A sweet shojo story of a soft-spoken high school freshman and her quest to make friends, Waiting for Spring will delight fans of earnest, fun, and dramatic shojo like Kimi ni Todoke and Say I Love You.
Mizuki is a shy girl who's about to enter high school, and vows to open herself up to new friendships. Of course, the four stars of the boys' basketball team weren't exactly the friends she had in mind! Yet, when they drop by the café where she works, the five quickly hit it off. Soon she's been accidentally thrust into the spotlight, targeted by jealous girls. And will she expand her mission to include... love?
okay this was the cutest volume in a while! i looove that ending, can it get any better. now i need to go buy the next volumes because what am i supposed to do know? mid volume i was conflicted with if i shipped mitsuki with aya-chan or towa, and i think that ending has me very sure it’s… towa! eeeep! i can’t get over that end!!
3.5 ⭐️ The ending of this book was everything. Everything in this volume was so cute the festival, the interactions, and the growth we see in some of the characters were really good. And the art in this was fantastic it continues to get better in each volume. Also, love that we are still getting more of Rui because he continues to be an even more interesting character. Then Towa at the end when he is expressing himself to Mitsuki made me so happy. I just wish we had more of Mitsuki’s confidence that was in previous volumes like she planned on confessing to Towa but her moment was ruined. She seems to be going back a bit from the growth she has been making. Overall, really enjoyed Towa’s continued growth and I hope to see more from the others.
This one hits the school festival, and we finally see Towa speak his feelings! I adore the friendships here so much! It's not much different from other shojos, but it's fun and cute.
*3.75/5!!! i like aya’s character but i don’t like some of his actions (he lowkey reminds me of gu jun pyo from boys over flowers but like,,, kinder) but rui content??? yaaaas!!!! also, it has more substance now though i lowkey expected more from thing in the end, if you know what i mean....
Young Aya hurts my heart! Present day festival. Just peacocking and shenanigans. Towa invites Mitsuki to his house to only learn she was at Aya’s the night before heheheh. Then selfie and Towa’s confession!
Some really cute things in here. I love Anashin's artwork so much. There's the school festival and both Mitsuki and Towa realizing their feelings. I quite like Aya-chan, sorry Towa.
But really, how can he compete? Especially when Aya-chan wears glasses <3 <3 <3
So many confessions in this volume!! I really should have waited until I had the next volume with me so I wouldn't have to wait for my library loan to come in. I NEED to know what's going to happen next!
This manga is seriously the sweetest thing. It's just so pure and I love it. And now I will be impatiently waiting for my hold on the next volume to come in because I am so ready to read more.
all love but im not liking how unsupportive reina is of mitsuki. like i get its the humour of her character but like damn! let my girl have a reliable friend!
OMG TOYA CONFESSED!!!!!!! I am so emotional right now! Needless to say this is such a beautiful volume that gave me all the feels! Super excited for volume 8!!! Hope this series never ends!

A great series with unconventional yet super fun friendships. The character dynamics were great and there were many hilarious and embarrassing moments.
The romance was well-written but never balanced between the two male love interests. The protagonist clearly loved the main love interest only. The second male love interest, who just so happened to be the protagonist’s childhood friend, was extremely pushy and forceful. His every advance was evaded and unwanted yet he still seemed to think it was okay to pursue the protagonist. At one point she outright told him to stop but due to seem weird aggressive competitiveness between the two male love interests, which likened the protagonist to some possession to be fought over or some game to be won, he continued.
The sports element of this manga was refreshing to see and I liked that it was given just as much importance as the romance. I liked that the games weren’t predictable, but in the end the match that mattered between the two male love interests didn’t at all go to plan in a way that made it all feel so unfinished. I’ll admit it got a bit tiresome seeing all the characters take the basketball so seriously like it was life and death to the point that the protagonist was not only understanding but also expecting the main love interest to love basketball more than her.
Aside from some weird and questionable aspects this was a great and enjoyable shojo romance/sports manga!
This is about Mitsuki, a shy girl who starts at a new high school and wants to make new friends. She accidentally befriends the 4 stars of the boys' basketball team, getting especially close to Towa.
Okay at least you get a little bit more perspective on Aya-chan, but I still think he's determined to keep Mitsuki the same. And I don't trust him. He keeps pushing more on her and confusing her.
But I think this is my favorite one of the series so far because of Towa!
The ongoing competition between the boys is getting more and more intense. The characters are learning about themselves and others. The plot is thickening, which is super exciting, too!
My favorite part in this volume was the cosplay. They looked great but there wasn't some theme so it looked a little random.
Still loving this very much! What really killed me though was the bonus manga... their friendship is so precious, I love them all. ^^ (And Aya-chan should really back off. She doesn’t want you, so just stop pushing it.)
