection is becoming stronger and they are becoming so much closer. Enough that she trusts Isla with her past. But thats not the only trust. Ran also opens up about his painful past. Some characters will surprise you and I love Alis, being able to understand her motivations and why her personality is the way it is. Im sure you will love her too when see the choices she has had to make/will make. And plenty of the bears, though Finn didn't star very much. I really am hoping the next book will be Finn heavy.

This well-written book 2 in The Claiming Her Bears Book Series is post-apocalyptic reverse harem love story. Prepare for strong alpha males with a trace of vulnerability, an epic quest, Viking beards, very steamy scenes, Scottish landscapes, Celtic mythology and a post-apocalyptic setting with unique and interesting characters. I liked this book and this series. I look forward to others in this series. I love these amazingly well-developed characters and community. These characters are unique with interesting personalities and histories.

Continuation of a Great Story!

This is an amazing series of books! The world building is so stark and descriptive that I shudder to think that we may face something similar in the future if global warming is not addressed.
While this book is a continuation of the story about Isla and her four men, it is also about righting some of the wrongs of the past (not global warming!). I can only hope that Isla will have the chance to confront her uncle in the last book. She needs to deal with her past so that her future is bright with her new family.

Isla and her bears must find a portal and contact the Fates.
Isla meet a messenger from the Fates on the beach and are told they must find a portal so that the Fates can talk to them in the hope that the problem of the bears being unable to conceive can be corrected. When Isla and two of her bears find the portal they are pulled through to the place where the Fates live. This is the second book in the Claiming her Bears trilogy.

This second in the series was a great continuation and I can't wait to sink my teeth into the third and final book in the series. It was a fantastic read and continued the storyline form the first work quite well. I enjoyed learning more about the characters and seeing what happens next as they continue on their journey. The final book is definitely on my next to read list. I love the mythology woven into this work and seeing what happens next will be another adventure.

Five out of five stars.

Mackinnon has done it again!! I had no idea what to expect when I started Polar Fates but I was not disappointed!!!

Isla and her bear shifters are racing to save the date of the bear shifters.

I loved the development of this story. We about why bear shifters have become less and less. And we also get to learn a little more about her mates.

Skye has done such a great job building this world and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!!

This book picks up where the first book left off, with Isla taking Torben as her mate and now she want them all to bond with her. I can't say I blame her ! This time around there is an unexpected visitor when the trading boat arrives, Isla and her bear Asil notice something is off about this red hair girl. The fates have an adventure for the 5 of them and it will rip your heart open and bear it to the world . There is a surprise at the end though just keep reading ! Awesome book !

Bears, Bears, Bears!
Polar Fates is the second book in this series and I loved it as much as the first. It was a great continuation of the story, so you have to read the first book to understand this one.
We get to find out more about Isla and the bears. We also find out more about Alis’ past, including her son. I love the inclusion of the Greek gods and the Fates. Lots of twists and drama. I can’t wait for the third book. I love the world that Ms. MacKinnon has created!

I enjoy this one because it opens with a bit of history (as in, way back in the bear’s past, not just what happened in book 1). So it offers more insight into the FMC and her world. As well as a bit of mythology, action, drama, corruption … I will likely read on in the series.

VERY generous 3 stars. The first one was much better. I feel this book went a bit off the rails and in a very, very weird direction. I rarely DNF a book. I force myself to finish because I am not a quitter so I pushed through in 2 times speed when I usually listen to audiobooks in 1.4 speed. I'm a glutton so I will listen to the 3rd book just to see if the story recovers but I don't have high hopes.

This is the second book in the Claiming Her Bears series this is a love story between Isla, Torben, Finn, Húnn, and Ràn. This book starts off where the last book ends and no I did not feel you need to read the first book although I had before, I loved the danger and mystery this book holds and the shifter parts too. I can not wait to read the next book.

This book continues the story of Isla and her bears as they work to unravel the mystery of the lack of new bear shifter births. As I was reading this story (I was about a third of the way through), I realized that Isla and her bear Alis’ names are anagrams - a little slow, but I got there! I loved how each of the bears had an individual relationship with Isla as well as the group dynamic. A great read and I’m looking forward to reading Craved by Bears.

An amazing series. This is the second book in the series. Isla has taken four mates, but now the fates want them to right the wrongs done by the fates. Isla and her mates, along with Alis( Islas bear) are supposed to capture Arcas, Alis son and bring him to justice for the wrongs done. Loved reading this book. Cant wait to read the last book in the series. Thanx.

This is book 2 you will want to read book 1 first to understand what is going on.

This one has drama suspense action. They get a visit from a ship and Isla notices something weird about one of the visitors. During the trading with the ship they find a book that gives them information to help them. Isla gets closer to her bear Alis. Great continue from the first book.

Isla and Her Bears . . .

I am impressed that this series is more than just shifter romance. Some serious issues are raised and worked into the stories. We learn more about Isla and her bears as we learn the story of the those in her life, not only her mate Torben, but the others in her reverse harem, Ran, Hunn and Finn. We also find out why the bears are no longer having cubs. There is much going on, and some surprises waiting for the reader.

I love isla and her bears. We Get to learn more about alis and the origin of bear shifters. We also get much closer to ran and hear his story. There is some action and heartbreak too. This world that Skye MacKinnon has built is so interesting that I'm sorry there is only one more book in the series. I hope we get more finn in the next one.

Awesome

Couldn't put the book down one bit went to sleep to it and woke up to it. I loved the way the human and bear sides developed in their relationship. Can't wait to see what happens when book 3 comes out. Death was the hardest decision, I don't think I would be able to decide.

Better than the first!

In the second book in the Drowning series we learn more about Isla, her men and bear shifters in general. We delve deeper into who Ran is. We learn that bear shifters are slowly becoming extinct and why. There were a few twists in this book I didn’t expect but were very welcome. I can’t wait to read the final book in the series.

Great sequel!

I really love this series - In Polar Fates we get to learn more about Alis’ history and the Fates. I really like how Alis and Isla work together and the relationship between Isla and the guys. I felt for Alis and the choice she had to make. I was excited to see that there will be a 3rd book!

Heartstrings

This one pulled on the heartstrings. Isla and her guys had to fight fate, literally, and right the wrongs of the past, while also maintaining and expanding their relationship. Bonds of family and love are tested as they try to hold on to each other without getting literally torn apart.

What just happened?

Oh man, this was great. Of course this is book two in this series so you already know and love the characters, plot and world. But the new characters in this book are great and the crazy twist made me squeak an "eeep" out loud! FYI I already locked Ran so he's no e, you can't have him! I'm so excited for book three!
