Freedom. Love. Duty. War. When those things collide, human Clara finds herself faced with the Revant named Renall, and choosing between love — and the life she planned...
Clara Waters is aboard a supposed brideship headed to a planet far from her home world, it’s her punishment for being a carder and carrying currency on a world ruled by an oppressive and dangerous government that often lets its poor citizens starve.
The ship is taken over by wreckers headed up by four brothers, none of whom know that there are brides aboard as the ship is listed as a mere non-life-form carrying cargo ship. When the wreckers attack to strip the ship Renall, the eldest, finds himself face to face with Clara, who is not about to go down without a fight.
Clara does not want to be attracted to Renall. He owns a gambling hall on Orbitary and he makes her an offer she can’t refuse. He will reunite her with her family and remove the chip that would prevent her from escaping the Federation’s clutches as a prisoner, but at a high price. Not to mention he is betrothed to a female of his own dying race, and not just any female, a pureblooded Revant whose father is the king of a planet next to the one Renall and his brothers are determined to buy.
Renall does not want to fall for her either. Clara, as beautiful and tough as she is, could cost him everything he has spent centuries working for. But he can’t stay away from her either.
With the Federation loosing a spy into the brother’s midst and futures hanging in the balance Clara and Renall will have to decide whether to admit their feelings and forge a life together, or flee to opposite ends of the galaxy in search of the shelter they both so desperately need.

Because I review on Amazon I often forget to review here but I have to let anyone who reads sci-fi to definitely try Celeste Raye and her Revant Warriors. Prepare to get sucked into the world she builds that is so much of what we have now as well as what could so easily be our future. Fall in love with these hot as hell aliens, what they stand for, and the women strong enough to stand at their sides.
The book is well written and interesting. The characters had depth and the story drew me in right away. It is not heavy on the steamy scenes (+ or - depending on one's preference). The romance seemed a bit hastily concluded at the end. Still, a great start of a series. Look forward to additional stories in the series.
Clara was one of the poor people on Earth. Her family only survived through running illegal gaming tables on Earth. Clara trusted her boyfriend who turned her and her family in for the reward money. Clara had a choice of prison and death or volunteering to go out on a bride ship. Unknown to her the government is really planning on sending the women on board the spaceship to become sex slaves on an alien planet. However their flight was interrupted by wreckers who attack their ship for the materials on board. The wreckers had no clue that the brides were the cargo. The wreckers rescue Clara and her friends and tell them the true destination of the ship. Horrified by their government's plans, the woman make deals with the wreckers to gain their freedom. Clara will be used as a gamer. The profits from her winnings will go to pay for her freedom. They will also help her free her family from debt. Renall and his brothers have a plan. They have their eyes on an uninhabited planet that they are planning to buy. They need lots of money to buy their planet, buy supplies and arrange for protection. Renall has made a deal with warriors from a nearby planet to marry the leader's daughter and for a temple in return for protection. The need for money has forced Renall and his brothers to be wreckers and other risky businesses. Renall wants to use Clara's skills with the cards to raise money for their planet. However working closely with Clara causes him to develop strong feelings for her. Will he giv in to his feelings for Clara or keep his promise to his brothers and promised bride? This is a great story with fantastic world building. I can't wait to read about the other brothers and women on board ship. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
Very bland in terms of Scf-fi, and when the author attempted to dive more into the sci-fi elements they came across simplistic yet somehow so very confusing. The story is extremely fast paced and the stakes while in theory sound high they came off small and easy to over come.
The writing conventions where also a big struggle. The dialogue felt stiff and unnatural. Almost every piece of dialogue was prefaced with ‘character said’ and for me it created this unnatural flow that took me out of the moment. The characters also felt like they had no personality, I’m a reader who envisions what I read and I also give voices to characters and unfortunately nothing came to life in my head for this.
The romance itself was less then desirable, it was so quick and their little ‘spat’ was resolved so fast and mostly off page that it left nothing to desire really. Like how was Renall able to so easily call off his engagement? What was he able to offer that it still allowed him to buy the planet? Like I’m suppose to accept that just the money was enough to end it all? Also He apparently had enough money to buy the planet as well as buy his way out of his engagement even though he said he was struggling to make the money to buy the planet? Is this a long term payment agreement, is he technically in debt to his ex-fiancée’s father now? All of this was swept under the rug and that frustrates me so much.
Definitely needed more to flush the story out better and more life needed to be given the characters. Not sure if I’ll continue the series.
I totally enjoyed Renall (Revant Warriors). This wonderful alien SF romance reminds me a lot of a "How the West Was Won" type of epic: the human heroine is headed out to the far galaxy as a mail-order bride, the alien hero is a displaced prince/refugee turned raider/desparado, and they meet when he and his brothers raid the brides' ship. They end up on a galactic frontier gambling planet, where the marauding brothers hold a legit casino business in order to smuggle their stolen cargo and do the necessary money-laundering. Their ultimate goal is simple - retirement from the outlaw biz and their very own "home on the range" on an unsettled planet. Enemies abound: a corrupt and cruel government, a murky network of enforcers and spies, other vicious intergalactic raiders, allies and fellow "victims" who are not what they seem - the backstory of betrayals and the suspense of life on the lam makes for terrific reading. So does the bittersweet romance between H and H - right up until the end there seems to be no possible way to get to HEA. A cast of well-written and sympathetic secondary characters backs up two of the strongest and most principled outlaws (H and h) in the genre. It's so wonderfully done, I grabbed book 2 right away. P.S. There's a prequel - FREE - if you sign up for the author's mailing list. I did, I read it, and it's totally worth it for the fantastic world-building and the tragically illuminating backstory.
This sci-fi story is a little different. The earth is ravaged. Rich people live above the ground in the sky, while the poor live underground. There are a lot of rules to live by and it is ruled by men. Any man can sell their wife or daughter to repay a debt. If you are caught with currency of any kind, you were put in prison. Clara and her family were betrayed to the government by some one she trusted. Her family and her were "carders" and dealt in money at the gaming tables. When they were caught, her family was imprisoned and she was sold as a bride to another planet. Renall and his three brothers and crew are "wreckers" . They salvage everything from spaceships that are still flying including all cargo. The ship that Clara is on was not registered as a bride ship or that is carried human cargo. So they meet when Renall and crew board the ship. There is weird things happening in this story; espionage, betrayals, mind wipes and memory implants to name a few. I would be interested in reading the next book to find out which of the brothers is next.
Spaceships, space travel, humans aliens in a story about how they come together. Deceit from your own government, and a yearning for something you didn’t even know you wanted is what the story is about. It has very strong women in it, very handsome Alien warriors, Clara struggles being sent away on a bride ship only to realize it wasn’t and she has the only choice between life and death to go with the Warriors and her struggle of survival. Renall has lost his planet his family and almost all its citizens except a few plus his three brothers they’ve decided to buy a planet of their own and start a new world. Clara nor Renall think that they not only deserve each other but can never have each other it’s great the way the story unfolds and I look forward to reading the next chapter for the next brother
I like SFR, and there probably wasn’t anything really wrong with this book, it just wasn’t the flavor of cotton candy I like. It was cotton candy for the brain, of course, not much substance, but something to snack on while you wait for your real meal, and sometimes, I’m all about cotton candy, but this book just wasn’t the right flavor for me. What was my problem? I think I just don’t like evil galactic empires as the main villain. I can deal with them existing, as long as there’s a real target, not just some big faceless governing body. That’s it. The flavor of this conflict was man against society/government, and the resolution was simply to leave it all behind. That’s fine, just not my thing. So, do I recommend? Sure. Read it if you like this flavor of cotton candy for the brain.
I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I like this book. The characters are great and you can actually kinda relate to them even though they are in space. It is a great start to a series. I also like that she was descriptive about the aliens so you can really see in mind what they look like.
The only downfall of this book is the fact she has no prequel or an explanation on what is currently happening in the world. I got a little confused when she talking about a chip in the spine, living below, food credit. I think if she took a chapter or few paragraphs to explain what is going on it would make the story better.
I enjoyed this book, the characters are written well as is the story. When Renall and Clara's eyes meet there is a connection that they both try to ignore. The chemistry between all the characters was great. The story had parts that could have been explained further like the chips in the womens spine and the different jobs that people had. I would have liked a bit of a back story to the characters considering this is a first in the series too. On other parts of the story there is plenty detail for your imagination to picture. A great read. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I don’t read much sci-fi, I’m more of a fantasy girl, but I liked this.
Renall had good worldbuilding, with an interesting situation for the characters to be in. I really liked Clara and Renall, and I look forward to the rest of the books in the series.
The editing left something to be desired in some places, but it was an ARC, so hopefully there was another run-through, as I spotted several errors.
Characters: 5 stars.
Worldbuilding: 4 stars.
Plot: 4 stars. The ending was happy, but seemed a tiny bit too easy. Still, it is a romance.
3 books and 1 to go. Hopefully the wait for Jevel's story won't be too long in coming. Very interesting and intriguing way of dealing with post apocalyptic earth and the advent of aliens to our planet, or what's left of it. This was a great story. Enticing enough to keep you interested. Intriguing enough to make you wonder what will happen next. Interesting enough to keep you reading and thinking that maybe some of the events could really happen. Definitely a book needed to be added to your TBR list and your library. Don't miss out on a good series and experience.
Renall is the oldest of a group of 4 brothers that "wreck" ships and strip them of all valuables during one of there hauls they capture a ship caring several women who have been forced on it as brides being sent to women hungry planets. Renall is very drawn to one of these women, Clara though fights his attraction because she does not fit into his future plans. Clara after being saved by the wreckers from the ship and the slave ship... not bride ship, agreed to work on the planet as a "carder"/dealer for Renall. I like this story and the twists that was involved while Renall and Clara fought their attraction and lost coming together at the end with a HEA that keeps you thinking about the characters and wondering "what next".
An interesting sci fi romance with great action scenes. The sparks between Renall & Clara occur from almost the time of their meeting. Renall and his brothers’ “rescue” of the brides, although unexpected, turned out to be the best thing they could have done. The final scenes were heartwarming. I would recommend this book to others. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I enjoyed reading this book.Clara Waters is a carder who has been caught as it is illegal to be one on her world. She thinks she is on a bride ship as that is her punishment, but her government lied. The ship she is on is attacked by wreckers , Renall is the eldest of the group. What happens after that made me just want to keep reading. Looking forward to the next book. I was received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I recieved a free advanced copy for a review. I liked the storie, it shows Cara who is strong but also has a heart and wants to help her fellow beings. Renall in the first part of the book only cares for himself and his own (brothers, his people) But luck for us he come to his senses. This is a stiry for people who love sci-fi romanse but if you are looking fir a nice read with a bit of fun an adventure this is a must read.
I received a free copy of this story in exchange for an honest review
Although this is not a book I'd usually read I took a chance and found myself enjoying it a lot. At first I struggled with some of the sentence structures, but once I got a feel for the writing I had no problems. Unusual plot, not a lot of action depicted, but still a very enjoyable book.
The New World in this story is very interesting. Completely unique compared to anything I’ve read. This story does drag a little, not really enough action after the beginning and the characters don’t have enough development to really draw you in and make this a great story, but it’s still a good read
Nice story of hope, disaster, disappointed, New Beginnings and love. Second chances of living in a new world of peace, clean air, and food. Finding a family, and friends to learn to live again.
Good story, but the end felt rushed. HEA with only a slight cliffhanger to let you know this is going to be a part of a series. Definitely going to read the next in the series.
I enjoyed this book very much and look forward to reading the others in the series. If like me alien romance is your ‘thing’ then you can’t do much better than to read these books.
Very good beginning for new series. I liked it. Little twist on world building they want to buy a planet. Good light read to start out but for see problems to come.
This story was cleverly written, introducing new beings and situations i had never thought of before. It was heartbreaking but with an hea in the end. A great book.
I love the drama, all the twists and turns. The characters were so interesting, there are lots of stories to be told. Oh and definitely a delightful romance.
