Our beliefs are a very powerful influence on our behavior. It is widely understood that if someone really believes he/she can do something, he/she will do it; but if he/she believes something is impossible, no amount of effort will convince him/her that it can be accomplished. Our beliefs about ourselves and what is possible greatly affected our day to day effectiveness. All of us have beliefs that serve as resources as well as beliefs effectiveness. All of us have beliefs that serve as resources as well as beliefs that limit us. Many of our beliefs were instilled in us as children by parents, teachers, social upbringing, and the media before we were aware of their impact or able to have a choice about them. Is it possible to restructure, unlearn, or change old beliefs? If so, how do we do it? This book is a result of the author's own exploration of the underlying processes that influence beliefs, using the tools of NLP.

This book is amazing! It is by no means a conceptually dense or a grammatically deep book; it is definitely an easy read. Yet, even though it says things simply and in a straight-forward manner, the implications of the statements it makes make the imagination run wild! The stories and techniques allows one to open up and discover their minds without requiring one to strain their focus that typically comes when exploring the deep and subtle parts of themselves. Now, I'm all about deep introspection, and I actually best enjoy a dense and philosophical read, but after reading this effortless book I really don't feel like I missed out on anything. It's like taking the elevator up the mountain of self-discovery; if all you want is the view at the top, this book is for you... if you also want to experience the climb after that, you really will not have gained anything less by reading this book.
Excellent book that provides a useful insight on several of the PNL techniques applied by the author. The way he addresses the several beliefs level is very useful for PNL practitioners in treating and managing clients' believes
I had a hard time engaging with this book. I also found it challenging to follow the author's train of thought or logic. I kept hoping for more research but got the feeling it was all anecdotal and a personal account. Strange that it's a highly recommended reference book.
When someone says that certain thing is a belief and not a fact, you know that you are hearing wise words. From my point of view, there is nothing like truth to remove falsehood, but there are times in which beliefs are so integrated into the personality that removing such illusions means a threat to the person itself. "Surrender me, surrender this thought and you will die", that's what feels like sometimes. So, any tool to grow is welcome.
