كتاب حالم وجميل عن حياة بعض الرسامين الإيطاليين، بدءا من القرن الثالث عشر وحتى القرن السادس عشر.

في حوالي 280 صفحة تعرض الكاتبة حياة 18 فنان من فناني عصر النهضة في إيطاليا، منهم بعض المشاهير مثل ليوناردو دافنشي ومايكل أنجلو ورفاييل، والغالبية العظمي منهم غير مشهورين. وتعرض المؤلفة حياة الفنانين في موطنها البيئي وحياتهم الاجتماعية في عرض سريع، وتحكي بعض تفاصيل حياتهم الشخصية، وتفاصيل تعليمهم، وعلاقاتهم بالسلطة السياسية وعلاقاتهم برجال الكنيسة.
وبعد ذلك تحكي المؤلفة تفاصيل حياتهم العملية في ميدان الفن. وتربط القصة بالقصة، مثل حياة فنان وأستاذه وتلميذه إن وجد، وكذلك حياة فنان وابنه . كل هذا العرض بأسلوب أدبي رقيق جدا وبترجمة ممتازة .
الكتاب نافذة ممتازة جا جدا علي ميدان الفن الفسيح، والكتاب يعتبر مطلع للتثقيف في ميدان الفن لمن لا يعرف فيه شيء.

لمحات سريعة عن حياة بعض الرسامين الإيطالين بالقرون الوسطى بأسلوب أدبي و ترجمة جيدة للغاية ، و مع نهاية سيرة كل رسام بعض لوحاته ولكن يعيبها أنها بالأبيض و الأسود فقط.

This is an easy read for adults, and medium advanced for older children. It is a great overview of the main Italian artists during 1400-1500s. The writing style is very pleasant with nice descriptions of the environment these artists lived in. It is a basic book about the life stories of the artists.

يضم هذا الكتاب بين دفتيه سير أعظم ثمانية عشر من المؤثرين في الفن وتاريخه عامةً وعصر النهضة خاصةً ، بما يشمل من روائع فنية وقُدسية تحكي قصص القديسين وقصص من الكتاب المُقدس قام بتصويرها هؤلاء العِظام ، توضح الكاتبة هنا سيرة كل فنان علي حِدة ونشأته ووسطه الاجتماعي والأسباب المؤدية لجعله يسلك طريقه وإسلوبه الخاص في الفن ، وبلوغ ونضوج حسه الفني علي يد أساتذته ، كل هذا في أُسلوب روائي شيق وترجمة ممتازة مع بعض الإضافات والتعقيبات الجيدة من المترجم ، وأهم ما أضافه هو تذييل نهاية كل سيرة ببعض اللوحات لكل فنان ، فقط ما أفسد تلك الإضافة هو ظهور تلك اللوحات في هذه الطبعة باللون الأبيض والأسود فضلاً علي أنها كانت غير واضحة ، مما جعلها تفقد رونقها وجمالها. راعت الكاتبة التسلسل الزمني لظهور الفنانين حتي تتضح الصورة كاملة وواضحة أمام القارئ.

مقدمة جيدة لي في الولوج لهذا العالم ومعرفة رواده.

Amy Steedman published the Knights of Art: Stories of the Italian Painters in 1907. The author was a British author of books for children, often on religious subjects (Saints), but also about literature (Dickens) and art (Italian Artists).

While the book was originally written with young adults in mind, the beautifully written Lives are entertaining for older adult readers, too.

كتاب جيد , ممل في بعض الأوقات , أفضل ما فيه هو التتابع و ربط القصص ببعضها و عدم قول المؤلفة أن الفن رحلة كل فرد يضيف إليها القليل و استنباط ذلك من الحكي ذاته:D

حينما تسير في مدينة فلورنسا التي تمتليء بالأعمال الفنية المبهرة والتي عاش بها معظم الرواد الرسامين ، يخيل إليك من تكدس الأعمال ورغم كل الدقة والاتقان أن الفن ليس صعبا جدا و أن الفنانين المؤثرين كانوا كثيرون للغاية أو هكذاخُيِّل لي، لكن هذا الأمر تغير والصور اتضحت واصبحت أكثر جمالا وروعة بسرد الراوية الرائع التي تتبع حياة الفنان منذ طفولته وتعيد سرد الرواية من خلال اللوحات متيقنة مبن الأشياء التي أثرت فيه أول ما أثرت وبالعكس تروي بعض الأحداث في حياته والتي أثرت علي رسوماته في وقت لاحق، ان حياتهم تبدوا أيضا لوحة يا للعجب لوحة بشرية مألوفه ، كما أن التكدس الذي ظننته ليس موجودا في الحقيقه فظهور فنان ليس شيئا بسيطا أو كثير الحدوث كما أن الفنانين ربما كانت أعمالهم في مكان واحد الآن لكنهم تفصلهم ربما أزمنة بعيده، ،
الكتاب يدور حول مدينتين فلورنسا كميراث أكبر وفينيسيا كموروث أقل لكن هذا التباين في المكان يرينا بوضوح كما أرادت الكاتبه كيف أن المكان أثر بشكل هائل في روح الفنان وانعكس ذلك بالطبع علي أعماله ..
من الكتب الرائعه
والترجمه جيده لكن هناك أخطاء كارثيه في ترجمة الأعلام والأسماء

في البداية سيرة حياة الفنانين العظماء كهولاء كان يجب ان تكون مفصلة اكتر وتحتوي علي معلومات عن حياتهم وفنهم اكتر لا مجرد مرور الكرام علي حياتهم والاسوء لم يذكر اغلب اعمالهم بل ذكر بعض منها فقط خيبة امل بحق ...

Love this old classic. An awesome collection of short age-appropriate historical biographies of important Italian artists with pictures that kids can appreciate. The book does not ignore the Christian culture the art came out of and indeed explains the its influence on the art. This is the only children's book I know of that talks about Fra Angelico from an artistic perspective. I know of no children's book about Ghirlandaio, new or old. For cheaper copies look in the public domain but you may prefer the older hard-bound copies with illustrations in sanguines, inks or glossy plates of the artists works for reading 'en famille'. Nota Bene: This book is based on Vassari's Life of the Artists and should be read for the same reason that Vassari is still read by adults today despite historical imperfections, to appreciate how the artists were perceived in their time and to grasp the personalities and the spirit of the age.
