She might be small, but she can still kick his ass.
An assignment to babysit a rich dude isn’t Kacy’s idea of a fun assignment. Especially since he and his bodyguard are just like all the other boys she knows, thinking she’s too tiny to pack a punch.
I’ll show him.
She’ll show him that sexy things come in small packages and he won’t be able to stop himself from falling for the pint-sized protector. Problem is, who’ll protect his heart?
When a gunman threatens her life, he wants to send her away, but her Latina pride won’t allow her to be treated like anything less than a pro. Will pride also stand in the way of her happiness?
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
Not children! A female bodyguard that has been deemed small in stature by the opposing male bodyguard. I put this book off for awhile because I expected something to do with children. Should have look closer at the cover or even read the blurb. My fault.
This is a series on assassins. Not the usual lighthearted writing from this author but still plenty of sarcasm, strong female leads and protective men falling in love even if they think they aren’t ready. Love conquers all.
Brash, entertaining and yes, a bit bloody in a superficial way, this series is worth the read. And as usual, the epilogue leads you to wanting to immediately proceed to the next in the series.
The Bad Boys Inc.: Specialists In International Realty (BBISIIR) newest client requires a stealth undercover operative bodyguard who can fit the guise of girlfriend.
Kacy, BBISIIR's sole Latino female agent, is forced to 'babysit' a millionaire who has a hit out on him though no one knows who or why the actual contract was issued on the deep web. It will be her job to play a femme fatale role while protecting Darren Thorne. Would be an easy assignment if only Darren would take his personal safety seriously.
Marcus, Darren's long time bodyguard, feels that the security operative hired is nothing more than a pretty face in a sexy package. He makes it known that he's in charge and will handle the security details necessary to safeguard his boss as it's a man's world and little girls like her shouldn't worry their pretty little heads over complicated issues.
Karma's a bitch when Kacy schools Marcus on her first day on the job. It's bodyguard 101 that looks can be deceiving and not to assume anything which Marcus failed to anticipate in his role. Thankfully she's more than capable of safeguarding Darren and the apparently incompetent bodyguard Marcus.
The real test will be when the assassination attempts get more brazen requiring Kacy and Marcus to work together to keep Darren safe.

2nd in the Bad Boys Inc. series that can be read as a stand alone.
I was really excited over this story as the author teased at Kacy's character in the previous installment in such a way that I couldn't wait to get my grubby little hands on it. It's not often that an author features a truly strong female badass lead character who can play on the same playing field as the males. Bravo and thank you Ms. Langlais for keeping it real. :)
I really loved this story and didn't want it to end because the relationship dynamics and action-adventure-mystery-suspense had me on the edge of my seat from cover to cover. Of course the adult content romance scenes were pretty toe curling and complimented the story line but for any potential readers, be prepared to play ping pong trying to figure out if the relationship is m-f, m-m-f, m-f-m before it becomes obvious. Not often an author has me second guessing so I'm totally appreciative the author was able to keep me guessing for as along as she did.
Regarding the action-adventure-mystery-suspense aspects of this story. The previous installment Assassin Next Door was problematic in that Calvin didn't fit my idea of an assassin character. Happy and over the moon that Kacy changed things where I could believe she WAS an assassin/mercenary. She was good and it was reflected in the author's obvious research in secret agent technology and behaviors. Way to go ladies.
The issues I had with this story have to do with the climatic big mystery-suspense reveal. Portions of this didn't make sense but that could have been because of a rushed quick style wrap up or just my sadness that this story was coming to an end and didn't really absorb that portion of the story. Will other readers figure out the who done it solution before the author shares that info? Guess you'd have to read the story to see if you're in the majority or minority. Me? I plead the fifth.
The story ends with a teaser for a future installment. That's all I'll say as to share anything more would be spoiler info.
Excellent book for those who look for contemporary antihero romantic suspense themed reads that feature a kick ass strong female lead.
Kacy is a frisky one, “you know what would make me happy? Carving off your testicles.” Marcus doesn't have an ego, nope not him, "a brash man, Marcus boasted, “Of course I will. How hard can it be? It’s got a motor. I’m a man. It should come naturally.” I seroously enjoyed this book, I loved how feisty kacy was.
This author always interweaves sex and plot very well, and this story has both in spades. I really liked the feisty assassin and the meathead. I didn't like their client, who was an ass throughout the story, but he was the maguffin. The sex scenes were creative, but I would have enjoyed one more classic pose.
This is a good series if you like sexy thrillers. There is an underlying thread that carries through the books.
Meh, this one didn't do anything for me. Kacy supposedly hates Latina stereotyping, yet she's certainly portrayed as a fiery (as in ill-tempered, sometimes rude) woman.
(1.5/5) This was frustrating to read. The first book in the series was fun. It wasn’t groundbreaking, but it was pure unadulterated fun. This book, though? I’m not going to concentrate too much on plot/characters because I feel like other reviews touch those topics pretty well. (I will add that I feel like the story dragged too much and only gets interesting in the last 15-20%) What I want to point out here is the harmful stereotypes used in this story. I’m not sure if the author used sensitivity readers for the Mexican American/Latinx representation, but it needed one REALLY BADLY. This story attempts to present the protagonist as this fierce, spicy killing machine that comes from a rough background. She’s supposed to be brilliant, lethal and great at her job, but we rarely see that. Yes, we see it in the beginning. But only far enough that we’ve established she’s feisty and can show the big, strong man that she’s capable of doing shit. (You can use Google to see people explain why the feisty/fierce/spicy stereotype is so harmful; there are many people writing about that better than I could). Once we’ve established this, the rest of the story will rely simply on stereotypes to keep her character pushing on. There are too many instances in which the phrase “I’m a Latina from the wrong side” is used and, after a while, it starts feeling a little xenophobic (I’m Mexican, I’m from the wrong side of the border; I’m Latina, I’m from the wrong side). What could’ve been a great opportunity to explore how these things are uphold in certain spaces and discuss how it would impact her life turns into almost a caricature of real racism & xenophobia Latinx & Brown folks suffer in America. Another thing that bothered me while reading was the constant use of “because I’m a Latina” (or similar phrases) and the way the protagonist calls men “hombres” all the time. My main issue with the former is that the “I’m Latina” instances were usually used to reinforce the idea of her being feisty or poor. In the case of the latter, it just feels like the author picked a specific word, translated it in Google Translate and then said “ok, this is it! Using this word constantly will be the way I remind people that we’re dealing with a spicy Latina instead of a mayonnaise white woman”. Other things I had issues with (in terms of rep): 1. Of course, OF COURSE, we’re going to give her drug-dealing brothers. 2. They lean so hard on the “fierce Latina” stereotype that they create this unbelievably rude and unlikeable character. 3. They attempt to make her “rebel” against the stereotypes and ideas people have about Latinas, but in the process they make her into those exact harmful stereotypes.
I don’t know. Maybe I’ll edit this review later so it makes a little more sense, but it’s uncomfortable to me how almost no other review mentions the blatant stereotyping and exotification of Latina women
Small and fierce, Kacy is hired to work as extra protection and the new girlfriend. Except when she turns up to her date with her new boss the current body guard is over confident and underestimates her and oh so good to look at.
I seriously loved these two. Kacys acerbic tongue made for some interesting developments between her and Marcus. These two had me snickering with their playful nit picking and wincing with every chance they got to butt heads in the beginning. There was also plenty of action and butt kicking going on throughout the book. Secrets and tension kept the whole thing interesting. Bloodshed, bombings, attempted murders, fight scenes, I mean what more could you want from this book. The second book Eve Langlais new Bad Boy Inc series doesn’t disappoint and has definitely left me craving more.
I usually like Eve Langlais fastpaced and actionpacked stories, but this one doesn't really get off the ground. I don't know if it was meant as a mystery story, because there's little else of a story in there - except for the relationship between Marcus and Kacy. There usually is when it comes to Eve's stories. The main characters are well written and fleshed out well and there's plenty of sexual play between them, to the point it think it becomes too much of the good stuff - as there's little else. I'm not buying into the Darren character as his actions are too stupid for a man of his position. Had the next book been about Darren I wouldn't have picked it up, but now I'll give it a try as I liked the first book in the series.
Kacy is used to being underestimated. She's a five foot, curvy Latino woman who also happens to be an assassin and protector for Bad Boy Inc. Harry the boss cajoles her into taking a job as a fake new girlfriend to his friend Darren so she can be his up close bodyguard. The minute his current massive bodyguard Marcus sees her, he taunts and teases calling her "little pint'. But what starts as annoying each other, soon turns into banter then something more. Off to a tropical island they have to find out who is out to kill Darren, but they still find time to spar, play and kiss. There's a great deal of chemistry between them, ongoing danger, secrets and humour. It's kind of like Bond but done with a light fun touch, much less sexism. And there's still plenty of action. Great fun.
Loved Kacy's and Marcus and their boss Darren. Kacy's is sent by Harry to help his good friend Darren with an assassin problem. Her roll, girl friend to a billionaire. So not the kind of assignment tom boy, kickass Kacy likes. Then she meets Darren and his body guard Marcus. Marcus can't believe his bosses friend sent a a punt sized women to protect his boss. Darren isn't worried he knows Academy trained. Marcus's ego take a hit when he realizes his army training pales in comparison to Kacy's academy training. Marcus and Kacy's butt head from the get go, much to Darren's amusement. Darren isn't what Kacy's expected. He has tie's to the Academy, and isn't exactly helpless. A contract on his head. Betrayal, snipers, exploding cars and an invitation to a meeting of like minded people that is likely a trap, Kacy has her work cut out for her, keeping Harry's friend out of trouble and not falling for his meathead body guard. Loved Kacy and Marcus. A fun, funny, fast paced and steamy story. Can't with for Darren and Francesca's.
Kacy was assigned to guard the rich and famous Darren Thorne. His full-time bodyguard who like the rest of the men she met assumed that because she was petite and a woman. She couldn't handle the job.
"He didn't know how wrong he was."
Darren Thorne had made a lot of enemies. There were many of them who wanted him and his family to fail. Apart from being a businessman, he had a secret life as part owner of an academy of elite specialists (assassins, hackers and thieves).
When someone tried to kill him, he and his bodyguard/friend, Marcus Rutledge took care of the threat. In need of a female operative to pose as his girlfriend. Darren turned to the Bad Boy firm for help.
Marcus didn't like the fact that Darren git outside help but he understood why he did it. Meeting Kacy knocked him on his butt. The woman annoyed him in a delicious and tempting way.
She was there not only to protect his boss but to help him as well. When Kacy found herself in the killer's sight, Darren wanted her to think about her own safety.
But she didn't waver as both her and Marcus promised to keep protecting Darren and each other... Loves how the change in their relationship tilted their world.
PINT-SIZED PROTECTOR is the second book in Eve Langlais' BAD BOYS INC series. It was action-packed, intriguing and oh so irresistible. Two thumbs up and a recommendation to get this book.
Bad Boy Inc is back! Pint-Sized Protector more than lives up to the first book in the series (Assassin Next Door) with action, romance, and surprises.
Kacy is a feisty shorter woman – but don’t tell her that or she’ll cut you off at the knees. She has an assignment to guard Darren - a hot, secretive billionaire - by posing as his girlfriend. He’s already got a bodyguard who is hotness on two legs, but she can certainly teach him a few tricks! Can she do her job without falling for the big meathead? She’s supposed to be Darren’s girlfriend – she really shouldn’t be drooling over his bodyguard. And what is Marcus to do with his little pint, who has a gallon of attitude to spare?
Pint-Sized is a self-contained, thrilling story that will suck you in until the very end. It has more twists and turns than you can shake a stick at, and you’ll sit back with your mouth hanging open when done. Just when you think the story is winding down, you find it winding back up, all the way to the explosive finish.
Eve Langlais has really outdone herself with this action-packed, exciting series, but especially this book. The bar is set even higher now…
The mighty can fall. And Madrid sure did fall for Kacy. She might be small but you know what they say....good things come in small packages. He never believed she was good at her job better yet he was missed Darren hired another person to come in to protect him when he's been doing a damn pretty good bang up job. Macy didn't wanna go play some rich guy girlfriend to protect them. She didn't know what was in store for her. She got more than she bargain for. This story has more action and twist you couldn't or you better not think about skipping pages... Oh she has her version of her Marilyn Monroe skirt moment. She is a kickass ninja squirrel...Marcus and Macy have this love hate relationship between them and they make a dynamite team protecting Darren but can they finally succumb to the attraction they have for each other? Will they find out everything to assassinate their boss? Will we get a love connection? Will we get a can of whoopazz?
Fast paced. Lots of action, funny banter, a sexy client who is not the love interest, a sexy bodyguard who is, a pint sized assassin/bodyguard who knows how to put a man in his place. What's not to love? This book took so many twists and turns it made me dizzy trying to figure out who was behind it all. In the end, I'm still not sure exactly who was really responsible. Loved the set-up for Darren's book, but it's not even next! Way to get me to read the full series, Eve! I'm enjoying this series way more than I thought I would. Kind of sorry I waited so long to read it. Solid 4 stars. Dropped one because it did get a bit convoluted at times, but it was still a fun story to read. Great mix of drama and comic relief.
Exciting, witty, and completely addictive, Casey is an aggressively fun-to-read heroine, every scene is a building block to this addictive story, with her as the character that drives the scenes. The witty banter also is fun to read as well. The characters have good chemistry, and she and Marcus make a great team, even though neither of them is looking for anything, and both of them don't appreciate the other at first. The story builds to a cascading ending that rivals any action movie made in the last ten years. I've been listening to the series on my way to and from work, and I'm definitely going to continue through it.
Miss Langlais has a warped sence of HAHA and away of telling a story. I stopped reading two other books the day this one was delivered to me. How could I not, they say good things come in small packages and packs a punch. I have to agree totally Half pint and Meathead had my attention from the get go. A pocket sized Latina out to prove she packs a big punch and an ex Army guy out to save and protect his best friend and boss even if it kills him I love action adventure and I love it when things blow up add a little romance and you have the perfect book.
I don't often give 5 stars but this story deserves them. I just loved this book and the characters in it. I just loved the banter between Kacy (little pint) and Marcus (meathead). These two were made for each other and the storyline just would not let me put this book down. I have a headache this morning from staying up to read till the end. Kacy is pretending to be Darren’s flaky girlfriend so she can protect him up close but it is his bodyguard Marcus who makes her tingle. Cannot wait for the next two books in this series. Book four will be Darren Thorn’s story.
PINT-SIZED PROTECTOR by Eve Langlais, Bad Boy Inc., Book 2
Out of all the Bad Boy Inc. books, PINT-SIZED PROTECTOR is the funniest. Mason’s snotty remarks and Kacy’s sassy comeback get me laughing. If they can’t stand each other, why they have the hots for one another? Flirting dialogues, names calling, assassination attempts coming in all sizes and shapes . . . One never knows what comes next.
Love a good bodyguard love story! Also, getting an enemies to lovers means all the extra spice and passion. Little twist though, the two bodyguards are the ones falling for each other. Kacey and Marcus can’t help but spark off each other from the very start, making them falling for each other all the more exciting. Lots of action, lots of intrigue, lots of fun banter, and even more questions on our bigger issue 😊
This is book 2 in the Bad Boys Inc series and is a stand alone book with an awesome HEA. I recommend this book to all lovers of romantic comedy with a little suspense thrown in. Could not put this book down, even at 1am I was still so into the book, sleeping was not on my list. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Happy Reading.
Pint-Sized Protector is laugh out loud excitement. The author does a wonderful job of mixing romantic suspense and humor. Kacy is kick ass and underestimated because she comes in a pint size package but her heart is as big as Marcus’s biceps. I am so looking forward to more in this series. This may be the second in the Bad Boy Inc. series but can be read standalone.
I found this one a bit boring at times. It moved, just slowly at a lot of points, and I found myself not really caring about the why's and who's. It also didn't really answer most of those questions. Meh pretty much sums this up. And does it make me crazy shallow that I didn't care for either of the cover models for this story?
Size truly doesn't matter to Kacy she will take you down. Marcus thinks being big makes him the baddest bodyguard out there. He meets his match with Kacy. When these two work together everyone better watch out.
I loved it! It was a head turning (not mine) laugh out loud story. The kind of story that you really enjoy, because it has everything. to make an enjoyable read. A heroine with a chip on her diminutive shoulder, a larger than large hero with a snarky attitude.. and she's just the one to match that snark and run circles around him. This is a great read, you'll enjoy it.
You can't always judge a book by its cover and Kacy proves it. She may be pint-sized but she has all the training that Bad Boys Inc. could teach her. Now to prove it to her client and his bodyguard Marcus. Funny, exciting and sexy. Well written and fabulous to read.
I liked this one a lot. But I hate when men think women can't do anything just because she's a woman or because she's short. Heroine was sassy, strong and a feisty Latina, for being someone so short and for being a woman she took down the hero the hard way! And I loved her for it.
~Safe. ~Loved the heroine. ~Arrogant cocky a$$ole.
