***The omnibus version of this serial has now been released. If you want to read Wyn's story all in one go, I recommend getting the full book rather than reading the five episodes individually (it's cheaper, too).***
“Don’t ever scare us like that again,” Arc grumbles. I take the bait. “Or what?” “Or I’ll leash you and keep you within reach at all times.”
Wyn and her Guardians are trying to reach the entrance to her mother's realm. But there are a few things standing in her way - including someone wanting to kill her. And her attraction to her Guardians isn't making things easier either...
Episode 2 of the reverse harem serial Winter Princess. 18+.
***A new episode will be released every two weeks. Five of them will be bundled together at the end for those who enjoy longer books so they can read it in one go. If you don't like serials, please don't leave a bad review but wait until the omnibus edition is out.***
Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today & International Bestselling Author whose books are filled with strong heroines who don't have to choose.
She embraces her Scottishness with fantastical Scottish settings and a dash of mythology, no matter if she's writing about Celtic gods, cat shifters, or the streets of Edinburgh.
When she's not typing away at her favourite cafe, Skye loves dried mango, as much exotic tea as she can squeeze into her cupboards, and being covered in pet hair by her tiny black cat (who's secretly a demon).
First of all, great thinking on the "what happened previously" part. There wasn't like a detailed explanation of what happened in the previous episode, but it still helped me to get in tune with the story. Now, the second episode progressed rather smoothly. There were part were I was slightly confused and couldn't understand what and why was happening, but everything was quickly explained and so far I like where this is going. I still want to get to know the guys better and their personalities. Though, what the hell kind of guardians are they? It's the second time in the span of a day (for them) that Wyn has been attacked and where were they? This is getting ridiculous.
So, yeah, so far so good. Waiting for the next one.
Part one was good. Part two is even better!! You really start to get more in depth view of Wyn and her powers. You start to see the bond between Wyn and the guys develope (and hot damn, is it good). You also get to see the development of each characters personality. Overall it's another excellent book and I can't wait for part 3.
Skye MacKinnon is doing an amazing job with this serial and I can't wait to see what happens next. She has a way of making you easily see images of the words she writes.
Well Skye MacKinnon, you've done it again!! I cannot believe how amazing Winter Princess: Episode 2 was!!! I devoured this book from the second i realized it had arrived on my kindle.
Winter Princess: Episode 2 is the newest release from the Daughter of Winter serial. The last episode left us with Wyn having totally shown us her Bad-Ass side and the Guardians doing what they do best, dealing with the consequences of Wyn's actions. This episode once again follows these amazing characters through their journey to return Wyn to her birth place, the journey however is not as easy as it may sound.
I love the characters in this book! Wyn is funny and strong, at times too stubborn (but given the circumstances you can understand why) and she just has a genuinely good heart. Holy Guardian Hotness; Arc, Storm, Frost and Crispin. These men are amazing male characters!! Each one of them is totally unique and has a different role in the group. I am possibly the hugest fan of Arc and that has not changed in this book. He is still absolutely perfect; the Kilt, the accent, the muscles. Skye can i please have him? But i was surprised to see that i was really starting to love Storm as well, there's just something about the Alpha hero. I have a feeling each book will make me love each brother even more.
Episode 2 just completely blew me away. It was fun, it was funny, it had action, it was hot, it was just all over perfect. I cannot wait for the next installment!!!!
Skye i need Episode 3! and my own set of guardians!
I adore Wyn lol she could be my spirit animal. She's got an entertaining & fun personality even when she's in complete denial about her current situation and had her moments of immaturity lol she's basically the kind of child-adult we all aspire to be...or maybe that's just me? Lol
Anywho! Episode 2 picked up right where we left off with Wyn managing to get away from trouble by the skin of her teeth and her sexy guardians riding in on white horses. Ok not really. We actually can add grand theft auto to their resumes but let's focus on the important stuff instead 😅
Important stuff like the dynamic between our girl Wyn & her guardians. I won't spoil anything for you guys but I will say this...THAT FERRY SCENE WAS OMG. I was all kinds of flushed & warmed up on her behalf 🤣
On a more serious note though, I enjoyed this book much more than the first one. Which is probably because we got more interaction with the guys and Wyn and a dive into the connection they seem to share.
The story in general is a light read with humor and sexiness all deliciously intertwined and it's definitely in my top 2 favorite serials (of which I'm usually not even a fan in general till they are done). The fluidity of the story and dialogue kept me invested and even though there's never enough and I'm greedy for a solid novel length story the writing and adventure make it worth waiting between episodes. Great job Skye! Can't wait for book 3 and to see what happens next :)
I received a free advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it
Okay, I thought part one was totally amazing and it is, but part two is even better! Wyns story continues where part one ended. The excitement, danger and humour just does not stop. Our gang is Closer to reaching the other realm but not without incident.
Skye Mackinnon has written the second instalment with the same flair and pizazz as part one. The relationships between Wyn and her four guardians is electric, the serious moments are strong and at times tender, the humour is two fold, Wyn bounces off the different personalities of her guys, and her inner monologues are hilarious and make you laugh out loud
This really is shaping up to be a great series, I am enjoying the exquisite torture if waiting for the next instalment. This series is extremely well written, the writer clearly has a talent and imagination for creating such an enjoyable series, and as such I need to recommend this read to everyone, and a little spoiler of sorts, I have two words that I have adopted from this instalment, Unicorn Farts! 🦄
Episode 2 was even better than Episode 1! We get to learn more about Wyn and her Guardians, see more of their powers, and have some heat added into the mix ;) I thought it was hard in Episode 1 to pick my favorite Guardian, but it became even harder in Episode 2 haha. I was worried that the 4 would fall into the normal RH male types (brooding/badass, flirty, shy/nerdy, etc.) but the 4 haven't completely gone there/there are enough differences it didn't bother me in the slightest. I like that we get little glimpses of their past/learn about their creation, but are left wanting more. I enjoyed the little romance/steamy additions, added some funny moments to some serious situations. I liked that this episode contained just as much action-packed scenes as Episode 1, and that Skye provided amazing vivid descriptions of Wyn's power and of the bond forming between the 5 of them.
I think Skye has done a great job with this second installment of her serial! I can't want to read more and see where she is taking us on this journey. I highly recommend everyone read it.
Episode 2 takes off just after episode 1 ended. And now that Wyn is reunited with her Guardians they are back on the path to go to the gateway to meet the Winter Queen, Wyn's mother and hopefully get answers. But that's easier than done. Especially when there's something or someone determined to Stop Wyn, even if it means killing her...
There was more humour in this and the relationship between Wyn and her Guardians are definitely building. And while Arc seems to be a girm favourite for others i think Storm is my go to guy. But hey this is RH and it's building up more so Why Choose?
I'm finding that I'm enjoying this serial, theres enough to keep me entertained and wanting more without it feeling rushed or too drawn out. I can't wait for the next installment as so much is going through my head with that ending!
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Picking up where the 1st left off, the magic, mystery and humor continues. Poor Wyn has a bullseye on her for the elements trying to take her out. The guys are a bit overwhelming, too. The bond forming between them all starts to interfere with her magic and her sanity. So much happens in the span of a few days that you left as awhirl as Wyn.
And Wyn has some very descriptive terms for what is happening, too. She doesn't lose her sparkle at all. Who else could describe the look of magic as unicorn farts? As for the guys, it's gruff concern, puppy dog eyes and a few moments where control gets swept aside much to Wyn's chagrin.
A nice sequel to 1 and with enough intrigue and heart to keep your interest piqued for the next. I am very happy to have been selected as an ARC reader for this new series.
Stones of Winter is the second episode of the Winter Princess serial. It might be even better than the first installment. Wyn and her Guardians are trying to reach the gate to her mother's realm, however someone doesn't want her to make it there alive. And to complicate matters even more, Wyn is in serious lust for her Guardians (all of them).
This book packs a punch; it has plenty of action and the sexual tension is increased threefold. There's also humor. Wyn is funny, both aloud and with her internal monologue and the guys get in a few shots as well. I love the lighthearted feel to the book. It makes it a really enjoyable read. I love that they are coming out every couple of weeks. Release day is definitely something to look forward to!
The heat is turned on in this 2nd Episode! I feel like we got a little better understanding of the guys in this part, but they are still withholding information. And the sexy times were scorching. Someone needs to let Wyn know she's not human so she can let go of her societal constraints. I find myself wondering who her dad is. I wonder if he is just as powerful as her mother, just not a God? Maybe we'll find out in episode 3.
This is a serial. It ends in a cliffhanger. I loved it!
Another great addition to this series. Book one captures your attention and book two goes into alittle more detail on the guys and Wyn. And let me tell you, things really heat up literally. The chemistry between them all is scorching. The banter between the guys gives the much liked comedy to the quick paced story. More danger, more bonding, romance, and action, I cannot wait to see what part three brings.
Part 2 and we are seriously getting to the good stuff!
Wyn and her Guardians are still on their quest to get to the gates. Everything that could go wrong does and everything the could burst in to flames combusts (not also in the literal sense though)
Thank you Skye this was an amazingly fantastic addition and I'm desperate for parts 3,4,5,10... preorder today you will definitely not be disappointed!
I do not have words to describe how much I loved Episode 2 of Winter Princess. This serial just keeps getting better. I thought episode one was amazing but Skye MacKinnion has made episode 2 even better.
Episode 2 picks up where episode 1 left off, I don't want to give to much away but this episode is packed full of steamy scenes and adventure. The more I learn about Wyn and her Guardians the more I love them and you will too. Can't wait to see what is installed for episode 3.
Part 2 was even better than the first one!!! The ending to Part 2 left me wondering how soon Part 3 could be released because OMG THAT ENDING!!! Part 2 is packed full of more interaction with the guy (developing their relationship FINALLY hehe), more on the development on her powers, and learning what role the guys now play in the story (OMG YES). I can't wait to get my hands on Part 3 *grabby hands*!
Oh my goodness, this book was crazy steamy! Of course, Wyn is still in danger and someone has tried to kill her again. But Storm, Frost, Arc and Crispin are trying their hardest to keep her safe and get her to the Realm of the Gods and to her mother. But them saving her initially is having some interesting consequences. Knew this was going to be a great series from the very start! Anxious to read the next book!
I am loving the serial and it just keeps on getting better and better. Skye knows what her readers want and gives it to them, though not a lot to overtake the story as a whole, but enough to leave us wanting more. . . and I just want more and more and more. I can't get enough. Especially the sexy scenes. I absolutely cannot wait for number three to see what happens next now that they have reached Calanais.
Book two has just as much excitement and humor as the first one. Still on their journey to her mothers realm they run into more trouble. Not only are people still after her but the boys have been keeping secrets. We are left on more of a cliffhanger on this one but they seem to be coming out regularly so that shouldn't be a problem.
Part two was better than part one. You got to see more of the guy's personality, especially Crispin. I love Arc and this Scottishness. The plot of the story was progressing and the book was very interesting. You got to see more of Wyn's magic and what happens because of it. I'm excited for the next part. It does have a cliffhanger at the end of this part.
Skye MacKinnon is a true master with words. She grips you tight and pulls you into the world she has created. I love this serial but is such a tease lol. She gives you enough to get you going and you turn the page and its over. I truly cannot wait for the next one to come out. I love Wyn and the guys.
It is taking me longer than usual to warm up to the heroine. At least if my heroine is going to be a tad difficult- she has to have it paired with something else. Amazing one liners, sarcasm that cuts, a witty mind something that says hey I have a personality.
Maybe these short installments are making it harder to get to know her......
Wyn and her guardians are on their way to her mother but there seems to be someone who doesn't want her to get there, as she keeps getting attacked. Oh and the boys taking in Wyn's power just causes a really strong attraction apparently.
This series so far is ok. Short, sexy with an interesting world.
I loved this book. This is part 2 in a series. In this installment we learn more about Wyn's guardians and the purpose they serve. We also learn a little more about Wyn's powers. Can't wait for the next one.
This serial just keeps getting better and better! In this installment, Wyn and her guardians really turned up the heat! I love the way the characters are written and developed through the storyline. I can't wait for installment #3!!! Well done Skye!!!
