Our thought lives have incredible power over our mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. In fact, our thoughts can either limit us to what we believe we can do or release us to experience abilities well beyond our expectations. When we choose a mindset that extends our abilities rather than placing limits on ourselves, we will experience greater intellectual satis ...more

I received an advance copy from Dr. Leaf as I have worked and studied in the field of neuroanatomy and neuroscience early on in my career. Dr. Leaf explains current and recent research about the brain, the mind and our thinking that have been undergoing a lot of research worldwide by the scientific community. A lot of things that were previously thought about the brain and the mind have been debunked but it is not the myth busting that makes this book good as much as it is the flair that Dr. Lea ...more
Dr. Leaf has called it more of a textbook than anything else, and I think that's the best way to approach it: take your time, study, make notes, and apply as you go. I've used her 21 Day Brain Detox in the past and can attest to the power behind what she shares, as a lot of the concepts behind that program are outlined in this book. Looking forward to seeing more results from the additional concepts as I work on implementing and understanding them.

An issue with her writing is consistently that

This is by far the most practical book Dr. Leaf has written. It is easy to comprehend, or as she suggests, easy to break off into bite size pieces, savor, and let them nourish your mind and brain. I am hopeful to make great progress in my journey to a healthy, energized life with the tools in this book. It is full of wisdom and thoughtful commentary and useful steps to renovate the parts of my house hit by the hurricanes of life, where doors have long been shut and locked because no one had the ...more

I underlined about half of the book! This book is filled with rich information that is not only scientific and biblical, it makes sense! :-)

Dr. Leaf does a great job of explaining something technical in a down-to-earth way where it is understandable. The short chapters allow time for the concepts to sink in (and make it easy to read when you have short amounts of time) and the activation tips at the end of each chapter are perfect for im

It’s not often that I come across a book that totally brings together, in one coherent statement, the truth about life and humanity I have realized through nearly a half-century of living. Dr. Caroline Leaf does just that in her recent tome, Think, Learn, Succeed.

Before I explain a bit about this book and why it resonates with me so very much, I must explain my own life. As a former minister, social worker, and now educator, I am very familiar with a wide variety of theories as to why people

This book is exceptional. I have read all of Caroline's books and they have helped me tremendously to get rid of all of the thoughts that were keeping me from being the best me I would like to be. Her systems are easy to use and they don't take much time. Just taking a few minutes every day will produce huge results. This book takes this to the next level!

Leaf offers scientific information on the mind, learning and memory. Much is from her own research but she includes insights from the work of others as well. The quality of her information is evidenced by the number of footnotes and suggested reading list, about forty percent of the ARC I read.

Leaf also provides tools to help readers develop successful thinking habits. She writes about the power of mindsets, the unique way each of us thinks, and her Switch Your Brain 5-Step Learning Process.

I have always been very intriqued with Dr. Caroline Leaf and her epistemology on the brain and it's correlation with our well being and now in depth with the mind as two working together as one. Think= To become deeper and clearer in the thought process. Learn= Discover the untapped capability there truly is to explore. Succeed= Applying the principles on a consistent basis to thrive, attain and achieve all that anyone seeks to improve their overall ventures in life. There are many expressions t ...more

While I can easily see the benefit of Dr. Leaf's methods on those of us looking to be more positive, proactive, and understand how we process information. I read books like these in a whole new light with my husband's severe chronic depression diagnosis. I was challenged to see how I think on a daily basis, and have been implementing some of her techniques. her advice on affirmations has become a go-to during my morning meditations. Recommends it for: those struggling with school or college, or ruled by destructive thought patterns
I got this book mainly because I felt like I needed to reshape my brain & how I think. I watched an interview/discussion between Dr. Leaf & Steven Furtick a while back & thought that what she was saying made a lot of sense. She talked about renewing your mind, taking thoughts & addressing them, and neural pathways and all sorts of brainy stuff. She was easy to understand, and even though I'm sure she has the ability to talk about neuroscience in a sophisticated way, spoke about complicated thing ...more

In my experience with opening a book by Dr. Caroline Leaf, I always receive so much more information than I knew could be held between the covers of a single volume! Her newest release from Baker Books, entitled “Think, Learn, Succeed: Understanding and Using Your Mind to Thrive at School, the Workplace, and Life” is no exception, and is in fact one of her most practical and accessible books to date.

Dr. Caroline Leaf has done it again. I have been following Dr. Leaf for many years. I own and have read several of her books and DVD’s as well as watching her on TV, and I have subscribed to her Gift Profile and 21 Day Brain Detox programs.

Dr. Leaf’s new books Think Learn Succeed is another valuable resource in my personal life transformation. Whenever we talk about the brain it becomes somewhat technical and for the average person that is not a doctor it can be a challenge. I think this is per

Dr. Leaf opens up a whole new, healthy way of thinking for me. I have purchased and read most of her other books, but Think, Learn, Succeed is my favorite to date. This book is so helpful and will be one I regularly go back to for review. The chapters have “Activation Tips” to reinforce the material covered. This is wonderful in leading me to take pause and think more deeply about certain mindsets. Dr. Leaf really makes this highly complex information understandable and move into useable applica ...more

We live in an era where mental illnesses are significantly increasing, and technology is hindering deep thinking moments that lead to increasing our long-term memory.

Dr. Caroline Leaf does an outstanding job of providing astounding insight into the way our brain is designed to think, learn and succeed in life, school, and the workplace.

Many people mistakenly believe as we succumb to the aging process, our brain deteriorates. Dr. Leaf gives us solid scientific evidence that proves our brain can i

This is by far the most practical book Dr. Leaf has written! "Think, Learn, Succeed" answers many questions that researches have been trying to answer for a long time. First, she digs into the area of learning and why so many students have a difficult time learning and retaining information. We've all struggled with brain fog at one time or another, but for many students and adults this is apart of their everyday life and she provides powerful information and resources to help the struggling stu ...more

Practical and educational

I really like this book. The advice and tips are simple enough for 'lay people', and Dr Leaf has a way of explaining neuroscience in the simplest and easiest way to understand without watering down the most important aspects. It gives me a whole new perspective on how my brain works. Reading this book is a process of un-learning and relearning everything I know about thinking and how to learn. It's truly refreshing to learn that we don't actually have pre-programmed emot

As with everything else I’ve read from Dr Leaf, this book was excellent and has the potential to be absolutely life changing. Her research and the tools she’s develop because of it are incredibly detailed yet she manages to explain even the most complex topics in a way that the average person can understand (after a few readings sometimes!). Overall I would highly recommend any of her books but this one in particular felt like a good “if you only read ONE” option because it combines so much of h ...more

Allow your mind to wander. Think about your thoughts. Reconceptualize negative thoughts.
Observe your thoughts as if watching a movie.
Match your words and thoughts. Consider who you are becoming and focus on progress.
You control your emotions; you may not be responsible for the trigger, but you are for the management of them.
Forgive, and reconceptualize the memory.
Choose happiness. The joy is in the journey. Connect with community. Laugh. Have fun.

I have been a fan of Dr. Leaf for a few years now. She has a wonderful way of explaining neuroscience in practical terms to illuminate our thought patterns and processes. This book is not only informative; it is a WORKBOOK! I love that I was able to examine my own "Cycle of Thinking" (thought processes) using her abridged Gift Profile. In this book, Dr. Leaf teaches about our thought lives and controlling our minds. According to Dr. Leaf, there are seven modules of thinking. As you read you will have several opportunities to do some homework. Grab a piece of paper and work through the exercises.I don't think this is a one-time read. I ...more
