JC Andrijeski is a USA TODAY bestselling author who writes sexy, apocalyptic and cyberpunk-y science fiction romance and mystery books, often with a metaphysical bent. Current works include the gritty, epic, psychic warfare romance, ALLIE'S WAR, which follows Allie Taylor and her antihero partner, Revik, in their attempts to save the world from a dark, psychic force. Her dystopian science fiction romance series, ALIEN APOCALYPSE, features Jet Tetsuo, survivor and slave under alien conquerors, and her GATE SHIFTER series is about a shape-shifting alien and a tough-girl PI from Seattle. Her newest launch is QUENTIN BLACK, a science fiction romance and mystery series that’s a spin-off from Allie’s War but set in our own version of Earth.
JC has a background in journalism, history and politics, travels extensively and has lived abroad in Europe, Australia and Asia, and from coast to coast in the continental United States. She currently lives in Bangkok, Thailand.
Allie and Revik have set up a camp with their alliance members within a hotel in New York. Then a mystery virus that only kills humans hits San Francisco and at the same time some key loved ones start disappearing. Add to that the fact that the Lao Hu is constantly attacking the alliance and Shadow is still lurking out there life is not simple for both Allie and Revik as they are forced to new find ways to work together effectively. They then find a list of humans that are marked as important in the Displacement so Jon sets to work with Wreg to find them and bring them into the protection of the hotel whilst training them.
WOW. This story was full of twists and turns and if you thought you knew what was going to happen next it quickly changed and so you were completely wrong in your assumptions. There was non-stop action for large sections of the book apart from some breaks more intimate moments that were sensitively done and added to the picture and character of the main people in the story. Everything was very well written and all the events, actions and emotions involved were clear and easy to understand and feel as you read the story. Now I just need JC to write the next book in the story so I can be put out of my misery!
JC Andrijeski really brings it on in the fifth book of the Bridge & Sword Series, "Knight: Bridge & Sword: Apocalypse". Our heroes, Allie and Revik and allies continue to grow and face all challenges head on, be they a human-killing virus, the need to protect a group of humans mportant in the Displacement, the disappearance of loved ones, dealing with attacks from Lao Hu or anything else, oh, and the Shadow is still out there to make everything "fun". Don't worry, this is all handled with the panache expected from this series, thanks to the great cast of lead and supporting characters that continues to grow and yet another wonderfully written plot. Highly recommended.
These are getting longer and longer. This one was good and Andrijeski did a good job with the multiple POVs. I liked Jon's story and am looking forward to seeing more of it, although I did find him a bit petulant here and there.
It took this series a while to get off the ground but it's quite good now. I think it could probably have been pared down a bit and still been as good, but I won't downgrade for that. I suppose if I can read and enjoy Gabaldon then I can enjoy nearly any amount of verbose as long as its engaging.
There should be trigger warnings though. This series is pretty rapey.
This is an off-the-top-of-my-head kind of review, so it maybe be edited later...
Knight is book 5 of the Allie's War series. If you've come this far, you already love Allie and Revik and the fantasy/sci-fi world-building that JC Andrijeski has so wonderfully created. So you'll have absolutely no problem diving right into Knight, although putting it down once you start reading might give you some trouble.
Allie and Revik in complete alliance... well, let me loosely quote Allie's brother Jon, to give you the idea: "I thought separately each of you was scary... together you're positively terrifying."
Have you been wondering how two people (even seers) could possibly change the fate of the world? Well, after reading Knight, you won't have any doubt.
This is Team Allie and Revik like you've been hoping for from the moment they got married. Come on in, the water's warm and filled with old friends, along with a new romantic coupling that you never saw coming!
Allie's War. Still my all-time favorite.
*disclosure: JC Andrijeski had mercy on me and gave me the opportunity to beta-read an early draft of this novel.
J.C. really brought the heat with this book! It was wonderful! I enjoyed it emmensly. I know J.C. was worried about a certain segment in Knight, she needn't have worried. She executed it beautifully. There are many sweet moments in this. But there were some moments that made my yell out loud from shock! I CAN NOT wait for War. I need it like now!!!! Allie's War is definitely one of my most favorite series and not just among indie published books!
'Knight' is completely mind blowing!!💥 This whole series, so far, has been unbelievably good!!
I highly recommend it but a word of caution .... You can not put these books down & they're up to 20hours long - say goodbye to your normal life for the duration.😂🎉 Oh and this is important - the steamy stuff gets better with every book🔥😉😂
“Seer Knight” is the fifth instalment in JC Andrijeski’s “Bridge and Sword”, a dark urban fantasy series, setting in a word reminiscent of our own, populated by “Seers” and Humans, and in which those “seers” who possess psychic abilities, are subjugated by the humans who use them for their own purposes. JC Andrijeski world feels very familiar and deeply alien at the very same time, and is populated with interesting characters, both seers and humans, that often blur the line between good and evil, which makes them all the more believable and relatable an captivates our attention page after page from the start and until the very last sentence.
Allie and Revik have arrived at a turning point, after all the ordeals suffered in the previous four books, is time to take inventory, acknowledge the past and face the future more united than ever. Of course, in Allie and Revik’s world there is not such think as ‘processing the past’ in peace, too much is always happening at the same time (much to our full delight 😊). Now the stakes are higher as ever, the virus is decimating the human population, the threat closing in, Allie’s friends are disappearing, while the end of days lurks around the corner (on occasion literally 😉) and Allie & Revik would have to close all boundaries, just to get a chance to surviving the odds. Still along the way, we get to see another side of Allie, which was always present, but sometimes overlooked all the same.
This is the best book is the best book in the series until know, but make not mistake though, this is not fluffy fantasy to cozy up to with a nice beverage in your favorite armchair to numb the hours away. You still can cozy up, but you would like to make your ‘tea’ of choice a lot stronger. Andrijeski’s series is aimed at mature readers, and offers a brand-new perspective on themes of love, bonding and fate, with multidimensional characters that try to walk the moral line while finding a way to survive their own personal struggles. This is an adult urban paranormal fantasy series, that crave full dimensional characters and good stories, with a good side dish of action and entertainment, and enjoy following the evolution of the main characters through a wide story arc, that would extent to future instalments, and are not afraid to cross some narrative lines in the name of a good story.
Andrijeski’s fluid, fast paced, vivid and always delightful writing style, excels in getting across the actions elements with the added bonus of a good social critique, without disregarding the harsher romantic aspects of the story. A clear recommendation for any fan of intelligent dark (the darkest!) urban fantasy and/or parallel science-fiction worlds, with a single caveat: the ride eventually ends and could let the reader experiencing some sleep-deprivation, as it is very, very difficult to put down, a known side-effect of Andrijeski’s writing, but don’t they said that sleep is overrated anyway 😉
This is such an excellent series. If you haven't read it- you should do yourself a favor and try it. You need to read it in order and the best part, once you finish this series, you can still follow some of the main characters in her Quentin Black series... followed by her Vampire Detective. Now, her Seer Wars is starting centuries after the end of Bridge and Sword (Allie's War) and includes some of the main characters.
Allie, The Bridge, raised as a human, has no idea she is anything but. Revik, assigned to her as a guardian watchdog. When the opposing forces start closing in on Allie, Revik is tasked to save her. Thus begins her journey as she learns her true identity and her place in what the Seers call the Displacement -- an ending to humanity as it is known allowing for humans to evolve to their next step. Allie fights to prevent such an occurrence.
Revik, The Sword, partner and mate to The Bridge in previous incarnations. This time, he is 'owned' by alien beings that have no material form called the Dreng. They influence and twist minds and do all they can to rush the Displacement even to the end of all mankind.
A bit of warning .. Seers are not human although they appear as extremely beautiful humans. Their sexual habits are extreme and these books do have a lot of sexual episodes (some are quite funny including in the Quentin Black and Seer Wars books.) They also don't really care if their partner is male or female ... often it is male to male and while those scenes don't dominate the books they do occur.
Bridge & Sword Books in Order Dark Seers (2022) Death Seer (or Mated Seers) (2022) Rogue Seers (2022) Shadow Seer (or Shadow) (2012) Seer Knight (or Knight) (2012) Seer of War (or War) (2013) Bridge of Light (or Bridge) (2013) Seer Prophet (or Prophet) (2015) The Dragon God (or Dragon) (2015) Sword and Sun: Part 1 (2018) Sword and Sun: Part 2 (2023)
The saga continues! In this part Ally and Revik are together again after the China and Tank ordeals, but kept physically apart because some people are convinced Revik is still too unstable to be trusted alone with her. That belief goes out the window pretty emphatically when they take matters into their own hands.
Coming back together as a couple they rebuild their trust in each other and enjoy a time of marital bliss and celebrations. Unfortunately the good times are followed by betrayal, murder, and abduction.
At the same time things in San Francisco go horribly pear shaped. Humans are dropping dead by the thousands, friends are disappearing and their trail leads to Chile, to Shadows supposed stronghold. So the team journeys first to San Francisco to save humans that are unknowingly connected to the seers, and then on to Tierra Del Fuego for a last showdown with Shadow, knowing that they are walking into a trap.
But the showdown does not quite turn out the way they expected. Although the team they arrived with is almost unharmed, another friend turns into an enemy, and this time it leads to the predicted End Times, and the real War is finally here.
As always with Ms Andrijeski's tales you go from happy times to disaster in the blink of an eye. At the end you are breathless and impatiently waiting for what comes next. Knowing that she will send you through the emotional wringer again. Cruel bliss !! I volontarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

There is also a seer wedding ceremony, a confrontation with an enemy from the Lao Hu and an important meeting at the end of the book with major implications.
WOW - a busy book with a lot of activity and progress in a lot of areas. It was a hard book to make any assumptions as there were a great number of twists, turns and even disguises used so that you could often not all it until an event was complete. The seer wedding was wonderful and I seriously need some of that cake! There were definitely a number of intimate moments that were sensitively written and showed a lot of love between some of the characters. After so much action, what is going to happen next? An easy-to-read book that had me hooked from the start to the finish. Contains an M/M relationship that readers need to be aware of.
Seer Knight is the fifth book in the Bridge and Sword series. It begins with Allie, Revik and their crew taking refuge in a Seer owned hotel in New York City. Allie convinced Revik to help her rob a bank, not for money, but for the contents of a safety deposit box. He does, and the information contained within is pretty puzzling. In the meantime, a virus has been released in San Francisco and it appears to be the same biological weapon that was used by Shadow in the previous book. The casualties are staggering as the city is locked down to prevent its spread. Cass is still missing, as are a few other Seers of varying importance.
The situation in the book seems pretty dire, but there are some good things that happen (Tarsi’s cakes anyone?). Allie and Revik's relationship strengthens in a positive way. I don't want to give any spoilers, but the main good thing was a long time coming. We also find out the identities of a few more intermediaries, some of which are rather surprising. If you're reading this series, I definitely recommend it.
This series continues to blow me out of the water! The last few books were so intense that i actually had to take a break from them because they were,...too good. That's right...too good! I was so wound up that I found myself anxious and worried about what was going to happen, haha. I took a week off and here I am once again, like an addict "jonesing" for her next fix. As far as I know, Andrijeski has no equal that I have come across!
This book is from the perspective of Jon, who is the "Knight." If you liked Jon before this book, you are going to love him now. Jon's skills in this book shine, as he continues to look at things until he really sees them (outside of his love life of course. There he really does miss the boat).
A totally addictive rush, this series is nailing it! And yeah, I have the next one loaded! 8)
In case you haven't guessed from my previous reviews of the preceding volumes, I love this series. Love it.
The relationship between Allie and Revik reaches a new and satisfyingly complex level within the pages of this book. Honestly, I kept waiting for the torture to begin again, for these two to be wrenched apart in the most frustrating of ways again.
Instead, they are faced with a completely different set of challenges, as are the characters around them. The complex plotting and the misdirection, the drama, the unexpected snapshots of love all weave together to produce a strong series addition.
Once again, an action packed book. I couldn't put it down.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This story has so many twists and turns. It feels like Allie, Revik and their little band of misfits are doing nothing more than chasing their tails; for every step forward they manage, they’re pushed at least one further back. This book starts off with an emotional low blow and goes careening off on a fast track from there. I’m blown away by everything that happens and all that we learn in this book. I love that both Allie and Revik, even though they have they amazing mystical powers, are just as prone to making mistakes as the rest of us mere mortals. I just wish they’d start learning from their mistakes so they could stop repeating the same ones. I’m almost afraid to see what the learning curve in the next book will be.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
Excellent book! A well written story with lots of information. There is so much going on in the story. Allis and Revik's relationship changes so much. Jon goes through severe life changes. We loose a couple of characters and Cass goes through changes. The Shadow is playing a big part of this story and trying to separate Allie and Revik which we know from the previous book. It is hard to write anything without spoiling the book for you. There are lots of twists in the book which will surprise you. I loved the book and recommend the entire series!
To me this is my favorite so far. Allie and Revik have stopped with head games and finally fighting everything together. No separation or being separated again. They finally are both all in and accepting their individual roles as Bridge and Sword. Without giving away spoilers; expect deceit, lust, betrayal, action and twists you wouldn't expect.
It is very important to read series in order. This may be my favorite in the series so far but I wouldn't have understood it had I not read the other books first.
The complexity of each story never fails to surprise, all the twists and turns in the story line. I love seeing Revik and Allie finally come together as a unit and working their magic and strategies on their enemies and they are many and all out to separate the Bridge from her Sword. This story brought us the newly appointment Knight and Jon who is still learning will be a great asset to the Allie and Revik. The loss of one love brings about a more permanent and strong love that will bring him the support he needs through the coming war.
The Bridge and Sword series by JC Andrijeski has been building up to the Displacement (or apocalypse) on Earth. By book 5, the tone of this saga got darker and darker as Allie, Revik, Jon, Wreg and Balidore chase Shadow and his minions across the country. More players are introduced into this complex world of humans, sarks and intermediary beings who begrudgingly coexist on earth. The pieces of this puzzle are slowly dropping into place. Book #6 should be exciting.
Knight is book five in JC Andrijeski’s Seer series. Most of the series introduced our main characters, their alien seer abilities, their relationship with humans and the roles they played on this version of Earth throughout history during war and peaceful times. By book five, our characters are trained and ready to fulfill ancient prophecies during their Intermediaries current lifetimes. Whether Allie and Revik will succeed depends upon a multitude of factors, including sabotage, espionage, greed, jealousy and love. What a wild ride. I’m ready for book six.
I received Knight book 5 of the Bridge and Sword series, as a free copy from the author, and enjoyed the read so much, I purchased a copy when it became available for sale. The tension and plots just keep getting thicker! It was nice to see significant forward progression of the overall theme, as well as development of other characters (yeah, Jon! Love that his role is expanding). Andrijeski has a winner is this angst-filled addition to the series, and I eagerly await the next book, War.
There are a lot of changes in this book with a lot of surprises. It is very emotional and can be kind of dark. Allie and Revik become a bit more stable even with all of the emotional upheaval. Jon begins to go through changes of his own and plays a more pivot role as well as Cass. This is definitely not light reading but I am in love with these characters. After the ending of this book, I am chomping to start book 6.
I think this is my second read through of this book and it’s still just was surprising to me. I love the set up of these books and the return of characters that hadn’t been mentioned for a while. The switch and the surprise that had been foreshadowed off and on for a while now. Now, onto ‘War’ which I have only partially read so far I think.
This series gets deeper and darker the further you read into Allie and Reviks tale! It drags you into the darkest depths of hell while still reminding you there is love and light in the world. A gritty read filled with enough sharp twists and turns to nearly snap your neck! Truly remarkable storytelling! Highly recommended!
WOW! This book was mostly about Jon getting his powers and Falling in Love with Wreg, action packed as always, drama, suspence, mystery, soooo many emotions, augh! I cried so hard. This war is about to start.
‘Knight: Bridge & Sword,’ was incredibly intense! The build up to this confrontation had me on the edge of my seat... with events that were tragic, heartbreaking, suspenseful, and brilliantly beautiful.
More twists and turns as the storyline draws the end times closer. The characters are evolving and growing well and the story is still fresh enough to keep you wanting more.
