They say that behind every great man is a great woman…but what if that woman is a Werewolf?

THIS IS A MONSTER BOOK - We have taken pains to price the book low.  (Craig is crying in the corner, don't mention I reduced it to what you see).

The readers LOVE the Nomad!

“This series is one of the best I’ve ever read.”
“This is the series that keeps on going with great writing and wonderful characters.”
“I absolutely love this series, and hate the wait at the same time between books.”

The Forsaken have gone into hiding, and Terry sends the Force de Guerre’s tactical teams on missions around the globe to root the evil ones out. When Ted can no longer keep the pod flying, things heat up quickly in a race to corner and finish Mister Smith.

Nomad’s Force starts nearly one-hundred years before Michael’s return to earth and the events that happen in Justice Is Calling.

What does the mundane look like when gearing up for war? This snippet is a taste of that. How can TH keep the blade sharp when no enemy stands before him? What will his kids do? Always his children, but not children

The FDG finds out how small they really are when they have to search the world for their enemy. And the New Schwabenland pod is getting old and doesn't charge like it used to. Is Terry's dominance waning?

I see my other lives, a career in the Marines, those damn hand-written tests in law school, a business consultant, as if they're stories from a book. I see my books as if I lived there, as if I were friends with the characters. All things we remember are behind us, only those we imagine lie before.

I'm not sure which place I prefer, but I don't have to choose. They live together in my mind. My books have some award nominations, they have bestseller tags across multiple countries. I write about justice, honor, and loyalty because that's what I care about. My stories are mostly set within worlds that haven't been, but could be. We have to be ready for when those times come.

No matter where I went, I always had a book with me. Thanks to 21st Century technology, I now have hundreds of books loaded on my phone and always with me. This breakthrough allows me to binge read my favorites. How many books would I have read on deployments had I not had to have a physical book with me? I paced myself so I wouldn't finish too quickly.

We aren't encumbered like that now. I love the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, JRR Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, and so many more. I have been compared to Andre Norton and that is humbling - she was an incredible author with a huge list of novels to her credit. With every new book, I aspire to live up to those that you, the readers, have compared me to.

Through a bizarre series of events, I ended up in Fairbanks, Alaska. I never expected to retire to a place where golf courses are only open for four months out of the year. But that's the way it is. It is off the beaten path. My wife and I get to watch the northern lights from our driveway. Our dog has lots of room to run. And temperatures reach fifty below zero. We have from three and a half hours of daylight in the winter to twenty-four hours in the summer.

It's all part of the give and take of life. If we didn't have those extremes, then everyone would live in the sub-arctic.

The series is jumping forward in time in big chunks quite frequently now, and I find I don't have enough time to get attached to the new characters - the kids and grandkids, etc.

I also think I just generally have a sense of not knowing where in the timeline I am in regard to the Kurtherian series and that frustration is following me through to the spin offs, too.

The book had a lot of action and the long arc saw a lot of movement. Unfortunately, I only marginally cared.

Another Great Read

This series. Man!!!! I can't stress enough about how awesome the Kutherian Gambit series is. The further I venture into the actual timeline I'm just in awe about how the stories and characters connect to each other. Don't sleep on Michael Anderle, he's definitely doing some big things. I'm definitely on board to read everything he's written.

The first 350 pages there was a lot of running around with not much happening. TH has spread the TAC team to the 4 corners of the Earth searching for Forsaken who haven't turned up in years.
The last hundred or so pages goes by in the blink of an eye.

Enjoyed the series so far but I think it's time it ends. Ignoring the white elephant in the room that these books suffer from..... I kind of feel that the vampires are getting a raw deal.

Seems to me vampire are not anymore evil than were's and that not all vampire are forsaken yet in this series we see a shift in mentality that they are all "evil" and are all forsaken...seems to me Bethany Anne had a few vamps in her camp that were not always all innocent little daisies..

I am just not buying it, how many of the vampires might have been good but ended up going bad as they probably felt they had no choice if they wished to survive due to Terry's genocidal crusade.

I understand how this started and the need to protect humans from those that ARE forsaken but it seems to me during the fight its become more of a kill em all hatred induced bigotry thing and this attitude seems to be spreading.

What"s next when the vamps are all gone turn on the weres cause in case some have forgotten they were not much better than vampire pre WWDE.

No I think what needed to happen was for someone to show up and show the vamps a better way instead of letting Mr Smith step in the role as leader....kind of like how it is for the were's....before char stepped up as alpha the main were characters were indeed going down the same road as most of the forsaken and it only changed due to a change in leadership....

Dunno but Akio, Andrew and Joseph really dropped the ball I think...they really should have stepped up instead of playing whack-a-mole.....

OMG did I struggle to finish this one. All the speechifying. Flashed back to standing in formation,in the sun, listening to some officers droning on about positive mental attitude, rah rah rah. Is it over yet.

Great! Your best to date!

Hi again Craig, I just wrote an extensive review on Audible since that was where I finished this at 0400, your books do help this broken down old warrior, it's been since 2010 since I last saw combat, the last 20% of the book reminded me of the surge in Iraq starting in 2007 and my Unit were doing2-3 combat missions daily, and it gets to the point where TH said in the book I'm tired I think I'm done for now. AQ made sure of that in 2010 in AG, where I almost had a meeting with St. Michael (combat soldiers like you understand what that means) for any civilians reading it means I almost died! Somehow I made it out not to walk again for2 more years. I retired in 2013. I really love this character he has the exact make up of a Marine, the way they build them at Paris Island! The way you described him and FDG from the very first book all the way here is exactly the way you would build an expeditionary force, finally into a whole Army, stocked with fwd detachments, Recon, SF, SUT, etc. I'll email you and chat with you more thanks so much for helping me stay sane! 😄 hopefully this next Surgery will somewhat bring a bit of normalcy back in my life, but I will never stop reading as long as you, Michael, and the whole LMBPN Crew keep writing! I wondered what would happen with the FDG, if the Forsaken go into hiding for any length of time, and this book answered my musings, and then some!

I had figured that the troops would get sloppy, and the numbers would dwindle, as the warriors lost interest, but was very happy to be proven wrong - but then, with Akio as an example for Terry, and Terry as an example for his troops, I should have expected that outcome, really!

I enjoyed this book, as I can saw the results of all that waiting, and how Terry and Char worked out how to keep things together, while their team spread across the globe, determined to be there, and ready for when the Forsaken appeared again.

This was a slower book than the previous ones - like any kind of battle against evil, there is always times when you get long periods of boredom, interspersed with brief periods of all out fury, and this book showed that, in spades!

I think my favourite part, was when Terry devised a competition between the platoons - it was so funny!

So, now I've finished this book, it's back to the Kurtherian Gambit, and the book, Never Surrender!

That's one thing I love about following the chronological reading list - I get to sample so many different series involved in it, j @ll at the same time!

I've found some amazing new authors, for me, this way!

i was a bit reluctant to start the TH Walton series since i wasn't the biggest fan of him from his initial appearance in the main TKG stroyline. i didn't dislike him but nor did i think enough about him to be chomping at the bit to hear his story.

i was wrong. TH and Char and the other cast of the Nomad series are very well written and the story is fun to follow.

my chief complaint has been brewing since about the point where the Force starts going global. for several books now i have been wondering when Boris will show up. the explanation given when boris is finally mentioned seems more like a band aid and an oops "we forgot about this" when his inclusion in the events leading up to the mention would have made for a vastly different story

Words Hurt

Lovely story, except for two things.
1. I've no doubt that the desire to smash in the head of a smarmy low class individual, who calls out nasty hate-filled names at our loved ones resonates with everyone, but name calling isn't a good enough justification for killing someone. (No matter how we justify the act after the fact.)
This one is probably just me, but it felt like I was waiting through most of this story to find out which forsaken wasn't going to be killed.
2. The descriptions of the fighting left me feeling as if the choice between life and death was more whimsy than a calculated determination.

Time marches on

The reader is given well fleshed out snapshots of major & minor events in the world of TH, the FDG & the slowly rebuilding communities of scattered people after WWDE.
The FDG is faced with the challenge of building & training for battle against the Forsaken, while the unknown amounts of time between FINDING them makes it difficult to maintain the qualitative edge necessary to win or even survive going against them. TH is forced to learn how to let go & delegate more of the burden. The book does give us some major action by the end to give us some excitement!

WOW!!!

So after I finished this book I needed to sleep on it before I could write this review, because wow, population growth, commerce, construction. Through this whole series it has been a rollercoaster ride with TH and Char and it's amazing to see all that they have helped to accomplish. I'm a little sad that there is only one more story left in the series. But I'm also looking forward to what's in store for them in the future. I'm also looking forward to finding out who all stays on earth and who leaves with BA.

Continued success!

Once again, I have failed at my objective. I wanted to post FIVE stars for this amazing series. Craig, you are the bomb! I love Terry, Char and all the test of the crew. They are real, nasty to their enemies, and honest about themselves. Kind of like so many of us "real" people would like to be. And, I wish I could cuss as good as some of them. That's a real stress reliever, that. Waiting to read the final (sob) chapter in this man's Marines. I look forward to more of Craig Martelle's writings. As soon as I finish this first.:))

A CM/MA SYFY Novel (NF) (AKGS) (THWCB - 9)

CM/MA have penned the ninth episode of the Gambit series. In this novel the FDG has expanded world wide is helping people and selecting more recruits for the FDG Training Program. The problem s they face are not serious, but dangerous. In a wartime setting you can relax as well as being ready. One begat the other, but if you sit on your laurels you will find that you may have missed the Foresaken arrive. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Thoroughly enjoying this series

I’ve really been enjoying this series on TH and friends. It has a real-ness to it. The characters aren’t perfect, they lose their tempers, make mistakes, are in relationships that challenge them. They are encountering situations for which their is no prior solution and have to adjust.

It’s also fun from a pioneering/sci-fi perspective. What WOULD the world be like if we had no electricity but all the old things in the past out in ruins? The tech and everyday living side is as much fun as the suspense-battle side.

Another winner!

Lots of action and adventure as TH and the FDG search for the Forsaken that seemed to have disappeared from their site, apparently gone underground. With his kids enhanced, TH tries to maintain everyone's preparedness without burning them out. There is humor and suspence, as they experience what life throws at them. Although longer than the proceeding books, it was well worth the extra time.

Great books

I love this series. The characters are well thought out. If you haven't tried them but have read the Bethany Ann series then you are missing out . They are an extension of that series but awesome all in their own. I have to say they are my favorite of the expanded world of Michael anderles books.

I started out reading Death Becomes Her and now continue to read all the Kurtherian Gambit books. All the authors are fantastic and the storylines and characters are the best. If you like SciFi and fantasy books, you will love these books and look toward to the next ones like I do.

Audiobook review: Nomad’s Force covers decades of time of events post WWDE. Most of the time is spent prepping for the Forsaken battles and spreading out the teams. The generations of Walton’s was a nice edition. I wonder what role all of the characters will play in the future. The narrator did a great job!

Good story!!

These are entertaining, easy to follow, "sorta", just good story telling. It chaps my a$$, that it says two more words required, so the machine will let me go to next good story. I don't like to be told I have to do something. Especially by a little machine. If I use the "c" word, it will know I'm talking about it and get all out of shape.

Nothing much happens for 80% of the book. Force is split into multiple groups which go to different places to look for the bad guys, who are not found. Basically multiple stories all doing very little. The last 15% is the big fight which is the least exciting conflict in the whole series, I'd say this is a waste of paper except its Kindle.

What a great series to get immersed into! Really enjoying this series and love the characters. Fast paced action that is very well written, I was completely drawn in and didn't want it to end. TH it a complex character and his story and sheer will makes you want to pay close attention and see what he does next. Eagerly looking forward to dive into next book.
