Holy Smokes! (hee hee, see what I did there?) Fierian encompasses all the things you love about the Abiassa’s Fire series. The characters. Prophecy. Fights. Mystery. and Romance.

Seriously, this book has it all and one cannot help but try and devour it in one setting. It was impossible for me to do, because I was taking my time, letting the details sink in from the Nine. And my number one thought while reading this was: why isn’t this a movie? Seriously, anyone have contacts in the film industry? Have them read this series.

*I received a free copy from the publisher and was not required to give a review. This review is my own, honest opinion.

At last!!! It has been quite a wait for this final book in the Abiassa’s Fire trilogy, but it is finally here, and every bit as fantastic as I was expecting it to be. If only it wasn’t the end! I’m really not ready to let go of these characters yet. Two in particular... But more on that in a minute.

I said it in my review for the previous book in this series, but it bears saying again: Boy, can this gal write! And it’s not just the words themselves; it’s everything they give life to—the characters, the plot, the world she’s created. It’s addictive, I tell you! As you would expect from high/epic fantasy, the showdown between good and evil is the climax the series works towards, but a big part of what makes this series—in fact, all of Ronie Kendig’s books—so compelling is the diversity of the relationships that play out along the way. And I’m not just talking romance (although she’s created one of my all-time favourites in this last in the series). I’m talking familial, political, even the characters’ perceptions of themselves. They provide so much of that coiled tension that I love in this author’s books, and it is the growth and resolution in these relationships that provides much of the satisfaction this series has given me.

These characters have come such a long way from where they were at the beginning of the series, particularly Haegan. He gets thrust into his role as Fierian completely unprepared (as in, bedridden unprepared) and every challenge, every failure, every setback pushes him on to better himself far beyond what he would ever have believed himself capable of. I love his character arc. But if I’m going to be honest, I’m a complete sucker for Tili. He caught my attention in the last book, and totally hogged it in this one. And he has definitely met his match in the woman who catches his eye. Okay, I was trying not to, but *SQUEEEEEEEE* Only Ronie Kendig could write the kind of sparks that fly there!

Even if you’re not usually a fantasy reader, I would encourage you to pick up this series. It’s compelling, it’s totally absorbing, it’s flat-out fantastic in every sense of the word! More please!

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not influenced the content of my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.

Fierian was an amazing conclusion to this powerful fantasy series! I highly recommend reading all three books in order, otherwise you will not know what is going on! I also suggest that you have the next book in the series ready to go for when you finish each story. You are going to want to know what happens next as quickly as possible!

The author did a fantastic job creating this fantasy realm. I was definitely pulled into this story of ultimate good vs evil, truth vs lies, and power vs sacrificial love. Old squabbles and strongholds were broken down as new alliances formed. The raw intensity of the struggles that these characters faced kept me eagerly turning pages.

There were also some absolutely beautiful love stories that developed within this entire series. I loved watching these characters change and grow, both in how they related to their friends and families and in their connections with those who captured their hearts. Great series from start to finish!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

A good book is one which ignites deep emotions and feelings in you; so much so that when you finish the book you can’t think about anything but the book, and what you experienced.
Some of the most treasured classic books which have this ability are by JR Tolkien’s, The Lord of the Ring Series and CS Lewis’s, Chronical of Narnia Series. These books bring about questions and lessons which we can apply to our lives today while painting a captivating and compelling story.
In this series by Ronie Kendig, I find the same thing. She has written three books which are truly epic and full of lessons which will stay with me long after I’ve read these stories.
In this last book of the series, we find Heagan struggling with the dark side. I love how Ronie Kendig has stated it,
“War raging without and within, Abiassa’s people face their greatest need. But before the Fierian can fulfill his destiny, he has to defeat the enemy in his own mind.”
I find this so relatable to our lives now in this real world. We often struggle with doubts, fears, and powers out of our control. If we just choose to listen to God’s directions and trust His ways we can defeat the “dark ones” in our lives.
While reading this book I had so many emotions building up in me. There were a few times of humor and fun, as well as times of deep hurt and pain. Many times, I had to step away from reading it because it got so intense. I didn’t want to read what I knew was coming, yet it compelled me to come back to it. My heart ached and rejoiced for the characters throughout the whole series. There might have also been a couple times I shouted at them and said, NO, NO, NO! But I couldn’t put it down. It kept me so engaged and now I feel like I’ve truly been through the battle with them.
It’s like so many have said before, “Sometimes I forget myself in a book. And when I have to stop reading it takes me a minute to remember where I am. Or who I am.” That’s exactly how I’ve felt since reading this series.
I received this book from the publisher for an honest review, all opinions are my own. I truly enjoyed this new series, and I HIGHLY recommend reading it.

Engaging. Heartfelt. Stunning imagery. Battle of good verses evil...this epic conclusion to Abiassa’s Fire is good beyond words. Stepping into book #3 without reading “Embers” and “Accelerant” would be akin to starting in the middle of “Lord of the Rings” by Tolkien. You would be lost and lose too much backstory. Plus, it is an amazing series! I found I had to go back through the last book to stay on top of the characters, relationships and landmarks. The first part took me a bit to catch on as many battles and struggles in relationships are going on until the war can bring them all together ...or tear them apart. Then the book totally takes off! Forget sleep or the real world. Kendig pulled me in as well as CS Lewis and Tolkien. The Fierian takes on a whole new depth, as do each of the characters. The ending was epic and wholly satisfying. High praise to this stunning series. Movie, please!?!!

I was given an advanced reader copy for my honest opinion and that is what I have given. I can’t wait to read it again...yes, it is that good!

Fierian would've reached 5 stars for me because it is complexly written, thought up and beautiful, with unique and compelling characters. Everything Kendig writes is just mind-bogglingly creative and epic. Only reason it didn't is because...I WAS CONFUSED. So confused, for such a great portion of the book/series that I got frustrated that characters were being plopped in, left, right and centre, and they had no backstory.
Seeing as that the names are all quite different, I couldn't keep track of 50 plus characters and remember their backstories from books 1 & 2. I kept going back to the Character Glossary at the beginning of the book with the main characters, but most of the people I was wondering about weren't in there.
Same thing happened with locations. I was so stumped, and I kept looking back at the map in the beginning of the book and thinking, "Seriously, where is this location that's being mentioned?"
Another confusing part was the history aspect. Now, I don't want a huge download, but with the Fantasy genre especially I feel like it's somewhat important to give your reader's a history of the planet. Like, what IS the planet? WHO are the people groups and their histories? I was so confused when a people group would be mentioned with no accompanying "this is who this people group is" and a sentence or two explanation of their culture/history.
I'm not sure if it's because I read the third book about three months after I read the first two, or because I don't read much in the Fantasy genre, or because it was actually confusing...I can't say.

For much of the book, I was so confused/stumped on who a character was, what their people group was, what history I was supposed to view them through, etc. Imagine my surprise when I get to the end of the book and I discover an alphabetical character list and list of locations/creatures. Because there was already a glossary in the front, I never thought, even once to look in the back! I was so annoyed, because I went for so much of the book being confused, and the glossary was lurking in the backmatter and I didn't even know it!

The first half of the book felt (to me) quite disjointed and slow. Because of the aforementioned confusion regarding the characters, I found it hard to track when the POV jumped around so sporadically. I feel like the length could've been halved, considering how the first half of the book seemed like you were turning around and around and not actually moving forward. The stuff with Haegan and the Infantessa felt long and drawn out, like the same scene was taking place over and over again.

The second half of the book, however, I LOVED. All the characters developments were amazing. Astadia and Tili's relationship--YES. I was just doing such a happy dance seeing it unfold. They had amazing chemestry. I'd love to see more relationships come together like theirs. Haegan's continued growth--yes. Draccian--what up dude but--YIKES!! I wished we had've gotten more Thiel & Haegan time, but alas, such was what the plot allowed. Oddly enough, Tili & Asadia were my favourite characters.

Apart from the aforementioned confusion, of which there as A LOT (and that is the ONLY reason this book got 4 stars instead of 5)--Fierian was so complexly written. What an array of brainstorming genius! As usual, Kendig has done an excellent job in creating a world and making it epic and glorious. Giving us swoon-worthy characters and many gut-wrenching moments.

In the end, if it weren't for the slower pace in the first half and my inordinate confusion, this book might've had me doing a serious joy dance. Even so, the second half had me pretty hooked, so I still consider this book a win in its own right.

I'm going to try my best to do this book and the series justice here, so please bear with me.

I'm not a huge fan of the fantasy genre. It takes a story that is so mindbendingly epic to hold my attention, and such treasures are rare and precious finds.

I can count the number of such series' on less than two hands. But Abiassa's Fire and Fierian give me hope for more.

When I do discover such a novel, I get swept up into the world the author has created. I become completely invested in the outcome of the tale and the well being of the characters.

When I finished Tolkien's masterpiece series, I sobbed. It was over, and I didn't want to leave. When I finished Lewis' time-tested set of magical journeys through the wardrobe, I felt lost in the real world, having dwelled in Narnia for hundreds of pages.

As I turned the final page of Fierian, I wept. Both with joy because I finally knew how everything ends, and with sorrow, because I had to step out of that world and back into mine.

What Ronie Kendig accomplished with her military suspense is outstanding. But what she has done with Abiassa's Fire is masterful. From powerful description to realistic fantasy dialogue, to memorable imaginary friends and a completely unheard of premise (the ability to wield fire? I mean, c'mon, that alone is mindbendingly fantabulous!)...

Kendig has crafted high fantasy of the highest caliber. I truly believe that Abiassa's Fire was Kendig's destiny, that she was born to craft this series.

Fierian caps off an epic, sweeping high fantasy trilogy that leaves the reader both satisfied and wanting more. . .just one more chapter, just one more moment spent in this incredible world.

I can hardly wait to see what Ronie Kendig dreams up next. I just know it will be epic.

This is the final instalment in the series, one that started with such promise in Embers where Kendig brought her fast pace, thrill a minute action writing to a fantasy setting. Both the second in the series and this one didn’t have that same energy or pace nor action and suffered as a result. Both books struggled under the large volume of characters and giftings, multiple storylines and the jumping between those stories.

Don’t get me wrong there is some great storytelling, world building and character development which makes these stories very readable and enjoyable. However, I do wonder if they were tighter 350-page stories with a few less minor characters and greater emphasis on Haegen and Thiel, Tili and Kaelyria plus Poired the Dyrth, the bad guy the stories would have moved at great pace with clear motive and determined action to the threat of the Dyrth.

I found I was often saying to myself, ‘C’mon get on with it, go get the bad guy, stop fussing about.” It led to frustration and combined with so many characters, most with unusual names, kept pulling me out of the story.

One of the interesting aspects of this series is how little page-time, Poired actually gets. It surprised me in the second one we didn’t see him much, and nor did we see him much this time. He’s a great bad guy, a marvellous Kendig creation, and I think the story would have been enhanced with more of him in the story rather than the threat of him. Once again, it led me to keep yelling at the good guys, “go get the guy, stop talking and go do it.”

Yes, fantasy readers will find lots to love in this series and as seen by the reviews is highly regarded, and as it’s Kendig’s first fantasy, she’s done a fabulous job.

This boooook. Oh my goodness. This book. I have loved this series so so much!! The heart of grace and passion that’s so evident in the writing just overflows and sticks with you. Like a hearty meal, there’s so much to take in and be nourished by. I’m in absolute love with the world and the characters. What a journey. I will be reading these again and giving them to everyone I can. I would go on on and except there would be spoilers. Suffice to say it’s a fabulous book and a well written trilogy. This could not have ended better or been more beautiful. I am in awe.

A really good book is not only well written and creative, but also reaches off the pages into the reader’s reality. This book did that for me. I remember the exact moment when one of the main themes of the story hit me like a ton of bricks in the middle of my day. It was beautifully encouraging when I realized that Haegan’s struggles (and therefore his potential victories as well) were the same as mine. I’m always impressed when an author gets into my head, and Ronie Kendig did that big time. Well done.

Fierian, a book I have eagerly been waiting for: the final installment of one massively complex series – almost too complex. I had a lot of difficulty starting into this book. Mostly because I could hardly remember who anyone was. There are a lot of odd and sometimes similar names in this book. There was a glossary, but it didn’t always give me enough information to remember what had happened involving those characters. I highly recommend that if you want to read Fierian, go back and read the last two books first. It will save you some confusion. But on the bright side, there was almost nothing of the unintelligible ancient language in this book.
Once I finally got my bearings, the story was....

I think this author is a fantastic writer. She sure knows how to build suspense and then keep it on a slow boil. She's, also, good at tossing in some hot, yet clean-read, romance. This, her first fantasy series, is a highly believable winner with an epic climax. What a page turner; it took extreme will power to set this book down!

Wonderful Series

Wow! What a great series. Couldn't put it down till I finished it. Thank you so much for great characters, powerful examples of right and wrong and the ability of different people to join together
against evil. Definite comparisons to our Lord and His dealings with us, His children.

The inflaming was a great analogy. The characters remained empathetic and lovable. The thing I struggled with in this series was the spiritual hierarchy.

Just one loose thread for me ... a certain accelerant.

I really enjoyed this fun and exciting book. Sometimes I felt compelled to skip ahead and then backtrack to make sure my favorite characters would turn out all right! The world of the Abiassa’s Fire series is creative and intriguing. Fierian wrapped up several story lines in a nice package. While I would like to see the future stories of some of the characters, I felt a great sense of satisfaction when I finished this book. It was rewarding to see all this pieces of this series fit together in the final conclusion.
