Sofia is looking forward to her first Wassailia holiday as a princess. It's sure to be a lot different from the humble holiday she always celebrated with her mother. There will be parties, presents and fancy decorations galore! But then King Roland goes missing on Wassailia morning and everyone is frantic. Can Sofia's animal friends - and a visit from a very special princess - help reunite her family in time to discover the true meaning of Wassailia?

Since Sofia came out she has become a huge character in my house. I am a sucker for anything holiday related as well so this was right up my family's alley. The drawings were just as beautiful as the cartoon always is. It teaches kindness and love ,family and so many other amazing lessons. I am so happy I bought the hardcover version of this book. It will always probably be a staple around the holidays for my family.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as some of the other Sofia books that I have been reading. The pictures are too different from the TV show, and the writing is done a different way, both of which seem to take away from the story. I enjoy the storyline of this book and episode, but the book is not nearly as good as the episode is.
So, I read through this book at the bookstore, because it took me all of 2 minutes to do, I didn't buy it because I was not impressed with the book.
Overall, it is a smaller book than the two previous books (Sofia the First and Sofia the First The Floating Palace), but the artwork is just as nice. The story is very boring, and although it would be absolutely wonderful for a 1 - 3 year old, if i had to re-read it again and again I would want to throw the book out.
I would say this is a book you can skip, however, if you already have the first 2 and your kids LOVE them, you might as well get it to finish of the set.
This is a short children’s story about Sofia’s first holiday as a princess. Enchancia’s holiday closely echoes our Christmas and the story focuses on being with family during the event, rather than the gifts a child can receive. Aurora makes an appearance in this story to help Sofia on her quest, reminding Sofia that help can come from unlikely sources. Both messages are well worth teaching children!
The illustrator is listed as the Disney Storybook Art Team, a collective of the corporation given no names, no faces, and (so it feels) no souls. The story feels like it is derived from a TV episode that I never saw, making it hard for me to pick up the emotional tones from such an abridged version. Very meh overall.
My girl brought this book from her kindergarden's exchange library. I would not have purchased it myself. We read it in Greek language. Ok as a short good night story before sleep. The story sort of stupid. Just because of the messages of giving and family togetherness gave it 2 stars.
Cute holiday storybook for kids. Definitely worth a read for any Princess Sophia fans. I don't know if there's an episode/movie to compare to as I don't keep up with Disney Jr. so I'm just reviewing as if it doesn't-- so please forgive me if it does, and the two don't match. 😅
Cute, nothing special except that we love all things princess at our house right now. I wish it would have been about Christmas or Hanukkah, though instead of some made up holiday.
