In the latest from the author of Always the Bridesmaid, Cate and Ethan are happily married at last-but it looks like the honeymoon is over.
Cate Padgett is no longer a permanent bridesmaid. Having found a love of her own with Ethan, she's enjoying newlywed bliss. Life is so much calmer now that the wedding mayhem has subsided. Just one problem: as the last of their friends to marry, Cate and Ethan are now the only ones who don't have a kid, aren't expecting a kid, and aren't even trying. There's not even a bump on the horizon. They were just cozying up to being a twosome, and now there's pressure to make it three. Those carefree bridesmaid days are starting to look good.
Whitney Lyles was twenty-six when she landed her first book deal for Always the Bridesmaid.
She’s now the proud author of a novella and five novels, including her latest romantic comedy for teens -- Party Games. She lives in San Diego with her husband and daughter. She is currently working on her next book.
Even though this author's books are pretty simple, they are entertaining. She creates good characters. They are a little bit of goody goodies, but oh well. I read the other books she wrote containing this main character (Always The Bridesmaid, Here Comes The Bride), so I kind of wanted to read the third installment. In this book, Cate and her hubby are newlyweds and are feeling the pressure to have a child. Seems like all their friends are having children. I can understand that. All my friends are getting married, and its not much fun to be one of the few who are still single. So, Cate and her hubby get pregnant and it follows the ups and downs of being prego. She gets sick non stop for about 3 months. On top of all that, their cousin Denise who is just a great big pain in the butt is getting married and thinks that Cate got pregnant around the same time just so she could still her thunder. She and her trashy boyfriend are annoying and really make you hope that people like them don't really exists. But they do. It was a good book, and probably a good one for anyone who is expecting or has children.
Another great book in the series, probably my favorite. I'm sad the series is over. I gave this book five stars.
I have absolutely loved this series, and I was excited to read the last book. It was my favorite, which is saying a lot because I couldn't put any of the books in the series down. I loved growing with Cate, from her single 'always the bridesmaid' days, to a bride, to a wife, and now to a mother. It's rare to find a series that lets you watch the character grow so much, I became very attached and it helped me connect emotionally to this story. I was so happy her and Ethan were able to start their own family.
Overall, this book was great and I recommenced this book to anyone who loved the previous books or who is expecting a baby or has a baby.
This book was not at all bad. Does have some language in it, other than that...pretty good. I love Cate and Ethan! They're such a cool couple! Some of the things I read made me laugh out loud! I would definitely check out another book by this author, most definitely! I do recommend reading "Always a Bridesmaid" first, I made that mistake and read this one first. I had no idea it was book 3. It was good, regardless.
The sequel to "Here comes the bride" (Which I thought was a fun beach read). The sequel however is purely formulaic with nothing original in it, and not worth the read, not even on an airplane.
This was probably my favorite of the three books in the series. Again, I never felt completely invested in the main character, Cate, but I find the supporting characters entertaining and there were some interesting developments. Overall, the plot wasn't completely predictable and it was perfect for plane reading.
I'm not going to give this a rating since the reason I stopped reading had nothing to do with the writing, which was smooth and engaging, and everything to do with me: I'm tired of reading "babylits" or "mommy-wannabe lits," which I didn't think this book was although it ended up being just that.
It's time for the baby! Does a great job in describing the emotions that go along with pregnancy as well as the feelings when you first look at your new baby. Of course there are some funny moments as well.
I liked the realistic pressures from married life and trying to get pregnant. I especially liked how Cate and Ethan were a strong couple that were each others best friend. I laughed when reading how they had to deal with family realationships. We've all been there
This is the first book I have read by this author. It was completely unoriginal. However, I liked the main character and I liked the author's writing style. I would be willing to read another of this author's books.
This book was one of the best of all the books that I have read in my life! I have not read the first or the second of this series, but even though I didn't I do not regret it! I recommend First Comes Love to all the people who are looking for a romantic book!
ok Whitney Lyles, I hope you aren't finished with Cate and Ethan. i don't know about other readers but i would love to read more about them. The challengea of raising a baby along with dealing with Grease and Oscar would be fun reading. So please continue.
This one has to be my favorite out of the series! I felt like it wrapped everything up not only with Cate and Ethan, but with all of her friends and family as well.
This book was the best out of the three. I might be biased as I read this right after I had my son, so I really related to the pregnancy emotions! Will try more books from this author.
