Eva has two secrets. The second is that she periodically vanishes into thin air.

Usually, Eva's spontaneous disappearances last only a few minutes, but on the day of her high school graduation, she vanished for nearly ten years. For a decade she was invisible and intangible--unable to be felt or seen or heard. She can't imagine a worse torture than standing on the outside looking in.

Now she's back, but it's not enough to be tangible once again. Eva needs to find a way to stop vanishing permanently. Which is why she's facing her ten-year class reunion--and her ex-boyfriend. The clue to stopping her disappearances must be tied to him, intertwined with their past. Unfortunately, approaching him is awkward-level five billion, considering he broke up with her ten years ago.

When Eva starts getting threatening texts from an unknown source, she realizes the reunion has just gotten even more complicated. Especially when she discovers that source has found out about her second, worse secret.

In order to find the key to stop her vanishing, Eva must battle grudge-wielding friends, relentless old crushes, and a classmate with a vendetta against her. And, in the meantime, hope she doesn't vanish again. Because somebody wants her gone for another ten years.

Vanish is a sweet romance with a fantastical twist. It's the perfect blend of Magical Realism and Romance. If you enjoy charmingly quirky characters, a love story that will tug your heartstrings, and an emotionally rich storyline, start reading this book today.

So for this book, I signed up for my first Read It & Reap with a group I recently joined (I think last month but it could have been this month). And I finally found the time to write this review - trust me, I wanted to write this review way earlier than I am because this week at work I was scheduled for overtime every day - even today! But somehow god blessed me because I didn't have to go into work today!

So I woke up, got a cup of coffee, turned on my computer, signed in on GR, and started typing this review. I hope it's a good one but I have no idea when the coffee will actually start to kick in.

Vanish: A Sweet Romance with a Fantastical Twist really had a fantastical twist!! The main character is Eva and boy does she have some major secrets - two, to be exact. One, she can vanish which honestly could be super handy if you are stuck in certain situations you don't want to actually be in. However, I would not like becoming invisible for ten freaking years - like she did. I have no idea how she was so sane after just popping back up. Yeah, no - I'd be curled up in a ball, crying, and probably a bunch of other crazy crap. Or you know.. be super rich from "borrowing" money. WHO KNOWS?! I can't vanish.. or can I?

Then there's the other secret that Eva doesn't like to talk about because it's what she used to do and not what she does now. So Eva didn't know how to deal with all of this vanishing when she was younger, let's say when she was in school (either middle or high school, you choose). So what does one person do to themselves when they don't know how to control whatever they hell are doing? Well, I wouldn't necessarily do what she did because I have never been put into that sort of situation - but I will spoil it for you all. Eva use to be a cutter. She isn't anymore but she still bears her scars.

With knowing all of her secrets, I still really liked her character. She wasn't whiny or unlikable. Yeah, she was still pining over the guy that broke up with her in high school BUT she found someone WAY better than him. I hated her ex-boyfriend. He was so unlikable and a dick. Then this new guy, who was one of her friends in high school, pops up and I was instantaneously in like with his character. Like, not love. WHY? Well, because there was no insta-love crap. Oh, but you do get to meet some pretty petty characters which are for your enjoyment only.

I honestly really liked this book and I'm so happy I signed up to read it. I can't wait to another read it and reaps! Also, I really liked Becca's writing style. I couldn't put my kindle down while I was reading this book. I hope to fall in love with another one of her books!

Vanish by Becca J Campbell is a new book in the world of her Flawed Series. While it takes place in the world of those with special abilities, it has its own set of characters and doesn't follow the same storyline as the other Flawed books.Sso if you haven't read the Flawed series yet, now is a great time to start!

Vanish is the story of a young woman named Eva who has the inconvenient ability to vanish at random times and for varying durations. It follows her trip to her high school reunion where she not only rehashes old feelings, but confronts truths about herself she had hidden for years. It's a little different from her other Flawed stories. It isn't a thriller with a creepy villain lurking in the shadows. Rather, I would call it a paranormal romance/relationship story. Eva is forced to confront her own fears and insecurities so that she can move forward in relationships without her own walls getting in the way. It has a gripping romance that I absolutely fell in love with--I'm definitely a sucker for a good love story!

Vanish is well written, has likable characters with personalities all their own (I especially love Tait’s character), and overall, an enjoyable read that left me smiling. Becca J. Campbell has a way with words and interesting new worlds, and this latest installment does not disappoint!

(I was fortunate to receive a free copy of Vanish in exchange for my honest review)

Eva Coderre has two secrets that are incredibly unbelievable~she can vanish without a trace and a secret cutter. Eva has been gone for ten years with much speculation of what happened to her. Eva's high hopes for her tenth class reunion~reconnecting with her ex-boyfriend Kaden and not vanishing again. Things don't go as planned for Eva someone is blackmailing her with her secrets. Eva finds acceptance with Tait Carson. Will the truth come out? Whose blackmailing Eva? Your answers await you in Vanish.

I really enjoyed this story quite a bit. The characters and story were rich, bold, complex, complicated, mysterious, hopeful, passionate, and unique. For a new to me author, I was surprised at the depth and range of emotion that played out in the story. I look forward to more from this author in the future.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review (Shut Up and Read group).

It's a bit hard for me to review this book, because I couldn't actually relate to the female MC most of the time, although that doesn't mean I didn't like her or the book.
The book was actually good and original. I can't even imagine how disappearing for 10 years would be. Disappearing but being conscious of your surrounding and everything happening around you... without you. Being there but not there. I'd probably go mad.
Eva got back from the vanishing but she was ok. Almost like nothing happened. Except, everyone she knew had grown older and had matured, while she was still young and haven't experienced life fully. Or even matured much past the age in which she had vanished.
So, Eva meets Tait again at the reunion. Sweet and cute Tait. He makes her calmer. He literally tethers her.
I really liked Tait, and thought they were perfect for each other. There was that spark between them, that passion.. and they really cared for each other.
Kaden was a selfish b@stard. An idiot. And an absolute jerk. He was actually repulsive. I couldn't see what Eva liked about him. He was boring, brooding, selfish... and didn't even got balls to tell her the truth when he broke up with her.
Dahlia was a real b@tch. She was evil incarnate. She could shake hands with Kaden, actually. They're made for each other. They're both evil.
So, this was a nice read, and the ending was cute, but I feel like I'd want to know more of Eva and Tait relationship in the future. They were really cute.

Eva isn't like most women. She carries two secrets about herself. She wants to figure out how to put an end to one of her secrets. To do that, she must attend her ten year reunion. Eva will have to deal with many things to stop one of her secrets. Is she strong enough to do that? We will find out.

Becca J. Campbell has the uncanny ability of pulling the reader right into the book. She's a fantastic story teller and her writing is superb. The characters are fully developed and relate-able. This book is one you won't be able to put down until you've finished it. Exciting, a little scary and easy to read, you'll want this one in your TBR pile. You've never read a book like this one.

I didn't find any issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because we all have demons from high school we'd like to get rid of. ~Copy of book provided by author and I voluntarily reviewed it.

The author provided a copy of the ePub in exchange for an honest review.

Vanish by Becca J. Campbell is part of the Flawed Series. Vanish can be read as a stand-alone but the series is truly an original read. This fast-paced read is a well-written page-turner. Eva’s character draws the reader into her world immediately. She disappears without any explanation. After a ten-year absence, she attends her school reunion. As secrets are exposed the story creatively unfolds. The secondary characters add depth as well. Will Eva’s ability to vanish block her happiness? Looking forward to the author’s next book.

Vanish by Becca J. Campbell

Eva is not an ordinary young lady, she vanishes when she gets stressed. After being gone for ten years she goes to her high school reunion. She hopes to see her ex-boyfriend and figure out how to control her vanishing spells. But things get a bit complicated and Eva must have her guard up to avoid her secrets being known.

An original story that moves at a fast pace , with secrets, drama, and some true to life events. Eva is very likable, watching how she handles her life had me by the heart strings. Vanish is more than just a Fantasy story, it touches on some hard to deal with situations. I feel that Young Adult as well as Adult readers will enjoy this as well.

I loved Vanish. Eva is a very relatable character and I immediately was drawn into her world complete with its history and current challenges. Tait is another great character and I was rooting for him to get closer to Eva. This book has all the elements of stories I love... great characters, a plot that keeps me guessing and a wonderful ending.

I received a copy of this book directly from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I have sort of an odd relationship with Vanish by Becca J. Campbell, in that I read it twice, and not because I loved the book so much that I wanted to read it again, but because I read two different version of the ARC, several months apart. Because of this, I have a somewhat screwed view of the story. I remember parts of the book that are no longer in the final copy—some of those bits I liked a lot, others no so much, but I’m going to try to stick mostly to the current version (as I assume, fellow reader, that this is the version you will be reading as well).

Here’s the thing: I went into this book having no knowledge about what it was about. I was given a two line teaser and signed an agreement that I’d read the book within a narrow 3-week period. I didn’t know the genre, the premise of the story… nothing. What I found, was a rather contemporary urban fantasy with some paranormal and romance thrown in. There’s quite a bit that happens in the story before the reader is introduced to the story—and I’m not a huge fan of stories that do that. Because the main character’s friendships, relationships, and initial disappearance (and subsequent 10-year absence) happened before the story started, I felt like I’d missed a huge part of the action and tension in the story. What I was left with, was a short, sweet story that spans about three days in its entirety.

Technically speaking, the book was exceedingly well edited. The narrative flowed well and pulled me into the story from the very beginning. There were no obvious typos or grammatical errors, and the actions and dialogue of most of the characters rang true. I say most, because the antagonist of the book, a former classmate, and ex-girlfriend of the male lead, was a rather lackluster character. For no real obvious reason, she was obsessed with Tait in a very stalker-ish way, even though they hadn’t seen each other in a decade. Her actions in this and other parts of the story came across as terribly contrived and unrealistic. Her motivations and the way she handled the paranormal aspect of the book just made no sense—and worse yet, fell apart easily once the characters began to stand up for themselves. She was like the evil popular girl in any teen TV show, but this wasn’t a teen book. This is an adult romance… which is probably why it sat so poorly with me.

That wasn’t the only issue, though arguably the biggest. There were mentions throughout the book of other special people like Eva, who also had super powers, but most of them were mentioned in passing and never shown. The relationship between Eva and her former boyfriend was forced upon the reader as something it wasn’t, and then immediately switched out for another romance with Tait, that seemed to pop up out of nowhere. There was no tension (sexual or otherwise) throughout the book, and the little bit of a teaser mystery that was tossed into the description turned out to be not that big of a deal.

Originally, I gave this book four stars after reading the initial copy. There were issues for me with the way the book was touted as a standalone, but obviously tied into another series (this seemed to be edited out in the second copy), but overall, I found it a sweet, enjoyable story. Maybe it’s the fact that I read it twice, maybe it was the edits that changed the story to the second version… I’m not sure, but I ended up not liking the story as much the second time around. It was entertaining, and it was sweet, but I felt that it was missing depth and a sense of tension.

I think this book is best geared towards readers who enjoy sweet, contemporary romance with a paranormal theme, and maybe the tiniest bit of drama. It isn’t a story that’s going to draw you in and make you think, but it makes a nice afternoon read if you’re just looking for something fun and romantic to sink into for a few short hours.

This was a very sweet story about a young lady coming to terms with her flaws and learning to accept unconditional love. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was romantic but not overly romantic. It was intimate without being sexually explicit. The story takes place over a long weekend at a 10 year high school reunion and was ripe with jealousies, unspoken desires, and newly discovered feelings.

Oh my what an amazing read for a lazy Sunday. I have to admit I am an avid reader and fan of Becca's books. She is a really amazing writer and every book of hers I have absolutely loved And been enthralled with and this standalone novel is no different. I sat and read it for a few hours and I just adored all the amazing characters and the twists and turns the author added to this novel.

A must read for anyone that loves books with a little supernatural romance.

Eva what a frusterated woman full of secrets. She goes back to her 10th high school reunion to find someone to help her with her special gift that she thought for years has helped her. But fate has other things in mind when she goes to see her ex boyfriend that broke her heart and her old friend that was always there for her. Who is the one who is the cure for her gift? Who will break her heart?

Her ex boyfriend through half the book you think will save her but when you realize he is kind of the bad guy in it and realize who the real hero of the story is you are amazed. The hero oh my lord im trying not to give away spoiler but omgosh I just loved loved loved him. Best character by far.

This story has it all jealousy, betrayal, danger, heartbreak and mystery. Entertaining and very realistic adventure with a believable story-line and highly realistic charters. This wonderfully told story draws you into her world from page one and makes it very difficult to put down till the very end. Found that I had devoured this book in one night.

Eva has secrets and thinks her ten year high school reunion might hold the answers. That is, if she can reconnect with Kaden, her high school boyfriend. But when a former classmate learns Eva's secrets and threatens to make them public Eva has to make a decision that will break her heart or set it free.

I enjoyed this book overall. I think Eva is a sympathetic character. The only problem I had with the story is the ten year vanishing. That just seems a little too long. I would have liked the fact that Eva's bodily functions are suspended during vanishing to be explained a little sooner.

I loved the ending. I love that Eva followed her heart and was brave.

Great story! Class reunions are always about catching up, but for Eva ithas a different meaning as well. She is trying to unravel a personal mystery. Things keep going wrong. Will she find the answers she is looking for or will she find something entirely different? Jealousy, betrayal, and heartbreak are just some of what you will find in this book. I loved it and the cover is perfect.

I couldn't imagine vanishing let alone being unable to touch anything or one, I mean yeah there are times I would love to disappear for a few moments but not completely vanish. Eva goes through a lot of emotional turmoil throughout this whole story and only one person can help her other than herself and it isn't who she feels it is. Becca Campbell draws you into her world and causing you to hold on tight.

Eva is not an ordinary young lady she is dealing with most of the same issues all teens do with the added twist of a major secret she can't for the life of her control. After vanishing for 10 years she returns to her high school looking exactly the same as the day she left... wow. The adventure begins as she is reconnecting with old friends and seeking to have her ex-boyfriend help her figure out how to stop her unwanted vanishing act. Loved every twist and turn in this emotional journey.

This is my first read by Becca J. Campbell, and it’s a great introduction. He latest addition to her Flawed series, is has nothing to do with the previous characters and storylines, and can be read as a standalone novel.

The story it fast paced and fun, but also an awesome metaphor for how we can feel in high school and beyond. On top of that, this also triggered my nostalgia for the good old days when my biggest worry was what to do with my friends after school. Also, I must admit, I’m slightly jealous of Eva’s ability to turn invisible. It would’ve been perfect for those uncomfortable moments I’m sure we’ve all experienced.

The characters were well rounded and enjoyable, and really brought the author’s world to life. They epitomized our fears, strengths, and hopes as Eva tried to get close to her old boyfriend and reunited with her school friends. A great example is Eva’s way of dealing with issues during her school career. She dropped hints throughout the book about her cutting herself, but also her struggle to overcome it. While that in itself was rewarding to me, I really loved when she stood by her mistakes and accepted them for what they were when confronted. I thought it really showed her growth from the beginning of the book and set up an awesome ending, which I have no intention of spoiling. Sorry.

As I mentioned before, this was a great introduction to the series for me, and I look forward to reading the rest.

I was given the opportunity to read an ARC of Vanish. Although I was under no obligation to review the book, this is my honest opinion.

Having the ability to vanish at a moment's notice might be interesting to some, but Eva Coderre wishes for a normal life. After 10 years of being invisible, Eva is hoping that her high school reunion will help her reconnect with the boy who broke her heart. When things do not exactly go according to plan, will Eva be able to stay visible or is she doomed for 10 more years of obscurity?

Although the author captured some of the feeling of being at a high school reunion, I did not think that she took it far enough in some aspects, but too far in others. With the exception of Dahlia, who personifies the aging high school starlet trying to recapture her youth, the rest of the partygoers lacked backstabbing one-upmanship that usually occurs. The author spent so much time rehashing what happens to Eva when she disappears that I found my attention waning. I found Vanish to be an average read, as it was not all that memorable, but was not poorly written. With so many five star ratings already given, I was expecting more than the pages actually contained.

Vanished is a great addition to Becca Campbells Flawed series. Poor Eva has been out of the loop since completely vanishing right after graduating High School. She doesn't reappear until 10 years later.
Alot has happened to her friends since then and they don't know about her secret ability or her other secret. Read it to find out how she overcomes her inconvenient vanishing problem. Easy read!

Wonderful

This book was wonderful. It made me laugh, cry and at times a little angry. It took me back to high school. The story has everything; the girl, the boy in love with the girl and the jerk she thought she was in love with. I loved it.
