Give the book a 5 maybe - but enjoyed the ending. It was a Christian ending where forgiveness and turning your life over to Christ was talked about. Everybody has a path that God wants them to be on and sometimes it is challenging to find your way. But when you do, great things happen in your life. It was very thought provoking at the end.

Priscilla becomes a star in LA in Western movies, and finds new life. Andrew becomes a pastor there.

Forgiveness

Such an incredibly emotional story of forgiveness. I think this is my new favorite of the series! I bawled the last 30 pages!

This is an author I picked up out of my mom’s book pile after she passed and just fell in love with the Winslow family.  No stranger to drama the family moves forward through time so beautifully.  And I love a book that starts with a family tree.  I am all in.  I am now on Book 20.  My mom didn’t get to read as far into the series as I have, but I love to know that she enjoyed the story of the same family.

Old Western movies growing in popularity in the early 1900s and Priscilla Winslow has a love for acting, but the theatre drama in New York has jaded her a bit.   Jason Ballard is the one from home who really loves her, but she just won’t let herself fall again.
At the same time, her cousin Andrew Winslow comes to CA to pastor a growing church.  And as a pastor’s kid, I can attest to the drama that surrounds church staff.
All this with God at the center just warmed my heart.

This series by Gilbert Morris is one of my absolute favorites. Each book follows at least one member of a generation in the Winslow family tree and the member(s) gets saved and finds true love. There's also some commentary on the social conditions of the time frame. Truly interesting.

wonderful as always...this time we went to CA as movies were just starting to be made. Learned a bit about life 'riding the rails' also.

The Silver Star refers to Priscilla Winslow, who has become a famous movie actress! She's in California, with her brother, Peter, who really wants to become a race car driver, but has a job working on cars on for Imperial Pictures, where Priscilla works. Jason Ballard, who had worked for Dan Winslow, Peter & Priscilla's dad, as overseer on Dan's ranch, has joined them overseeing the care of the animals used to film the Westerns. Jason is in love with Priscilla! Priscilla & Peter's brother, Cassidy Winslow & his wife, Serena, with their children, have also decided to move to California, where they bought an orange grove near Los Angeles. Their Cousin, Andrew Winslow & his wife, Dorothy, with their children have also moved to Los Angles to pastor Faith Temple.

With all these Winslows in one place, there are at least three story lines! It makes interesting reading!
