➳A contemporary romance that enhances the knowledge of going out of your comfort zone, and still try to find the balance between what is reality and what you really want...
➳Mark and Alex take a turn of events that at first I thought, "wait a second... should I even try to continue this book?" I DIDN'T WANT TO RUIN THE WONDERFUL ENDING FROM THE PREVIOUS BOOK! However, I kept goin' and came to a final realization that not every couple out there would be considered THE ideal couple to take an example from. For me, Alex and Mark have marked a place in my heart that brings joy, sadness, contempt, and comfort to the idea of having a partner who understands you through every way.
➳This book has everything that a true person who is looking for in regards to finding the true way to live. Everyone has their own way of living, Alex brings those comforting ideas to a maximum of thrills. To me, she is a character that has individual qualities that not many process, hence why I adore her so much as a strong independent woman that sets the example for many in the literature world, and also in the realistic one.
➳Overall, this was a story filled with passion in regards to finding out what you want to believe, dream of, and strive for it. Jacquelyn Middleton never disappoints and most likely never will in the future to come with her other books.

After reading (and loving) Jacquelyn Middleton's London Belongs to Me during the summer, I couldn't wait to read the sequel, London, Can You Wait?. I'm a huge fan of all things London and knew I would love both books. To my immense excitement, Jacquelyn Middleton allowed me my first paperback ARC as a book blogger, and was kind enough to sign it for me! I'm still in shock - thank you again, Jacquelyn.
It's always a challenge to review a sequel because we are very anti-spoiler at 5171 Miles Book Blog! We want to encourage readers to support authors, rather than revealing all of the details in a short synopsis, making readers forgo the book. It's a travesty, so I will be keeping myself in check, revealing my thoughts, and next to nothing regarding the plot.
London, Can You Wait? is the follow-up to Alex and Mark's life in London Belongs to Me. If you're eager to dive into this story, it can be read as a standalone, though I would not recommend impatience. There are important details about the story and lives of the characters readers will miss if they jump the gun. Besides, it's so much more fun to spend loads of time with loveable characters you wish were your friends in real life.
As I began reading and saw the direction the story was taking, I began to fear London, Can You Wait? was going to be a sequel that was better left unsaid. You know the ones - the stories with characters you love and endings that leave you fully satisfied, only to wreck your hopes and dreams in the future with a sequel. I was angry at a particular character for their actions and literally felt sick to my stomach as the story was unfolding. I'm attached to nearly every one of these characters. They feel like my "people" after spending hours upon hours with them, so when their actions don't match up with who I've known them to be, it hurts.
Luckily, Jax Middleton had a few tricks up her sleeve making this novel come around in the most perfect way. In this case, I'm grateful I'm a stubborn reader and usually stick it out until the end of every novel because there was a point when I wanted to stop reading. I felt so crushed and a little bogged down in the plot. Thankfully I kept at it, because I ended up loving this book as much as the first! The writing was stupendous, detailed, and well thought out. I loved spending time in not only London, but in Dublin and New York as well. The jet-setting of the characters made the story feel new and fun, but allowed me to get that taste of London I always desire. There are romantic scenes reminiscent of the first novel for nostalgic readers. And, all of our favorite characters were along for the ride, with the addition of a few new ones. Readers are sure to love Mark's mom and being able to get more of a sense of Mark's past life before meeting Alex, which added an unexpected and heartfelt element that was critical to the development of the story.
I was more than satisfied with the ending of this final installment in the London series. I know I will have a bit of book hangover in the days to come and will be missing not only Alex and Mark, but also Lucy and Freddie too. They were brought to life in the most realistic sense, making me wish I could travel to London and get to know them, or even add them up on social media. Call me a nerdy fangirl, I don't care, because I would fit in perfectly with these fictional Londoners!
I can't give these books enough praise. I savored both novels and hope you will consider picking them up right away! This title is releasing soon, on October 26th. In the meantime, you can catch up with London Belongs to Me while it is still just $1.99 on Amazon Kindle.

Oh my goodness! That was so romantic and fun. My eyes were glued to the story as I laughed, fan-girled with, cried, and loved right along with Alex. She’s a character after my own heart because she’s a geek just like me. Books are my life. They’re there for me when I’m lonely and sad; and most importantly, they never fail to make me feel alive. Characters like Alex make it so that it feels like she jumped out of the pages herself.
Alex and Mark are a strong couple that may have faltered as Mark becomes a heavy hitter and on the rise actor. I always think about if I were to ever meet an actor and have to share him with the whole entire world...literally. It’s not something I would be able to do. So I give props to the spouses of famous actors and actresses, it must be so hard! Which is why Alex and Mark end up in the situation they are in.
The two are deeply in love but being apart for weeks and months at a time, can really put a strain on a relationship. I enjoyed watching the two find a way back to each other. Because it’s inevitable for two people that are so in love. Thank you so much Kirkwall Books and Jacquelyn Middleton for sending me a copy of your books in exchange for an honest review! Just like the first in the series, LBTM, I rate this second one a solid 4 stars! Jacquelyn has made me fall in love with a group of characters I would gladly follow anywhere.
I was so happy to be back on the London streets with this amazing group of friends. Flash forward a year since the previous book left off and their are quite a few differences, but the same lovable faces. In this story we deal with Mark's rising fame and the troubles that often come with that, as well as Alex's lack of confidence and success. A story that has been told a few times but Jacquelyn's writing is so fresh and cute that I loved every bit of it.
I love Mark and Alex. I think they fit together so well and balance each other perfectly. I was so sad when certain things came to light in this book and I had to keep reading to see how things would end up. I was in this weird cross of wanting to root for them, but also not root for them, because I couldn't forgive some of the actions taken by the characters. I was just so invested in them! Once again, the side characters also make the book. I won't say much as to not give anything away, but one couple in particular I was so happy to see come together as I was calling it from the first book! I liked the addition of Simon as well and really adored watching him and Freddie grow as a couple.
By the end I was in tears over the dreamy Christmas time event. Again, no spoilers, but ugh swoon so much! I love Jacquelyn's writing, I really get sucked right in.
There wasn't much I didn't like about this book, but the book was a little slow in the middle for a bit and at times Alex got frustrating to me. Very minor annoyances in comparison to so many more positives!
These are genuinely perfect reads to snuggle into on a cold weekend. Cute and addictive books, these characters will remain some of my favorite. I can't wait to see what is next for Jacquelyn Middleton, she is a new auto-buy author for me and I am not so secretly hoping for more books with these characters!

This is the long awaited sequel to London Belongs to Me. Alex and Mark make the most adorable couple. And they are madly in love, what more could they ask for? Their life should be a fairy tale right? WRONG!
Mark is an actor and Alex is a playwright. With Mark's crazy hours and being gone for weeks on end, Alex begins to wonder if this is the relationship she signed on for? With no talks of marriage, is it really going anywhere?
Personally I think Mark takes Alex always being there for granted. He needs to put her first at times - take time off, say no every so often, whatever it takes.
She's not one to want to always share Mark with the world and his crazy fans! And how is this all helping her panic attacks? Lets just say they are getting worse but she has decided to hide it from Mark and try to cope on her own.
Will their fairy tale survive or will their relationship go down the dumps instead of into history?

Alex believed that she could do it and she did. She's living in London and is a playwright. The play she wrote has been doing well and now the public is awaiting her next success. When Alex first arrived in London she had an awful start, but she's found great friends and has been in a steady relationship with Mark. Mark is everything Alex ever dreamed about and their relationship moves to the next level when she meets his family. Is Mark the happily ever after she always hoped she'd find?
Mark is an actor and when a role in a British TV show hits it big he becomes famous overnight. This means that Alex has to share Mark with the public and this is not always easy. Mark is away a lot and he finds it difficult to say no to the suggestions of his agent. Now that Mark is a big star his life is looking bright and positive. Alex has had problems with anxiety attacks before and they've come back with a vengeance. Not wanting to ruin Mark's success she keeps this from him. How much will Alex keep to herself before she has to make a choice to bend or break?
Alex is such a sweet and kind person. She is also terribly naive, but she knows this about herself. She always gives everything in relationships and friendships, only to get hurt most of the time. She struggles with her self-confidence. Her mother isn't supportive of her choices and Alex has a hard time dealing with the emotional consequences. Mark has been her rock and I loved how caring they are towards each other. Alex is not afraid to be tough when she needs to be, but this often costs her a lot. Mark has been hiding a secret and I was hoping for him to find the courage to tell Alex what happened in the past.
London, Can You Wait? is a beautiful love story about two people who are so right for each other. I always love to read stories which are based in London. I've been there several times and all of my wonderful memories came to the surface while I was reading London, Can You Wait? Jacquelyn Middleton's writing is realistic and I could easily sympathize with the main characters. I loved her debut novel London Belongs to Me and with London, Can You Wait? Jacquelyn Middleton has written another great story that I highly recommend. London, Can You Wait? is a delightful story with fascinating main characters, many interesting emotional layers and brilliant writing.

You know a book is excellent when you give up meals and sleep to read it. Middleton's follow up to London Belongs to Me was outstanding! Her characters will own my heart for the rest of my life.
You know an author is talented when they write moments and plot points that make you want to throw the book against a wall, have you sobbing and feeling like these events are happening to you, leave you fearing for your life and in the pit of despair, and make you want to jump around with happiness all within a 450 page book. That's true artistry.
This book was VERY different from her debut, which I liked! The first book was all about a new life and new experiences and culture shock. This book was about relationships and working hard to keep what you love. It was also rather sexy, which I fully appreciated.
I'm actually quite sad my little adventure with Alex is over. She's quickly become one of my new favourite main characters.
Middleton is officially an auto-buy author to me... however, if she keeps writing about delicious cheese products, my waistline might be in danger!

I requested an e-ARC copy of ‘London, Can You Wait?’ from NetGalley and I am glad that I did. This was the book that introduced me author Jacquelyn Middleton. ‘London, Can You Wait?’ takes place over a year after ‘London Belongs to Me’. This book can read as a standalone but when I read Jacquelyn Middleton note at the beginning stating that by reading ‘London Belongs to Me’ you can get more out of the characters and their back stories, I decided to read ‘London Belongs to Me’ first. I am glad that I did this. Knowing backstory of the characters and some of the events that happened in the past helped me to get in to the story more.
For the people who didn’t read ‘London Belongs to Me’, I will give a brief overview. After betrayal of his boyfriend and best friend Alex Sinclair decides to leave Florida and everyone behind. She is playwright and in order to follow her dreams she decides to move to London. Alex is naïve, sweet, geeky and kind. She is also really insecure. Alex stays with her British friend Harry. Moving to a new country and having just enough rent money for a while doesn’t help her anxiety and panic attacks. By a lucky coincidence Alex runs into her friend Lucy, who she met online and her life in London starts to change for the better. Lucy and Freddie, who is Lucy’s gay best friend, are awesome. They are fun, supportive and they are the ones who introduced Mark to Alex. Mark Keegan is an actor. He is still struggling finding an acting job, so he works in different jobs. Ohhh without I forgot he is also Irish, what can I say I love the accent :) Their quadruple helped Alex a lot. Even though the gang has their up and downs, they are always together and supporting each other.

He is dealing with fame and everything that comes with it. The main problem is he does not realize how his workaholic behavior and fame affects his relationships. After launching her first play with a success, now Alex is struggling with her job and by Mark being away all the time adds more to the mix. Seeing Alex struggling with her anxiety and panic attacks was heart breaking. I think one of the reasons I felt everything really strongly because as a person who is struggling with panics attacks for the last 10 years, I can truly understand her struggles. While Alex is struggling with these Mark has no idea what is going on. He is so focus on his job and success; he acts like a blind person. Oh, Mark, Mark, Mark… There are so many things I want to say about you but I know I won’t be able to without spoiling the story so I am holding it in. Still, let me tell you guys this you will hate him, get super angry with him, feel sorry for him, your heart will break for him and you will love him back :) There are some twists that you won’t see it coming and you will be shocked. Seriously, I laughed, I cried, I got angry. With this book Jacquelyn Middleton took me an emotional rollercoaster ride that I didn’t expect. It’s an emotional read and you will literally feel all the emotions at one point or another. If you are looking for something that has all the spices in one pack like sweet, inspiring, funny, heart breaking and little sexy, this book is just for you.

I was so excited to have the opportunity to read London, Can You Wait. Jacquelyn Middleton has quickly earned her spot on my auto-buy list after reading the second novel in the London Belongs to Me series, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she writes another novel soon! I immediately sank my teeth into this novel the second it showed up on my doorstep and I was thrilled to see that so many of the characters I loved from LBTM were also in the second book.
Middleton's writing is beautiful and I honestly could go on and on about how much I love it, but when I really sit and think about what it is that makes her writing so great, I just keep going back to the fact that her characters truly feel like my friends. She creates these totally relatable characters that draw you into the story and make you feel the things that they're feeling. I absolutely love that about Middleton's novels and I hope she continues to craft such lovable characters.
Without giving anything away, let's talk about the characters and the plot just a little bit. Alex is the same old cute blonde we grew to love in the first novel, but this time she is a little more successful in her career and has earned her place in London. She has grown as an individual and I love how she connects with the other characters. Everything is going great for her... until one day it isn't. Lets just say that Middleton really pulled the rug right out from underneath me about halfway into the novel, and I just didn't think I could go on. I'm talking ugly tears and anger. I'm serious Jax, there were tears, and then anger... all directed towards you! Just kidding, I knew you would redeem yourself in the end. And just like I thought, you wrapped everything up into a neat little bow at the end and my world was complete!
As you might have already noticed, I was a huge fan of this novel. Mainly because I really grew to love and adore the characters. The plot is fantastic and fast paced, but the characters truly made the story. I would highly recommend reading both novels in this series! Thank you so much to Jacquelyn Middleton for sharing these wonderful novels with me! I can't wait to read more from you soon!

London, Can You Wait? can be read as a standalone, but for a deeper understanding of the characters, setting and plot you may want to read the first book in this series first. With that being said, I loved both of these books. They are such fun to read and have deep characters that you can relate to. You will laugh, may cry, and will be delighted from cover to cover.

Oh my gosh you guys! This book wrecked me... I was in actual tears. It’s not that the plot was super original, but I just love the characters so darn much and I could really relate to some of the stuff that happened.

I’ll start by saying I loved LBTM. When I read the book I was in a reading slump, it had been hard for me to find a GREAT story, something that made me feel. I found that on LBTM and I fell in love with the story and characters (especially Keegs). So, when I heard about the sequel I was beyond thrilled.
London, Can You Wait continues Alex’s story after a couple of years from the ending of LBTM. She’s now in a whole different place in her life but she remains the same: a simple, geeky girl who loves theater and Mark, her boyfriend. She still hangs out with her bezzie mates Lucy and Freddie and in general everything is going well, or so everyone thinks. The truth is she’s having anxiety attacks again, and with Keegs’ career getting better and better they barely see each other…
This book was about a lot of changes and it was great to see Alex being more mature and I really liked the way her character developed. She’s one of my favorite main characters. Not because she’s perfect, but because she feels real. And that’s exactly what LCYW gives us, an insight to the real life of a young woman trying to find her place in the world, trying to make her relationship work and dealing with a lot of things.
Talking about the plot, story, pace…this book was a rollercoaster. I mean… Jackie totally played with my feelings through almost the whole book. The first part was good, but the second part…OMG! I couldn’t stop reading! I just had to know what was happening next… I NEEDED to know everything was going to be alright. I won’t give you spoilers, but oh my…you definitely have to prepare yourself to read LCYW (like with a nice cup of coffee, snacks, and tissues, just in case…).
I felt connected to the book in many ways and that’s maybe why I enjoyed it so much. I don’t think there was a better way to complete Alex’s story and in general I loved the story. I loved it so much! It was sweet, funny and heartbreaking too, but above all, it felt real. I wish I could have Lucy, Freddie and even Simon as my friends, and let’s not forget about Mark, I mean who would not want to have a Keegs for oneself?

London can you wait was a hilarious and yet more serious sequel to the first. Jacquelyn Middleton expertly explored anxiety and relationships in this second novel while maintaining levity and drama that kept me turning the page. I could not put this book down and completely fell into these characters lives. Would highly recommend if you enjoy contemporary with a nerdy twist and relatable characters.

London, Can You Wait? is the first book by Jacquelyn Middleton for me. However, it is, the second book in the London Belongs To Me series. I didn’t read the first book and didn’t feel lost at all. There is some backstory that I need, but it is not necessary. Ms. Middleton has a smooth, natural rhythm to her writing style. She does an excellent job of conveying the characters’ depth of emotions throughout the story for the reader to experience the sadness, depression, joy, and hope with the characters.
London Can You Wait? is the story about two individuals whose past haunts them in different ways and puts them on a path of potential relationship destruction. Mark is an actor finally making a name for himself. He is afraid to take a break or turn away a fan. He takes the term workaholic to a whole new level. He can’t say no to his agent and he can’t say yes to Alex when she needs time with him.
Alex is an up-and-coming playwright with an early success behind her but is now getting doors slammed in her face. Add to her disappointment; she has severe anxiety that holds her back from going to Mark when invited to the set. When she does venture out with Alex, she questions why he is interested in her and hates some of the comments his fans say about her.
Ms. Middleton sets up a couple of twists in the story that shock the reader, at least it did this reader. It’s not that I didn’t expect Mark’s behavior at the initial twist even though I didn’t want to read it, it works here. What makes the first twist work for this couple is that Mark has so many secrets that he doesn’t share with Alex and vice versa. There is a lot of small betrayals by omission that is later compounded by more serious failures. Neither Alex nor Mark shares what is going on in their life or their heads most of the time nor do they share the history thereby setting them up to act irrationally. The twists manage to shock and later say thank god.
The London setting, the realistic portrayal of a celebrity’s life, and engaging ancillary characters add to the enjoyment of the story. The secondary characters take over the story sometimes. There are a lot of potential stories brewing in them if the author so decides. The main characters take the reader through some stress and angst while the ancillary characters lighten the mood at times.
I struggle with my rating, go back and forth, weighing all the things I love with the few aspects that make me crazy. Finally settled on 3.75. I can honestly say that I’m happy that I didn’t read book one first. If London Belongs To Me ends on a happy-for-now note, the events in this book would make me question why Mark and Alex aren’t communicating at this point in the relationship. There are some moments in the story that slow down enough that I had to struggle to keep focus. I believe this is a trap of many new authors who try to be detail oriented. Yes, we want to know the people, setting, and their interactions but sometimes the author must trust her readers’ imagination also and remember that more isn’t necessarily better.
In summary, London, Can You Wait? is nicely done. The depiction of the struggle of a person with anxiety is well done. It is also a good representation of the downside of celebrity and a person in that industry can get overwhelmed with the fans, fear of failing, and an entourage that doesn’t have your best interests at heart. I like Alex and Mark, their friends, and their fight for a life together. The story wraps up nicely. I will keep my eye out for more books by Jacquelyn Middleton in the future.

4.5 STARS! This is a fantastic sequel to the author’s debut novel, London Belongs to Me, which I absolutely loved! Although this book can be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend reading London Belongs to Me first to fully understand and appreciate this storyline and the awesome characters in it. Besides, it was a fantastic book so YES, of course you should read it.
Yet again, I was completely engrossed in this story. As I was hoping for after reading the first book, this book primarily focuses on Alex and Mark’s relationship. What I didn’t expect was to cry so many happy and sad tears throughout the book. OMGAHHHH! With Mark’s skyrocketing acting career and Alex’s struggle for continued success in her own career, the personal demons they each faced and tried to protect each other from, and the toll those stresses take on their relationship, and the effects it has within their tight-knit friendship circle, I found myself deeply immersed in this story and desperate to get to the end. There were definitely some very difficult and outright upsetting moments but I think it was well-written and the story progressed quite realistically. Through it all, I remained hopeful for Alex and Mark because you just know and feel how special they truly are.....together and as individuals. In the end, I loved how they evolved. Loved it! And as with the first book, I absolutely loved their squad of friends - - they’re funny and awesome - - and undeniably add value to the enjoyment of the story. Before I start weeping and word-vomiting about all of the things that London, Can You Wait? did to me and my heart, I feel like I need to go back to the series’ beginning really quickly.
The best way I can describe London Belongs to Me, the first novel in this series, is that it’s like Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl for the modern adult. It’s chock-full of geeky goodness — like explanations on how internet friends can become the best IRL friends you ever have (which I have personal experience with) — and heartwarming adult growing pains moments and the most beautiful friendships you’ll ever read. But London Belongs to Me left me with soooo many questions. Luckily, that’s where London, Can You Wait? comes in.
Where the first novel was almost exclusively focused on Alex and her scriptwriting career and just trying to settle herself in London (with romance frustratingly hanging out on the periphery of the story), the sequel is very heavily focused on Alex’s relationships with her boyfriend and her closest friends. It’s almost like the sequel takes the most downplayed aspects of the first novel and amplifies them, while also downplaying the most central aspects of the first novel.

I got so frustrated reading this book between Alex and Mark. I'm glad in the end they got their HEA, but that wasn't without the drama.
There was a character that was introduced that I was hoping would stick around. Sadly, they didn't because of something that was revealed and I was a little sad but also mad. Seriously, I feel like I was mad throughout the book and it makes me sound like I hated the book. And I promise I didn't. I still absolutely adored the book to pieces. :)
I seriously love all the side characters; most of what I tabbed as memorable parts were from the side characters. I absolutely loved all the relationships formed in these 2 books. I'm so glad Alex got her feet in London and her career really took off; it brought a huge smile to my face.
I've been told that London Belongs To Me is considered a prequel to this one. However, after finishing both, I definitely recommend reading both. The first book gives a lot of back story and it's about her starting to get her life in London.
Overall I really enjoyed these books and I have some MAJOR wanderlust!

It is also a good representation of the downside of celebrity and a person in that industry can get overwhelmed with the fans, fear of failing, and an entourage that doesn’t have your best interests at heart. I like Alex and Mark, their friends, and their fight for a life together. A couple interesting twists and the story wraps up nicely. I will keep my eye out for more books by Jacquelyn Middleton in the future.

I really enjoyed this novel! Seeing Mark and Alex after the initial love story was something I loved seeing. We explore what it’s like after the getting-together part of a relationship, which is often not touched on in novels. I also loved revisiting our side characters, like Lucy, Freddie, and Harry. A very satisfying read.

I was waiting ages to read this! I liked the fist book but this one I didn't love it nor hate it, but it made me cry a lot. Though it was too much "happily ever after" for my liking. :/

I devoured this book! I even liked it more than the first one, London Belongs To Me. Once I started it, I couldn't stop reading so I finished it in one day. I was enthralled with the drama and Alex and Mark's relationship. I just had to know what happened. I also loved the relationships between all of the characters. I was on an emotional rollercoaster the whole time. It was so good from start to finish.

I started this back when it was released but got distracted by other books (Sometimes I'm not in the mood for YA/NA books). I won't stop this time until I'm finished.

This book was an emotional roller coaster that I wasn't prepared for. I lost count of how many tissues I used. At one point I cussed at the book.

Puffy eyes and ugly crying are the results of reading this book. I loved it! It’s heartbreaking and beautifully written. It had me swooning.

When I was approved for this ARC I bought book one, London belongs to me.
I love the fame trope, the rock star, film, theatre settings and personalities so wanted to read Alex and Marks early story. TBH though I was underwhelmed, it was OK but not great for me, a bit ...err...average, mundane. If this hadn't been an ARC I wouldn't have read it.
What a shame that would be though, its a Fabulous read, packed with drama, emotion, heartbreak, betrayals, love, lust and some incredible characters, all the things I love about this genre. I'd hate to have missed it and its definitely one for my keepers/re-reader files!
So we begin with Alex and Mark living together, both striving to build their respective careers, and finding it hard to make time for each other.
Mark has been successful in getting a TV role and now has become a household name, and the little bit of time they do get together gets broken into by fans, by his agent, by last minute opportunities he can't turn down.
Alex feels like she's last down the list but doesn't want to be That Girl. You know, the one that can't cope, gets needy, ruins his career. she knows how much this means to him, he's been so supportive of her career, even when she was thinking of giving up she just can't complain now his is taking off. things have to improve surely?
But they don't and the time spent apart gets longer and longer, visits get put off, holidays cancelled and Alex panic attacks which had been pretty stable get worse.
And then, just over a third of the way in crisis hits - I really didn't see that coming, and its heartbreaking, shocking, unbelievable.
Getting that so early made the story for me, I adore drama and heartbreak - so long as I know there's a HEA of course! So often its there and done with in just a few pages, so to have it covering a huge section of the book was perfect for me. I was wondering, nail biting, could they survive this, get past it? How would things work out?
The surprises just keep coming too. We were there as both Alex and Mark grew as a result of what happened, how they needed to change, needed to sort out their lives and both became stronger people for it. We're all a product of our pasts, what happens to us shapes us, and there are some big secrets from the past here to come out.
Its not all Alex and Mark though, but Harry,Tom, Lucy, Freddie, Si, a great supporting cast who's stories played their own part in building this wonderful second part of the novel.
It had everything part one lacked for me, and more. I'm so glad I didn't stop at LBTM, and read more from these guys, it had me laughing, crying, heartbroken, angry, furious, well...you name the emotion and this book brought it out.
A terrific read and clearly writing LBTM has helped Jacquelyn hone her writing skills for this genre. I look forward to what she does next.
Stars: five, a fantastic second half, a story so much more than part one.

I was a bit apprehensive about reading this at first - I really enjoyed the first book, but I was quite happy to leave things where they were, to not find out about the ups and downs of Alex and Marks' relationship. But because I enjoyed the first book so much, I decided to give it a go. Turns out I was right to be apprehensive. I loved getting to know the characters again, particularly all the supporting characters. But it didn't take very long for me to start getting worried. The majority of this book is hard to read - not because it's badly written or anything, but because of what Alex is going through. More than once, I was tempted to put the book down, step away and forget it ever existed. It was actually enough to put me in a bad mood, and it's not so good when a book affects my emotions like that. But, thankfully, I persevered, and it was worth it in the end. Middleton sneaks in a few twists and turns, and pulls it out of the mire. It may not be an easy read, but it is a good one.
