This second box set collects volumes 7-12 of the main Sailor Moon series. Like the first box set, this box set will also contain stickers of the 6 Sailor Scouts that are on the covers of each individual volume. Get ready for the exciting conclusion to this classic series!
Naoko Takeuchi (武内直子) born March 15, 1967, a manga artist (mangaka), lives in Tokyo, Japan. Takeuchi's works have a wide following among anime/manga fans. She has become a well-known mangaka worldwide. Her most popular work, Sailor Moon, rose to become one of the most recognized manga/anime figures to date.
Takeuchi is married to Yoshihiro Togashi, the author of the YuYu Hakusho series and Hunter × Hunter series.
Please note that anime related books are listed under Kōdansha.
Might I suggest Shoujo Giraffe Syndrome as a counterpart to Yaoi Hands, in which the necks and limbs of the shoujos in question are disproportionately long and spindly? Sailor Moon is rife with SGS, not to mention the messed up anatomy of the alicorn that shows up, but that's not to say the art isn't still gorgeous in an ethereal, idealized way.
I adored how each of the main Sailor Scouts have such different dreams, not all involving finding love, and how we get to see them struggling and sacrificing (for) those dreams while balancing their duty and loyalty to Sailor Moon. For that same reason, I'm frustrated by the sudden and lackluster series ending centering around Usagi and Mamoru's wedding. At least one more chapter, if not a full volume, was needed to round everything off, and there were so many characters and concepts, like the Star Lights, that deserved greater explanation within the text. And what and how is Sailor Cosmos??
I'm still glad I FINALLY got around to reading this set so that I would know the canon ending (I first saw the anime when I was in elementary school), and I do love how Takeuchi plays with gender and sexuality, as well as how she incorporates mythology.

I absolutely Love the Sailor Moon manga series! : ) so good! : ) so much more explained in regard to the characters, plot, and story as the manga is the original sailor moon story, so I highly recommend reading it if you have seen the anime or if you haven't, as the manga is the best place to start for those new to Sailor Moon : ) its such an awesome and amazing manga series, there is comedy, romance, action, adventure, great character development, and a strong plot and Usagi is such a fun, lovable and relatable character as she is like most teenagers in many ways, except that she fights evil enemies as a Sailor guardian, Sailor Moon : ) she finds many friends and allies along the journey too : ) Sailor Moon is by far, my all-time favorite manga and anime series, Love it, so good! : ) if you watch or want to watch the new anime, Sailor Moon Crystal - I definitely recommend reading the manga series first as it follows the manga chapter by chapter, so it makes much more sense if you are familiar with the manga series : ) though I do recommend also watching both the Sailor Moon Crystal series and the original as both have some really good episodes and are important to the overall story and plot, some good, even comedic filler episodes in the original too : ) if you are in the u.s. you can watch both Sailor Moon series online at Hulu.com/sailor-moon & neonalley.com/sailor-moon and hulu.com/sailor-moon-crystal & neonalley.com/sailor-moon-crystal or Sailor Moon Crystal on crunchyroll.com/sailor-moon-crystal (if you are in the u.s., or canada )
During my childhood, I think I remember that the TW Chinese version of the manga carried 18 volumes. This set was released in 2011, and there are 12 instead of 18. See wiki for specifics.
This is my first time owning the manga, and also my first time reading the manga. Purchased it at 50% off at a book store closing sale. I cannot compare this to the original 18 volumes as I've never read them. The artwork is beautiful, as expected. I also really enjoyed the translation notes. Speaking of translation, yes, there are some parts where the translation seemed at odds with the subtitled version of anime Sailor Moon. That's a known oddity with the Kodansha publication of Sailor Moon.
This is a great ending to the series. The outer senshi come and the original Sailor Scouts are starting to grow and mature. The story line gets a lot darker and a bit more convoluted and it's definitely more adult friendly than the first half of the series was. I liked seeing just how far Sailor Moon and the rest of her friends had come by the end of the series. They all became stronger and their relationships only strengthened instead of weakened and it's just so pro-female that it's hard to hate.
