A family gets ready for Halloween by preparing costumes, making goodies for the school party, and carving jack-o'-lanterns. Halloween jokes and rhymes are interspersed throughout the text.
This is more of a chronicle of events that occur on Halloween in a family. Lots of jokes are told and it's a bit difficult to read this book aloud. It's almost in a graphic novel format and could be read easily by a beginning reader, although some of the jokes might not make too much sense. We enjoyed reading this book together.
Read this with my preschooler. the story is ok, and lots of punny jokes scattered through the pictures. I gave up on reading all the jokes to him he didnt quite understand but I bet my older boys would enjoy the jokes. the art was cute and busy in muted fall colors.
