Very enjoyable set of stories. What more could you ask for, 3 full length very entertaining Mac McRyan mystery's in one box set. Even though the books are part of an ongoing series each can be listened to as a standalone.
Fair warning - this series is addicting.
Each one is well written and has a great storyline that keeps you guessing. While each story is different they are all have one thing in common, they pull you in immediately and never let go. Each is also packed full of mystery, intrigue and suspense. From serial killers to political intrigue to greed to betrayal and secrets there are plenty of unexpected twists and surprises that keep you on the edge of your seat and constantly guessing about what will happen next.
Johnny Peppers did a really good job with the narration. He is the perfect narrator for this series. Nice voice that is easy to listen to for long periods of time. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Good character voices. There is not really much difference between a lot of his male character voices but it is enough to distinguish most of the characters. With just a slight change in tone the female characters voices are good and easily recognizable. He is able to bring the characters and story to life through his narration. Very enjoyable

I absolutely love this series which I am reading in sequence. While this is not essential, I would recommend it to fully capture the essence of the cases and characters. Each story hits a relevant topic. Books 4-6 address political / election corruption, revenge, media, fracking and related environmental issues. One of my favorite quotes from “Electing for Murder” is the idea of finding common ground for the good of the country vs the ends always justify the means, ie winning at any cost. How relevant is this to the Trump doctrine we are being subjected to!
“Fatally Bound” deals with a murder coverup for political expediency and the resultant emergence of the Grim Reaper who wants revenge. “Blood Silence” deals with environmental issues, greed and forgiveness.
In each case McRyan teams up with others to bring resolution to the crime victims while taking us on a tension filled roller coaster ride. The author, for the most part, highlights what is best in law enforcement who work together to provide closure to a case. McRyan is relentless in his pursuit of justice while never losing his innate goodness. He’s not a saint by any means. Just a flawed human trying his best to make the world a safer place.
I can’t wait for the next in this series which, despite numerous typos, is well written, suspenseful and real.
I had never read the series before but found all three books wonderfully enjoyable and well written. The detective work is solid and the chase scenes largely believable. Mr. Stelljes does a very good job of including the clues subtly within the flow of the text, rather than making them up in retrospect. The main character, Mac, is very likable and charmingly Renaissance. Fortunately, the love interest doesn't overwhelm the stories and his fidelity adds to his charm. He's also flawed and growing, which is nice to see in a character. Three books in this series is likely enough, but they are well worth reading. Not an equal to the Preston/Child early Pendergast character, but a very good second.
What a treat! THREE topical, timely thrillers brought to life with the narration of Johnny Peppers adding immediacy. Each of these is complete within itself (standalone) but, enjoyed in rapid succession, one can enjoy the larger character arc as we move from a presidential election to a crime spree to a geological expose with hero Mac McRyan front and center in each. Think "Die Hard" without the skyscrapers.

Roger Stelljes is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. His writing style is amazing, realistic and very descriptive. I can see the fast-paced action in my mind as I am reading because of his writing style. I have not read all of the books with Mac McRyan as the main character. I will be reading those books by the end of this year. I highly recommend these books.
I have now read four books in the McRyan series and each one is a winner. I enjoy the fast pace of the stories. The characters are involved and can keep you guessing. The only thing I didn’t like was when a book was finished and I had to wait until I could find the next one to read These books are fast page turners that will keep you reading long into the night, so plan on it!
Excellent books the story is about current events. I enjoy the same people
In each book . There is witty comments made which make you laugh. A lot of action and suspense followed by surprise endings. I am a follower of Mac and his erase board. I like Sally and Wire plus Lich. Once you start reading you can not put it down.
These three stories give an insight into what investigators do to solve complicated crimes. It is interesting to see how crimes in different jurisdictions can become intertwined. Mac and his associates work as a team to solve the crimes. Couldn’t put it down.
I am a new convert to the author and I am hooked. I will do detailed reviews of each book under its own listing. All you need to know is I read all three books back to back in record time. The layers of mystery upon mystery kept me from putting it down.
Blood Silence: Awesome read. Almost towards the end I figured out who the boss of the whole operation was. Actually I kind of knew once Mac described him. Over all this was a very good read. I enjoyed every word of it.
This is my first time in reading Roger Stelljes & the Mac McRyan series. I am now definitely a fan. Would like to go back & start at the beginning of the series. Plenty of action and fast moving & lots of suspense. Great reading.
Very interesting , thought out, thrilling stories. I love the characters and storyline. I found each story had some interesting history or information that not only helped the storyline but fulfilled my belief, "you learn something every day."
Roger Stelljes is a new author for me-a a good one1
I only recently discovered this author, based in the Twin Cities, and while the first book is a bit light weight, all the books since have improved and Im really enjoying them. I plan to read all of them!
Extremely well written with believable characters. Fast paced and I found myself not wanting each book t o end. To me that is the hallmark of a well written book.
Good writing, great plots and characters. Particularly interesting if you like politics, Washington, and some of the intrigue and backroom stuff that likely happens. The stories are believable and well crafted. There is a bit of romance, some interesting relationships, and 3 quite different story lines in books 406 although each one stands alone but are better read together. Will have to get the first three of the series.
