Within the barrier, Yue is up against an unexpected foe in his attempt to rescue Tougo-his dear friend Kurogitsune. To force Yue's hand in taking a Meal and saving himself, Kurogitsune casts Tougo into the camellia pond. But upon rushing after the helpless captive, Yue is confronted by the age-old conflict between the desire to protect and the desire to consume that befalls all humans who assume the role of yorishiro. What path will Yue choose?
So in reality this was the final volume of the series. All in all I am really quite satisfied with the ending. It was left a little open-ended and yet it concludes the overall story. Still, I really don't think I'll be recommending this as one of the top manga I read because it took too long to stop meandering and being confusing. I am glad I finished it though once I had committed to the story and was satisfied with the ending. I do believe it would be better as an anime.
It is time for Yue to decide if he will take the meal or not. The past and Yue's origins are finally revealed.
This volume marked the end of the story, and I felt like it was a pretty satisfying ending. There is still one more volume of bonus material left to read, so I am looking forward to that.
