Review: Wow!!! This book was epically amazing! When first reading this story, I felt it was simple and cute love story.
You and I belong together, it’s as simple as that. I’ve waited for you my whole life, I’m nothing without you. We’ll make this work, I promise.
I couldn’t have been more wrong! As things progressed I was thrown for twists and turns that I had no clue were coming! I absolutely adored Erica! In so many ways I was Erica. Erica loved others to a fault and felt out of step with her friends.
Annie Woods based this book off of actual life experiences. I was thoroughly impressed and enjoyed this book so much. Annie took her life experiences and weaved through these pages passion and talent creating a Young Adult Masterpiece that I won’t soon be able to forget. First Came Forever made me feel so much emotions and I felt like I couldn’t fathom waiting for the sequel! I give this book 5+++++ royal stars out of 5! I didn’t realize all the feels this book gave me! I couldn’t recommend this book enough! There also was some LGBT+ friendly stuff in here which I enjoyed. If it wasn’t the holidays with sick kids I would have finished this within hours!
Oh and I usually don’t like love triangles but this book had so much more to it than that! I will have to say after a certain incident didn’t sit well with me, I am #TeamTyler but man are my feelings all out of sorts! My only problem is how could you leave us with that ending Annie and make us wait?!! #WorthIT
I also want to do a shout out to Adrienne @ Darque Dreamer Reads for fangirling with me throughout my reading of this book! She just made things even more AWESOME! She also posted an awesome review and a Q & A with Annie Woods with it!
One more thing I wanted to add is that not only was this book awesome so was the author. I was kind of scared that after making friends with Annie that I would hate if I didn’t enjoy this book. Well all of my fears were put at bay when reading this book and realizing it’s now one of my favorites of all time. I can see why Erica is based off Annie and why me and Annie connected! She even sent me a sweet signed copy! Yay! First Came Forever by Annie Woods is highly recommended!🤗💟😁😍💃💝
I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
So this book was a total roller coaster.
It took me a while to really get into the story. The beginning was a little boring but once Erica got to United States the story got so much more interesting.
This book has a love triangle which I typically don’t like but in this it worked well. Usually I find love triangles to be unnecessary but the one in this book actually made sense and felt real and natural.
I loved the supporting characters, especially Danny and Ricky. They’re precious. I loved Danny’s dorkiness and Ricky’s gay storyline.
The ending of the book was crazy and ended on quite the cliffhanger. It was not what I was initially expecting to happen when I first started reading the book, but I loved it. I can’t wait for the sequel because I really have no idea how it will all play out. I just know that drama will be going down. Lots of it.
Aside from the slow beginning, my only other issue was the few typos I spotted. They weren’t anything major; they just managed to get overlooked during editing.
Overall, this was a fun romantic read with a ton of twists and turns at the end.
First Came Forever is an enchanting, addictive love story! It's one of those fantasy, dream like romances that you can't get out of your head! Prepare yourself for a page turner full of intriguing drama, passion, and surprising twists!
The Plot: Sweden native, Erica Lindell, is about to start her senior year of high school. So, she and her friends decide to go backpacking through Vietnam as a last hurrah before their final year. While on her trip to see the historical sites, she meets the alluring Sasha Ailes, and begins to fall madly in love with him! They spend enough time together that they begin to plan a future together in the states, a future that feels like a fairy tale. But, Sasha has a secret about his true identity that has finally been discovered by Erica. Can Erica overcome the betrayal so they can live out their fairy tale forever?
I could not have predicted how much I would love this book! When I made it to the end I was speechless! I rarely pick up romance books and only occasionally pick up contemporaries, but this one may have my mind changed on those choices! I could not put this one down and I loved every minute of it! I loved the pacing, the romance, the twists and turns, and the characters! Annie did an incredible job with the writing style, world building, and character development! I cannot believe I have to wait for book two now!
I wish I could go in to detail about the plot and story twists, but I would be giving spoilers away if I did. I will say that I loved how bubbly and dream like the romance was. As I said, I am not usually one for romance, but reading this story just felt like it could be a fantasy of any teenage or young adult girl! It felt nice to live in the illusion. It wasn't a perfect illusion either. Annie wrote in the twists to keep us grounded a little so it didn't feel too over the top. She portrayed the characters and their emotions with such elegance that I always remembered I was reading about high school students, but didn't feel like the story was too young for me.
Erica was one of my favorite characters because she felt like a down to earth high school girl! She was level headed (most of the time), intelligent, open minded, and had a big heart. She wasn't stuck up or in to girly things like makeup and cheer-leading, and I loved how she fell in love with Sasha, but still was mature enough to hold concerns about the relationship and the pacing of it. I also really loved her father, Thomas, as a character and loved their relationship!
Sasha was such a heartthrob. He was the perfect fantasy boyfriend! I loved how loving he was toward Erica and how he wanted so much to change in to a better man because of her. He had a big heart and added so much passion and excitement to the story!
I was so intrigued by Tyler too! He had such a visual transformation throughout the story, and I really enjoyed it. He added a layer of mystery, and humor to the story and had the bad boy appeal!
And, let's not forget Danny (and his AWESOME parents) and Ricky! This pair man, I loved them! They had different personalities and story roles, but both were amazing friends to Erica and both were so necessary for the enjoyment of the book! Danny, especially, was such a kind, caring character and had such a heartbreaking inner struggle to deal with. And Ricky, had a huge struggle to deal that added something so important to the plot! I may have loved these two more than Erica! And Danny's parents were the "cool", understanding parents and I loved them so much!
I felt like I was watching an amazing movie the entire time I was reading this! I can't say which movies I was reminded of though, as that would give spoilers. But, this book had it all. It had love, passion, friendship, heart break, betrayal, humor, surprising plot twists, and a cliff hanger ending! It was a fluffy love story with incredible depth and I highly recommend to all YA readers (above age 16 though due to a few steamy scenes).
Thank you to the author for sending me this free review copy in exchange for my honest opinion!
The book did contain a few editing mistakes, but those in now way hindered my enjoyment!
Erica is on vacations with her friends and instead of partying all the time, all she wants is to explore the place, visit the ruins and on her quest to explore the history of the place, she meets Sasha. A very handsome, yet mysterious guy with secrets.
Trusting her insticts she ends up getting to know him better and falling in love with him. But when the secrets are being revealed, Erica doesn't know what to do. These secrets could make her quit her dreams, leave her life behind.
I read this book two months ago and I fell in love with it. I can't believe that this is a debut novel. I seem to always struggle with words, so excuse me if I rumble or if I make no sense whilst writing this review.
I truly loved this story, it was one of the reads that I couldn't put down. I kept reading and devouring it. I honestly fell in love with the description of these places, it made me want to travel so bad! Also, the characters were so interesting! I loved even more the secondary characters and let me tell you right here that I am team Tyler all the way!! I don't know guys, Sasha was okay, but Tyler was the one with the biggest character development and I just couldn't wait for his scenes in this book.
“You’ve changed,” she finally said. “Really changed. “Why? What happened?” “You happened.”
I also loved the twists and turns. I seriously didn't see them coming! Francesca, the cliffhanger near the ending? I just can't!! This book was really lovely and so interesting! The only bummer in this book was probably some of the grammar/ spelling mistakes and that actually amazes me, because it's not a self published book, but it's supposed to be edited by a publishing house.. However, this was my only issue with this book. I can't wait to read the continuation and I strongly recommend it!
Writing this review is going to be so difficult because I don't want to give anything away. What I can tell you is that I liked the initial story of this novel. It's not original or even unique but I'm pretty sure it's something every girl has dreamed about at least once in her life and why not experience it through a book. ;) Erica and Sasha's relationship was unique and wild, but difficult. That difficulty was actually what made their relationship more real and believable in my eyes, which I really liked. Because what Erica and Sasha have only seems like a fairytale, the reality, however, is far from a fairytale, unfortunately.
The heroine, Erica, was a character after my own heart. She likes to travel, she's a bookworm and she prefers a movie night over a hip party. What I absolutely loved about Erica was her sense of justice and staying true to herself. Even though Erica was madly in love with Sasha, she didn't always agree with Sasha's way of thinking and especially his family traditions. Instead of giving in and telling him what he wanted to hear just to avoid a fight, she addressed the issues and called him out on it. She didn't back down once which made her a really strong character in my eyes. Sasha is the guy every girl wants to be with - he's a dream come true. That was true for the first third of the story, though. Then, not so much anymore: he turned out to be pushy, small-minded and extremely jealous. He didn't outright tell Erica, but Sasha wanted her to adapt to his lifestyle and his way of thinking. He didn't encourage Erica "to lie exactly, but maybe not [to tell] the truth all the time either". Yeah right! What kind of guy is this to keep his girlfriend from telling her opinion, only because it reflects badly on him. He's a real charmer for sure! *insert sarcasm here*
There is another character I really liked: Tyler. He's Mr. Popular at Erica's high school and the star of the school's lacrosse team. He's also cocky, arrogant and dates the hottest girl in school who is also a cheerleader. Yeah, I know! How can I like a walking cliché? On the surface, Tyler is just that: an annoying cliché and not very kind. But under the surface... <3 Tyler was a secondary character only, at least in the beginning of the book. But the further the story went along, the more important did he become to the story and to Erica. But let me be clear: this book is not a love triangle!
As I already mentioned, I really liked the initial storyline. However, the story dragged a little in the middle. It seemed to me as if I was getting a completely different story from what I gathered from reading the blurb and reading the first half of the book. Not that it was bad, it was just not what I had hoped for. Nevertheless, when I finished the book I finally understood why Annie chose to write what she had written.
One thing I didn't like was the insta-love between Erica and Sasha. It was just way over the top. I also wasn't quite happy with the typos throughout the book. I don't mind a small one here and there but this novel contained way too many for a published one.
The sweet story, the strong heroine, and especially the shocking ending with that major plot twist made me give Annie Woods' debut novel a solid four star rating.
I really enjoyed First Came Forever, like a cat likes catnip, it was addictive and couldn't put it down!
First off the cons:
The only con about this book is that I was left stunned & shocked. Now, desperately need the second book. So, the con is me being impatient, going to have to wait for the second!(:
Pros:
I loved the settings of the backpacking adventure in the beginning. It was vivid and just plain beautiful. Honestly, wanted to be Erica Lindell through & through so I could see through her eyes.
I started reading this after a long day at work. When I started I did not quit reading until I finished in the wee hours of the next morning. (: Bloodshot eyes and exhaustion could not stop me from finishing this story!
I mean Sasha is a pro alone. There was this beautiful chemistry between him and Erica. That really reminded me of someones, first love. It burns & consumes you with all the new love feels!
NOW there are some plot twists! And I really enjoyed the thrill of those, I was definitely caught off guard by them. I might have thrown stuff around…I’ll be honest about that!
There is unrequited love, first love, & true love all wrapped up in this unique book!
How do I begin to explain how much I love me some Tyler. Which might be an unpopular opinion to some who read this story. BUT I DONT CARE. He deserves the world & certain people in it! I am obsessed with his snarky ass(:
There are some saucy parts, but they are beautifully written & fit well with the story!
The characters are very relatable. I related a lot to Erica with her not being big on parties, I also didn’t learn to drive until I was eighteen! So much more than I CAN’T spoil!
I really just want to go on & on about this contemporary book that blew my mind. However, you have to read for yourself! I promise you will not regret any minute of it!
Have all the feels! Heartbreak, love, & grief, playfulness, all emotions are unleashed! Be careful with your heart with this one.
Would I recommend? Well, I did rate it a 5, when I finish a book in less than a day & still want more, you’re doing it right!(: If you love contemporary and romance novels, this is for you! BUT I recommend to anyone who wants a YA book(:
*I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book from Annie Woods. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.*
After reading the blurb, I thought this would be something like an urban fantasy since there were royalties involved. However, as I dove into the book, it turned out to be more contemporary, which was super cool.
The beginning was a bit fast-paced, as I thought how they met was a bit abrupt and cliché. However, as the book progressed, it slowed down a bit and I became more absorbed into it when Erica got to her new school. I mean, who doesn't like reading about some school drama?! That was fun and entertaining.
Also, I liked the small love triangle, it helped invoke suspense into the story!
The ending of the book was really unexpected and surprising! I can't wait to read the next book!
Thank you for sending me a copy of your book to review, Annie!
Some books make you foolishly happy. They click so well with your personality and taste that you regret reading it this late in your life. First came forever by Annie Woods was such a book for me. It is an instant favourite and I am forever grateful to Annie for sending me a copy. Otherwise I might have never read it. If you love secret romance, dramatic plots twists, intrigues and heartbreak, what are you doing? Stop reading this review and get yourself a copy!
Plot If you view the story from a very objective and very far perspective you will notice that the general plot line is not the most original one. It is full of tropes and clichés. However, the author wraps all this in a delicious original package that makes you instantly addicted to the story. For example, Erica and Sacha meet each other while waiting to enter temple in Vietnam. They instantly hit it of but hit a rough patch when Erica finds out who Sacha really is (Spoiler! He is the crown prince of a fictive country called Adonia). The story takes off from there and primarily focuses on Erica leaving her home country Sweden to live with her dad in America to make her relationship with Sacha work. The plot is fast paced full with twists and turns. The ending was just cruel and makes you ache for the sequel.
Characters I really loved Erica. She reminds me a lot of myself, especially when she rather does cultural things instead of partying like her friends. She is a bit of an introvert, ambitious and rather idealistic. She loves running (like me!). Her struggles with her relationship with Sacha felt realistic and appropriate for her age (She is more grown up than your average 18 year old). This made me really enjoy her. Sometimes in romance novels the relationship struggles can get a little bit immature and petty. But it seems natural that she is reserved about royal life. She has to give up everything she wants for love. Is it worth it? My only wish is that she would communicate more with Sacha about her internal struggles and insecurities. I also love Erica’s confidence and how she sets her boundaries.
Sacha is the charming prince you want him to be. He is a bit of a cliché with being a former party prince who is now turning his life around. However, this change happens before Erica meets him and he does have a rather complex characterisation. He has two faces, one for the public and a private face. I really appreciated that Annie did not made him a perfect person. He has is own faults and he might need to work on. I loved his relationship with Erica (she brings the best out of him) and also with his bodyguard. Is jealously at the end of the book was understandable and justified. I just wished both Sacha and Erica would have been more forward about their struggles in the relationship.
The side characters are adorable and make the story fun. Danny and Ricky are good friends (refreshing). Ricky is adorable and I loved his arch. Danny is just too good for the world. I did find is crush on Erica unnecessary. However, he behaved like a gentleman and respected Erica’s relationship. I do feel bad for him though. Especially when Erica is blind for his affection. Tyler could learn a lot of this little cousin. Tyler is the typical cocky star athlete. He does have a sad past and he obviously cares for Erica. However, he is selfish and does not respect her relationship with Sacha. He appears to be thinking only of himself and that made me really dislike him as a person.
Writing style Furthermore, the writing style really fitted the story. The author did a great job at developing each character’s personality and this really came across in the duologue. The chapters were short, not everything happened on the page and there were time lapses that made the story fast spaced, more mysterious and addictive.
World building As I said before I loved the backpacking setting in the beginning of the story. However, the American high school setting was a lot of fun as while. The author built a realistic high school experience including the parties and drama. The drama was realistic and not too much. I loved the running element in the story. That was a part I could really relate too. The only thing that felt unrealistic was that everyone seems to fall in love with Erica the moment they see her. I almost forgot, but I also loved the fact that the story felt more grown up than other high school romance stories.
Overall it was a very fun, addictive read. After THAT cliffhanger I really need the next book now! I will not be happy until Sacha and Erica have their happy ending. This one of those books I will reread when I am in the mood for an amazing romance.
“The more I got to know you, the more amazing you were. And the more I wanted you to like me, to see the real me and not the cold, selfish, shallow guy I let the others see. I thought I was broken till you came along. You bring out the best of me, you make me want to be the best me I can.” SUMMARY Erica, started her first adventure, backpacking with her besties. she didn't know what was missing from her life, until she met Sasha. Falling completely in love with him was pretty easy for her. but the hard part is staying together after the revealing of Sasha identity. Sometimes, Life get in the way of our happiness.
Romance books are what keep me alive!, I LIVE FOR BOOKS LIKE THIS ONE.
OBCKEGABDFEYFAIAEHDDUE I FUCKING LOVEED THIS ONE.
okay okay, im trying to calm down to get this right.
The story got me hooked right from the beginning, traveling? backpacking and sightseeing? COUNT ME IN!
Erica, the Heroine, was adorable! you wouldn't help but fall in love with her right away.
" She screamed on the top of her lungs. She screamed of ear, then of excitement and Joy. The feeling of charging through the air with the breeze over her body is exhilarating. "
Sasha, on the other hand, humm let's say i wasn't a big fan of him! i knew right away that there's something off about him. so to be honest, I'm team Tyler here.
"No" Sasha interrupted her, " there are no buts. You are the one for me. The only one for me. From the first time i met you, you've been the one. I couldn't bear losing you and going back to living without you, going back to being the empty person i was before."
I know iknow, what's not to like about him? i can't explain my feelings, but I just prefer Tyler, hehe
“You’ve changed,” she finally said. “Really changed. “Why? What happened?” “You happened.”
yeah that's better, hehe
but don't get me wrong here, it wasn't a love triangle, it was much much more than that! i can't say more, you just gotta read it to find out *wink wink*
i got this calm, relaxing feeling, whenever i picked this book up. the scenes go so smoothly, the Author will take you from a scene to another, from a country to another and you won't have hard time imagining the scene in front of you.
And even though i'm not a big fan of the Third person POV, it didn't bother me in this book. the Author was that good! And there was chapter for every person, even the bad guys. So i loved hearing their thoughts.. it was new to me, I'm used to chapters dedicated for the hero, and the heroine. so that's a plus here
This read was exactly what i needed, beautiful in so many ways so THANK YOU Annie for writing this! you're such a sweetheart <3

Review :
3.5/4 stars
I have come cross some views saying that First Came Forever was a very clichéd romance, however that did not stop this book from being one interesting narrative. We follow Erica, a young girl, who goes on a vacation with her friends. She however is very different from her friends, she doesn’t like to party and would rather site-see an old temple, than drink and party all day. So she decides to go alone for the rest of the trip, and this is how she meets Sasha.
Since the very beginning I knew that there was something off about Sasha, and I think that is one of the better things about this book; that it doesn’t hoard obvious information from the reader and create useless plot twists, whereas the information is given to the reader alongside the incident. However, that doesn’t mean this book is dull. It is full of twists and turns and very complicated characters that you end up loving.Even the eastern European vibe was created so beautifully. All the places they travel too are now on my bucket list, for sure.
The writing style is very young-adultish and it is easy to get into the world of the novel. I actually quite liked Sasha, Erica does some questionable things but overtime we have to admit that all characters are a bit flawed. I especially liked the a-sides that happen from other characters which ultimate play a huge a role in the end. This gave me a very Shakespeare feel. I can’t really say much about the plot lest I give away some spoiler because this book is packed with fun and shocking turns.
Even though I liked the setting, the writing and the characters, Erica herself was a bit of a contrast – she didn’t like partying; yet that is all she did once she changed her high school, but no matter what by the end of the novel one does start to like Erica, and for me that was mostly because of her relationship with her Dad and her other friends. Other honourable mentions are Danny, really liked him, and Taylor for a short while was great too.
This is a series, and I am so glad because I NEED THE NEXT BOOK, LIKE NOW! The ending blew me away and I want to know what happens and how is Erica supposed to manage her life, which is going to get way more complicated. I would definitely recommend this book to my fellow Y-A lovers, it was a good contemporary book with a lot of focus on family, relationships and of course, love.
First came forever is a story of Erica and Sasha who falls in love. As the time proceeds, what will happen next? Is this love forever? or is it lust?
It's a complete movie style story. It's the book that made me cry. Firstly, I am obsessed with the cover and the title of the book. It's attractive. The plot of the story is super amazing. It's a page-turner story with lots of twists. The narration of the story was intriguing. Loved how the author described each and every detail. The pace of the story is a little slow, but it's worth a read. the flow of the story is crisp.
The characters that the author made were strong. each of them had their own importance. I loved how the story proceeded. The author used various themes like Love, friendship, hate, relationship, Drama, Romance. It's a fascinating story and the end is surprising.
The writing style of the author is engaging. One can easily connect with the story. The dialogues between the characters were fun and interesting.
Interesting plot, smooth narration, strong characters, simple language makes it an interesting read.
If you like reading Romance, DO NOT skip this book
*This book was given to me for free by the publisher and author in exchange for an honest review.* This book is so much more than it seems at first glance. It looks like it is hurt a cliche romance story with royalty but Oh No! There's betrayal, assassins, scandals, love triangles (yes, plural!) and so much more. The story isn't even that focused on Sasha and Erica as it is on Erica's life. And there's side plots that happen simultaneously as when they collide it's just BAM!
I will say nothing in this book surprised me too much. I expected some of the big plot twists but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy them, because I did. And once you got past the whole vacation with Sasha, the book got so much better! I posted a reaction earlier to when Sasha told Erica he loved her within the first 50 pages but now looking back I am not that mad. I thought the whole book was going to be about Sasha and Erica so I was worried I wasn't going to be able to make it through an entire insta love book. But then the plot picks up and their insta love makes a ton more sense. And if you're like me, you totally have a side in the love square.
I loved all the characters, they were all so well done. Erica was great- sweet, sassy, sporty, nerdy. Sometimes she was a bit too much of an angel and her niceness was overdone but overall I enjoyed her. Although she's a real idiot when it comes to Sasha. Danny is such a sweet best friend that anyone would be lucky to have. Ricky is funny and cute and just fun to be around. And Tyler is my favorite- tough and cocky on the outside with a heart of gold on the inside.
One thing about the writing is that it was a bit jerky. It was written in third person, but where the narrator knows the people's thoughts, and it wasn't just Erica's thoughts we knew. Sometimes we would hear some of Sasha's or some of Danny's and it was a little disorienting. Also, there needed to be page breakers in between scenes, because it was sometimes unclear that a new scene was taking place. And lastly there were some name errors. Like one time she was talking to Sasha but the book said Tyler? Which was a little confusing.
OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS!! This book utterly blew me away and left me in a state of shock. The feels. Wow. I’m having a hard time coming up with coherent thoughts. If you have been following my blog for a while, you will notice that I haven’t reviewed any contemporary romance novels. Well, that’s because I usually stay far away from this genre. I’ve read too many cringe-worthy insta-love stories that have really turned me off of this genre. Annie e-mailed me asking if I would be willing to read and review her book. I don’t know what made me say yes: the book cover, the description, or the fact that she was such a pleasant and easy person to talk to. I’m really not sure, but boy am I glad I said yes! I think this book may be my saving grace into giving this genre another shot. Not only was it totally not cringe-worthy, but there was no insta-love. Thank goodness!!
I just could not put this book down! If it wasn’t for life and responsibilities getting in the way, I most definitely would have read this cover to cover in one sitting. There were so many twists and turns, which is the best way a book can keep me interested. I live for plot twists. I was constantly kept on my toes and I could feel the tension building as the story progressed. This book has everything I want: plot twists, an amazing cast of characters, scandal, and plenty of sexy scenes. (Well this book is missing the blood and gore I love so much, but that totally wouldn’t work in this setting so I can excuse the lack of violence.)
I loved the cast!! It’s not everyday when I read a book where I feel so connected to the characters. I cared so much for everyone! All you LGBTQIA lovers will be happy to hear that there is a m/m representation in this book as well! I shipped that couple so hard! My heart is just bursting with love. I so want this series to be wrapped up in a neat little bow with everyone getting a happy ending. I’m just not sure I can see how that is possible. Annie, please don’t break my heart.
Okay guys, I’m done gushing now. Please, please, please, if you are a fan of contemporary romance books give this one a try. I promise you will not be disappointed! I give this book a glowing 5 out of 5 stars!
Thank you to Annie Woods and the publisher for sending me a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It took me a little while to get into it at first, but that also could have been because I read this book during the stressful ending of my semester at school. Once I got into the story, I was hooked. You could feel the suspense building throughout the story and gives you an “edge of your seat” kind of vibe which always makes for an interesting read. I love when the tension builds in a book and you’re waiting to see what will happen next. I did not see the twists and turns coming at all!
I think Erica’s character was my favorite in this book. She is such an amazing girl and is down-to-earth. She has a really likable personality and is easy to relate to. I also enjoyed Sasha’s character. I had all of the swoons and feels with those two. The side characters were great also.
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Before anything, we’d like to thank Annie Woods for gladly sending in a copy of her eBook "First Came Forever", first book in ‘The Angelheart Saga’! 😍We enjoyed reading and reviewing each chapter of this book. The intensity of the plot that only got thicker towards the end had me staring at my tab for hours! I also respect this work for representing and respecting the #LGBTQ community and their everyday problems in this series.💪💕
Erica Lendell, an 18-year-old girl, decides to go on a small trip, going away from her friends who were too busy doing all the things she was clearly not interested to be a part of - partying all day and hanging out with boys. Erica was a quiet character that loved to travel. While on her trip, she runs into Sasha, a “hot” muscular guy.🤤🤠 They feel an instant connection and somehow, their trip routes and food tasting looks very similar.
So he asks her to join on his trip - but Erica has no idea about Sasha’s real identity. His extravagant hotels and travel style raises doubts in her head. She is confused whether these new feelings are just regular teenage infatuations or if she really is falling in love with this stranger.😵 Despite their age gap, they fall in love and feel inseparable. They go on to decide to stay together and plan a future together.😱
Will she ever find out his real identity? Will she meet new friends or get slammed by the bullies in her new school? At first I thought of Erica as just a brainy teen looking to fall in love and spice up her transforming life, but this book is more than that with a bunch of twists and refreshing ideas.🙈💋
This is an absolute must-read. This book left me giggling like a teenager, and made me want to pick up the second book right away. I felt silly in love with the whole story, and I felt insanely good about it.
Erika watched him pensively. “You've changed,” she finaly said. “Really changed. “Why? What happened?” “Why? Do you really need to ask that?” He raised his eyebrow at her. Swiftly, he moved his hand along the railing and covered her hand with his. He looked down at their hands and let his finger slide gently over the back hand. “You happened.”
Have you ever seen those clips when a child opens up a book and magic starts pouring out of it? Yeah, that! Annie Woods is a new author to me. This is her debut book. But she writes like she has at least 10 published books. This is what appealed to me in the starters. Everything about this story is just about perfect. The plot is mesmerizing and the characters so perfect. Erika was such a down to earth heroine, a great friend and a honorable human being. I know I was supposed to say I liked Sasha (I did, I really did), but my heart belongs to Tyler.
Off course this story has it's twists and turns and I can not wait for them to be revealed to me.
WOW! I picked up this book and thought it sounded amazing, something I could really enjoy and it was so much more than that! It was well-paced and just all out amazing! I found myself losing time as I sat down to read just one more chapter. Erica was so well written and the love story makes you feel like you're actually reading a grown up relationship. There was always love, and consent which is a huge issue. The only bit I didn't like was the end because it left me wanting more and I don't know if the next book is out, but when it comes, sign me up! Sold on this story completely. Highly recommended!
Its a book you would want to read in summer with a cup of coffee or iced coffe there are a few cliche part but they are kinda add something to the book plus the book is teenager/kids book and that reminded me of the old adorable fanfic I used to read and miss reading.
Erica is such a sweet girl she is sassy not afraid to be herself and she doesnt know what her value is (which is like a lot of teenage girls) i could relate to her in so many ways.
Sasha is so romantic is the kind of guy that might pick you up in a white horse but in his case its a black car.
Dany is my favorite and i really want a novella/book with his pov *hint hint Annie* he is so precious and beautiful he deserves the world.
Tyler *sigh* I just hate it when guys are mean because they think they deserve to be mean or doesnt deserve to be loved *i have nothing against tyler im talking in general*
anyway I would totaly the book if you love cute romance books that have love triangle (what do you call the girl that is loved by 3 guys square??? Idk) 3.75 because there was a cringy scene i didnt like
I actually rated this 4.5 stars. I fell in love with this book right away because of the amazing and well-written settings. Annie Woods' descriptions are vivid and easy to imagine. I always want to travel outside the country alone and I love the idea of finding the person you'll fell in love with while exploring a beautiful place.
im not a huge fan of love triangles especially when it isnt obvious who the characters would end up to. I dont want to be upset when my ship does not sail! Im Team Tyler btw, tho i also fell in love with Sasha especially on the first few chapters but i find his feelings with Erika and vice versa an insta-love. What I like about how Annie Woods writes her characters is the diversity she puts into them. I love that she put LGBTQ relationship. And also i like that Erika is kind hearted, free-spirited, and strong-willed. This book is a solid romance with drama that will make you crave for the next chapters. The plot twist at the end made me want to read the next book asap ❤️
First Came Forever by Annie Woods is a wonderful story about love, lust, and friendship. I enjoy the characters and each of their unique personalities. I also love the relationships that Erica has with the various characters. I found that the book was very hard to put down. There are so many good things about this book but would spoil it if I told you. I highly recommend reading this book! To see my full review https://www.boundtowriting.com/review...
I'm so glad I finally got around to reading this book. It's been sitting on my TBR forever and I'm so happy I'm tackling it now that I'm finally on vacation. I'll try not to spoil anything major I promise.
Jumping into the book, you're first introduced to the main character Erica and her friends who are going on a vacation abroad together but while all Erica's friends want to do is party and sunbathe, she wants to go see the sights and experience the temples of Cambodia. So she ends up venturing out on her own and that's when she meets Sasha. They share this connection right from the start and throughout the first day they get along so great they decide to keep travelling together. Sasha being well traveled shows her around and takes her to some of his favorite places. While they are on their journey they soon fall for each other, and even though it was super fast you can't help but like seeing them together being all cute. But Sasha has been hiding a secret all along, a secret that is a big part of who he is - being a Prince and King to be. This secret will hang over them throughout the entirety of the book, in various ways.
Even knowing his secret and not knowing if she could ever live the royal life and all the duties that come with it, neither Erica or Sasha want to part ways. They take on a long distance/secret relationship heads on, and somehow they manage to move to the same country and see each other from time to time when Sasha has some free time from his charity work.
Starting senior at a new school in a new country without knowing a soul is not easy but Erica soon makes a few friends who became central in her life and are loyal to a fault. She starts on the track team because she loves running and hoping it will help her fit in and make more friends. Soon Erica's life is spent studying with Danny and Ricky at Danny's house, going running with Tyler, Danny's cousin who lives with him, and escaping to see Sasha whenever she and he can. She's getting her life together and integrating well in the new country and falling deeper in love with Sasha while also getting to know the real Tyler bit by bit.
Things start getting complicated, a distance relationship is not easy. When she's with Sasha everything feels right and is perfect but when they're apart doubt fills her head and seeing Sasha on tv pretending to be someone else with the media makes her question if she really knows him at all. Soon Erica finds her head and heart divided between Sasha and Tyler. She knows Sasha is the love of her life but she also developed feelings for Tyler. They have something between them that is undeniable. Do Erica and Sasha really have a future? Will she ever be ready to go public and live the life of a royal?
First Came Forever is a story about a teenager who finds herself living some sort of fairy tale that she never thought possible. Sometimes it feels like she's living a double life, hiding from the world, lying to her friends back in Sweden, spending only stolen moments with Sasha. This double life causes doubts in both their heads and threatens to mess their relationship up. Tyler's feelings are obvious to Sasha and have him beyond jealous whenever Erica mentions him. Sasha's afraid that's he losing Erica to Tyler when he finds out they are going to be together at her prom, so he decides to drive there. Once he gets there he finds them in a compromising position and when it all comes to blows, he ends up driving off mad and it doesn't end well...
This book had me all over the place with all the teen life dramas and the royal life dramas as well. The friendships, the love triangles, the murder plots all had me glued to this book. Everything came together in the end in a fantastic way in terms of plot, but for my emotions not so much. Things did not end on a positive note and boy am I glad the second book is out so I can jump right on and find out what happens with all the characters, because they all have me invested in their journey. I can't wait to see how everything plays out, how the truths come out, how relationships will end. I'm so excited.
First Came Forever by Annie Woods is a great read for all the YA lovers that can handle some insta love, some cliche moments, with a little bit of drama, and some suspense. So this is me being super honest the first chapters didn't capture my attention at all and I thought that I was going to DNF but I'm glad I kept on reading. Don't get me wrong I enjoy it but it was too cheesy for my liking. But once you get passed the vacation with Sasha everything starts getting so much better. Soo guys I recommend you to keep on reading!!
This book is written in a third person POV which I've not been a big fan of because most of the books I've read in the third person always left me confused as fuck but this author actually nailed it. She kept me on my toes and showed me the aspects of different characters, it was as though I was in a movie. We learn about all the main characters as well as side characters which I'm really grateful for, it actually made the book more interesting.
Erica Lindell, the heroine is a great character that any girl that loves to sightseeing instead of partying can all relate to. She's smart, sassy, and very caring that you'll love to have her as your friend. She's very competitive and compassionate as well a bit naive. Changing schools in a different state is a huge step for her but she managed to get through it and I'm glad she did because she meets Tyler. (Swoons) This hero is a bad boy in disguise and if you know me you'll know that I love me some bad boys. So yup I'm rooting for him LMAO.
Of course, I'm not going to forget about the main hero Sasha but I was not fond of him. Eh, more like I don't like him for Erica she deserves someone that can give her what she actually needs attention, support and unconditional love. Although he's so sweet and caring and I know many readers fell for him I think he was lacking on supporting Erica.
Being so important due to his role in the book Sasha is trying his best to fulfill his duties as well as trying to fulfill what his heart desires; Erica. It will be hard for him because he loves the heroine but she's not ready for a big commitment. I'm glad she put her foot down and said she was going to finish high school and go to college for a couple of years before going all in with this crazy relationship.
Overall I enjoyed reading this book the author did a great job with the plot and twist some were predictable while others slapped me in the face, yup didn't see that coming. The pace of the book went smoothly that is after the first chapters though. The love triangle was a great addition to the scenery. I love all of the characters they all have their own flaws as well as their own beauty. That ending had me in shock so of course, I can't wait to read the next book.
I humbly thank Annie Woods the author of this wonderful book for sending me this review copy.
The book is about a girl named Erica who meets a boy named Alexandre aka Sasha. Initially, Erica is absolutely ignorant of Sasha’s mysterious background. But when she does, her life takes an unexpected turn.
Now, I am gonna go step by step in order to make myself elaborate enough.
Plot : The plot of the story is quite fascinating with a very lucid narration. It was quite unique. The events were quite serially arranged.
Character : I really loved the set of character. Each of them stood out with their persona.
Narration : Now, the narration was one of the best but also one of the most dragging part of the book, at least to me. Because, there was too much of information about things like even tiny minute details. It sort of took me too deep into things and then pulled me out.
It was moderately paced which is a plus point in itself. Lastly, I would like to say, that it indeed was a delightful read and do recommend it. Also, I cannot wait for the sequel.

Oh boy this book… how can I even… I have so many mixed feelings about it. I liked it, I really did,, it took me a really long time to finish it, I will admit the biggest reason behind it is the fact that I’ve been drowning in school work but at the same time I wasn’t dying to pick it up every time. I thought about the book my reaction was “okay, I have to finish it” and then I remembered Tyler and was like “omg yeesss I have to keep reading” but when I picked up the book I went back to the “okay, I have to finish it” and I think that was because I wasn’t really a huge fan of Sasha, I thought I would be and at the beginning I was but then we met a Tyler and I died.
Sasha and Erica’s story is very cute, sweet, romantic, it’s an absolute fairytale until the end but maybe it was the fact that it was so dream-like, knowing that it was so unlikely to happen in real life, what stopped me from absolutely loving it. Tyler is my favorite character, hands down, he’s sweet and funny, charming, charismatic, he just won my heart and I wanted him to love me back and pick me up for Sunday morning runs…. Sadly that can’t happen so I wanted him to have a cute romantic love life, I was truly in Tyler land.
In conclusion, I really liked this book, I didn’t absolutely love it, but I liked it a lot and the end made me want to read the next book because of the cliffhanger, I want to know what happens next, I would very much like to read more. If you’re into romantic dramas, I would definitely recommend this book, and pretty much to any romantic out there, this book is so worth a shot.
I was gifted this book from the author for an honest review. I’m sorry it took me so long to get to it but I’m glad I finally did. Trying to remain spoiler free but that ending. Wow. The last half of the book was so intense. I love the characters. I seriously love Tyler and it’s hard not to want him happy too. I hope to see more of him. But man Sasha and Erica. So many questions and answers needed. I’m excited for the next book. That ending. My heart is still racing. Thank you for gifting me this book and can’t wait to read the sequel to find out what happens next.
My Review : I was sent this beautiful review copy by the author herself to put forward my honest and unbiased opinion.
First and foremost, I adored this book. A perfect mixture of teen drama, romance, humor and royal politics(yep).
Annie Woods follows the life of Erica Lindell, a teenager who comes to US along with her father to pursue her studies. But before going to US, she goes backpacking with her friends to Cambodia and meets Sarah, the love of her life and then the drama unfolds.
I loved how the author with simple sentences/emotions tries to convey us this pure and honest tale.
At times, I felt like being a part of Erica's life. It was just so real and I appreciate the author for it.
And the best thing was that the novel will raise up your expectations as it proceeds. I was definitely left agape when the author left with that huge cliffhanger. I so want the second book now.
This book I promise you is not at all just lovey-dovey cute but also offers us twists and turns in the most unexpected way. I seriously not am a fan of this genre but the twists/the love triangle(?) kept me so intrigued.
I loved the whole diverse cast of the book. Undoubtedly the author has put in a lot of effort to craft each character uniquely. I am definitely a fan of the protagonist Erica. She is so fun, sporty and also a geek(yaay). I also have a soft corner for Danny,so caring.
The only con I can find in the book is that the author abruptly starts a new scene without changing the chapter or something. At times I had to re-read parts to get the whole thing. Also, I would like the if author improves her interpretation of the scenes.
But all in all I loved and lived every minute of reading this romantic drama.
This page turner of a book is definitely recommended to all the romance fans out there. Oh,and also to get you out of that monster of a reading slump.
