Captain Megan Simmons is two days shy of completing her active duty as an IC officer before returning to civilian life. Time enough to complete one last critical mission to procure a Hive core communication Nexus unit which would be a game changer for the Coalition Fleet.

While her future should be something to look forward to, Megan has nothing and no one to return to. Hearing about the Interstellar Bride Program, Megan agrees to be matched to an alien but won't finalize things until her mission is complete so if she doesn't survive, no harm no foul.

Warrior Nyko, Altan Warlord and his unit are providing support for a Coalition battle group battling the Hive on Latiri when the call is made to withdraw forces to regroup. Hearing a lone humanoid cry Nyko breaks from his unit to rescue whoever is in danger of being captured by the Hive. Saving Megan in the nick of time, the couple need to hide out until being able to be extracted. Problem is Nyko is showing all the classic signs of Mating Fever with Megan the only female available.

This is the 10th installment in the Interstellar Bride series. An adult content SciFi romance series.

This story features Megan & Nyko, two military soldiers who are trapped behind enemy lines only to have Nyko go into a crisis when his beast emerges in full blowing Mating Fever. Unless calmed, Nyko could succumb to his beast requiring immediate termination. Megan has a choice to make. Soothe the beast or stay loyal to a mate she's been matched to but hasn't yet met.

The overall story line is pretty straight forward and minimally more than a romance supported by a few suspense and ancillary variables. There is an ongoing series plot that provides a few tidbits to build off the ongoing war with the Hive but will only make sense to those who have read previous installments. As this book can be read as a stand alone, new readers to the series won't have that prior info but will still be able to get the general gist of things regardless.

The adult content was low intensity graphic intimacy. Personally, these scenes were more a case of insert tab a into tab b and flap x into flap z while making sure to align with edge s. Totally would have appreciated these scenes more if they had been fleshed out more and if I hadn't been questioning anatomical and inter species compatibility (vague non spoiler reference) issues.

Also of note. I'm not a fan of characters that experience a drastic personality change after having their first bit "O" together. Warriors and soldiers have a certain mindset and personality that results from being in the environment they're in. Finding one's soul mate strengthens that person as they found that special someone who completes and loves them for who and what they are. Not embracing that concept does a disservice to the character(s).

I also found the world building problematic. Details need to be consistent and make sense for me to be on board. Hypothetical example, a home has 18 bedroom. That would be a pretty big home and I'd assume require ancillary servants. I'd also think multi-storied. Saying that, if the main characters were in an upstairs master bedroom doing the nasty and someone came knocking on the front door...... would they hear that? would servants? would the pets? Not keeping to logical realistic world building loses me which was the case here.

Overall this was a cute fantasy story that will be of interest to fans looking for the alpha male finding his one true love scenario. The action-adventure scenes do provide the reader with a platform to enjoy the journey as they discover that love can heal even the most broken hearted as long as one is willing to fight for it.

2.5 Smutty Stars
Megan is an operative that only has 48 hours left of service when she submits her deets to the bridal processing center. Warlord Nyko is an Atlan with the beginnings of mating fever when he attempts to rescue Maegan. The two have an instant connection, but the coupling is derailed by escaping danger and Megan’s brain troubles. I believe this is where the improved, bleeding black, Nexus 9 Hive soldier storyline.

Bottom Line- This was another lackluster showing for me. 😐 Nothing bad, just sort of boring. We never get a ton from the relationship side, but we get some, and this was filled with battles, brain bleeds, implants, etc. And I needed more from Nyko and Megan.

** Random connections- Commander Warlord Wulf is around. This happens prior to him being captured/modified by the HIVE and forced to live on Colony. He’s around for several books and finally gets his own with Bachelor Beast. Captain Seth Mills is her boss. His book is Fighting For Their Mate, and his sis Sarah and her mate Dax (Mated To The Beast) live next to them on Atlan. (they have a baby Lily)

Nyko and Megan’s story was so good. The emotions these characters have are so strong. They make me feel for them. And becaue the stories are sad the HEA is that much sweeter. It’s so satisfying to see them together after all the struggles.

This is another book apart of the interstellar brides program series!

This one is about Megan and Nyko. They are both a part of the Interstellar coalition. However, the two of them get stuck on a planet for one night and decide to have a little fun😉 But once they get back home they realize that they might want more than one night, but due to certain complications that might not happen.

This one was just okay for me. It is not my favorite in the series, unfortunately :(

I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved Megan's strength. She is determined to complete her mission and get the coalition the information it needs. She takes the bride testing in preparation for contract being done in 2 days but is waiting to run the protocol until her mission is complete. Nyko and Megan end up together when the mission goes a little sideways and he steps in to help her out with the 3 Nexus soldiers after her. I enjoyed watching these two come together and finally start figuring things out with Nyko in beast mode and his beast claiming Megan. It takes a little more confirmation for the two of them though they are definitely drawn to each other and Nyko is in mating fever and his beast is determined to stay near Megan and protect her. They have some additional issues to deal with as the implant in her head is causing major complications. I enjoyed watching these two figure out that they didn't need to change who they were for their match. The story was well written and interesting and I can't wait for more.
The narrators did a great job with the story and characters.

Everytime Grace Goodwin announces the release of a new book I´m giddy. Everytime I read a book by Grace Goodwin I think: This is it. It can´t get better. And everytime she releases a new book , she did it again, she topped the last one.
And now here is Mating Fever.
Meet Megan Simmons, a soldier from earth who fights in the Interstellar Coalition fleet. She ´s a special ops warrior on a secret mission.
And there is Nyko from Atlan, a warrior and alpha male, strong, headstrong and in beast mode when the enemy is near.
They´re acquaintances, but there´s not much love between these two. What is to change.....

I loved reading about these two strong people, about duty, love and a well deserved HEA. And the scorching hot sex scenes.
Mating Fever is a beautiful lovestory, a great science fiction read, well written and great characters.

Grace Goodwin has ruined me for all other alien romance novels. Correction… she has ruined me for ALL romance novels. After reading her material, I find the others to be tame, dull and overall anticlimactic. I am not ashamed to admit that I have read each of her books at least twice.

The Interstellar Brides series takes place at a time where aliens are real and there are several different planets and species. There is a galactic enemy known as the hive, which is a technological species that invades planets and either kills its inhabitants or transforms their captives into one of them. A coalition was formed between the planets who are at war with the hive. Each member of the coalition is required to supply soldiers and brides to the cause. Soldiers to fight the hive, and brides to repopulate the diminished that have fallen victim to the war. There is a neurological test that a bride takes to me matched to their perfect alien planet, then their perfect alien match on that planet, through a series of sexual desires that only our subconscious can answer for. Earth allows for volunteers to apply to the program, or grants female criminals the option to become a bride over a prison sentence. Those who volunteer are paid a healthy sum of money, and those who are prisoners are given clean slates. All applicants are required to give up their Earth citizenship to become a resident of their new chosen planet. A bride has 30 days to accept or reject their match. If they accept their claim, they are mated to their new alien husband for the rest of their lives where they are expected to make babies. If they reject their mate, they are assigned a new one on that same planet. Where they are still expected to make babies. Warden Egara makes continued appearances throughout the series as she is the one who processes the brides in the United States.

The author was smart in how she developed her story lines with the different species. Whenever she feels like getting kinky with orgies, she just has to write a match made to Viken. Feeling like dominant wall sex? Looks like it’s an Atlan beast book. In the mood for sentimental feelings? Prillion it is. Or some one-on-one bondage and S&M? Yep, it’s a Trion book. Lol

Written in first person, Mating Fever is book 10 in this series and follows the human bride Megan Simmons and her alien mate Warlord Nyko from the planet Atlan. Both Megan and Niko are soldiers aboard Battleship Karter. Megan had hive implanted into her brain for a special mission to draw out the Nexus units (the leaders of the hive), and kill one, collecting its technology for study. This was her last mission before her two years service was ending. She signed up for the bride program, to be matched after she completed her mission. Nyko was a soldier on the ground while Megan operated her mission. He found her alone, leading the nexus into a cave that doubled as a trap. After helping her kill the nexus unit, the two had to stay together in the cave until the following morning for transport. Turns out Nyko was in the throes of mating fever, and Megan was more than happy to service him, even though the two had bickered and fought each other since they met. They both thought they hated each other, turned out to be the opposite. Nyko thought he always wanted a tame and submissive Atlan female to settle down with, but his beast had other desires. His beast wanted Megan, from the first moment they met, sassy feistiness and all. When they returned from their successful mission, she was forced to wait before getting the hive technology removed from her head, which was causing internal bleeding. While she was healing in a pod, the doctor noticed Nyko’s mating fever and insisted he be processed for a bride. Lo and behold (and we totally saw this one coming), Megan was matched to Nyko. That moment when Nyko almost lost his shit when he thought Megan was to be matched to someone else made my heart flutter. So romantic. 🫶🏻 They made it back to Atlan, where Megan became pregnant, and presumably lived happily ever after.

Atlans are humanoid. What sets them apart from everyone else is their massive size (they’re larger than humans and all other aliens), and they have a split personality of sorts that they refer to as their “beast.” Their beast lives inside them, very much with its own personality, and only comes out during danger or mating fever. When the beast comes out to play, they grow bigger - with elongated fangs, sharp facial features and bulging muscles - and their main personality takes a backseat behind the scenes. Did I mention that the Atlans are my favorite of the alien species? We even get a special appearance from Warlord Dax and his human mate Sarah from book 5, and the couple have a beautiful baby now.

There have been way too many romance novels I’ve read that had me frustrated and yelling “Jesus Christ, when are they gonna fuck?! Get to the good shit already!” When we’re 50% in, and the main characters have barely kissed each other, leaves readers like me aggravated. This is NOT one of those books. The very first chapter gives a very clear indication of what we are in for. I’m fairly confident that there is more sexual content in this book than adventure. It is, quite literally, word porn.

The first few books in this series were a little too hardcore for my tastes. Which is saying a lot because I am far from a prude and consider myself a person with a healthy and active sex life. Filled with bondage and S&M, the consent line was a little blurry in some cases. Spankings take place in every single book. If any man spanked me, I would probably kill them in their sleep, but I guess some women do enjoy them. Spankings are more of a turn-off than turn-on in my case, so I just ignore those parts of the books like “nope, that didn’t just happen.” This book had more soft, gentle love than dominating possession and I loved every word of it. It was an “awe” kind of book.

As I’ve read through this series and all its spin offs, I can attest that the plot is incredibly addictive. I am way too invested in each book, in all its adventure and romance. This book is no exception, I highly recommend.

I love 💘Atlans

This is one of my absolutely favorite interstellar brides books. Megan's and Nyco story was passionate and truly loving. I loved that he wanted every part of her the woman and the warrior. I love the passionate, loving and dominate nature of the Atlan. The respect ,loyalty and soul binding love is beautiful and I want my own Atlan to keep me safe and let me fly all at the same time.

Beast mate

This is a fun story about a woman who gets one over on the Hive and also finds her mate in the process. The hero is a beast, in the literal sense. It has a lot of action, a few scares and a few threats, but you still get a HEA. Well worth reading.

Mating fever was overall boring. It started well enough with an interesting female character but throughout the book it became repetitive and Ridiculous.

Megan as a female character she was in the beginning very interesting; presented as the tough girl who takes no nonsense and fights right beside the boys, but quickly enough she became another hormonal teenager just dreaming to get hot and heavy with the hot guy. And while she was on a tough spot for most of the book, this only made her decision to you have sex with the male character all the more stupid.

Nyko, Again I have a problem with the way this author writes her male character's names, This one in particular reminds me of a certain shoe brand making me doubt pronunciation and feel rather silly pronouncing it. Anyway, Nyko ended up very common. He is nothing but a cookie cut out of every other male character in the series. The most annoying part about him was the constant repetition of the same thoughts and emotions on his part, especially those making him look or sound like a horny hormonal teenager.

In the past I've thought the series is just porn and that it works as porn just fine but in the case of this book it fails, for it feels boring repetitive even during sex scenes, not to mention frustrating, particularly the conversations or sex talk during the at times crass pornographic scenes.

I wouldn't bother buying this book maybe not even reading it.

Flawless. Amazing. This one beat Mated to the Beast by a trillion for me, omfg! And I LOVED that one a lot but this one was, *chef's kiss*. Megan and Nyko were adorable, sexy, smart, beautiful, lethal warriors, a freaking dream. I absolutely ADORED how Nyko kept tab of everything about Megan, of what she liked, and how he remembered every little thing they had done together. How he ADMIRED and drooled at how kickass and powerful and brave and intelligent and strong and intrepid Megan is. And omfg the banter, the FLAVOR of their dynamic! This book actually made me enjoy the forced proximity trope lmao! Once again the Hive plot was incredible. As much as this is about rutting beasts and mating cuffs and everything, Ms. Goodwin has also written some incredible sci-fi here. I love it, for real. I loved that Megan was a half Black woman, too, and how much Nyko worshipped her skin and her hair. That was so soft and important. I also loved how Megan's father was made to be the tender parent who Megan loved dearly. Only few complaints I have would be the book cover that doesn't accurately represent Megan and that Nyko's narrative got a little repetitive at points, but no biggie. Seriously, this installment was an IBP masterpiece. If you have to read just one Interstellar Brides Program book, this is the one.

Really enjoyed the book. Megan was a bit of a whiner. Grated on my nerves actually. She sounded younger than the age mentioned. Really, she was almost 30, a billion miles away and still whining about her conversations with her mother. Why are you calling her? Her mother did not like her. There really wasn't a reason given for that. Only that her father was dead and her mother started to drink shortly there after. I don't understand why the hostility was directed towards Megan. She had low self esteem, but very unwarranted, given her current job. Megan was a superstar and it seems that her fellow warriors respected and admired her. Nyko was hot, but I loved his Beast. Beast knew it immediately. Nyko had to catch up. Once Beast was able to taste, no one was taking Megan from him. He was so cute. Mine, mine, mine! Even after he went through the testing for a bride, he would not be dissuaded. I actually loved the world created by Grace Goodwin. This is the first book I've read by this author. The action was amazing. Nexus 9 was creepy. Great, well developed characters. I do recommend this book. Enjoyed it immensely.

Non male, si sa già che in questi libri se cerchi la storia devi lasciar perdere, sono per passare tempo e staccare la testa dai pensieri, lei è una guerriera umana davvero tosta che lavora per l'intelligence che cerca di sconfiggere i nemici soprattutto adesso che hanno capito come fanno a comunicare tra loro, lui è un Atlan un guerriero che ha dentro di sé una bestia pronta ad esplodere, in più da settimane avverte la febbre che viene soltanto ai maschi senza compagna, se non la troverà in poco tempo dovranno ucciderlo perché non capirà che niente e diventerà pericoloso per tutti, lei sulla terra non ha nessuno che la induca a tornare infatti sua madre non la sopporta ed è più interessata al bere che a fare altro, lui ha persi i genitori da anni e non ha altri parenti, si conoscono da un po', ma non si sopportano molto e giustamente sono compagni, avranno alcune vicissitudini legate ad un dispositivo che lei si era fatta impiantare in testa, ma per fortuna passerà tutto e andranno a vivere sul pianeta natale di lui.

Megan is a tough-as-nails girl from Boston. When she couldn't join her brothers as a Navy Seal she joined the Air Force and volunteered for military intelligence in the Coalition Fleet... fighting Hive aliens in outer space. Now her mandatory 2 years are almost up. She has one last mission to run, but with Hive tech implanted in her head... how will she ever survive?

Nyko was an Atlan war orphan. He's dedicated his adult live to fighting the Hive, but now he fights his beast half who has decided it's time to find a mate and stop fighting. Unwilling to let his brothers-in-arms fight without him he pushes past the time when he should mate and follows his troops into battle... only to get trapped with Megan in a cave as mating fever takes over and he loses control to his beast who has decided that Megan is just right for them. Now he has to save her from the Hive fighters on the planet and the Hive tech in her head before he and his beastly half can truly make Megan their mate.

Mine

Megan and Nyko. Human IC coalition fighter (basically like special black ops in space)
Megan is almost done with her 2 years fighting Hive and special missions. With the chip in her head she has to finish her last mission, but before she heads out she gets tested for a mate by the intersteller brides program. Now all she has to is survive her last mission and live happy ever after.
Nyko is an Atlan Warlord who is close to going into Mating Fever. That means he has to find his one mate that will calm his beast and save his life. Not to mention hit sex with dominat male who hulks out....everywhere. yes ping the male envy ego.
So battle, blood guts heads and bodies ripped apart to satisfy anyone with blood lust. But fear not.. sexy cave scene. Wink wink. Then some drama you dont want to miss.
Overall I did enjoy this story. So much better when you actually have a story instead of 2 characters banging each other repeatedly. I enjoy a little finesse. :)

Well, the title is par for the course with this book. Even if someone isn't sure what this book is about, the very first chapter makes it clear.  It's fairly short, both in words and -surprise- in storyline. Yet it manages to be repetitive. 

Okay, here's what you can expect: Huge, muscley alien alpha warrior male? Check.
That alien bonds to only one single woman for life? Check.
He even dies if he doesn't bond with her? Check.
And once he's bonded, he's in pain if he's ever physically separated from his mate? Yes, yes.
Lots of sex? Sure is.
Huge c**k? You betcha.
Jumping from sex to love? Yes, that too.
And babies and family after the mating? Of course!
Oh and does he conveniently retire once bonded and is he rewarded a huge estate with 8 bedrooms, a forest and a fountain? Yes, all of that.

It was predictable and ridiculous and over the top. I still kinda liked it. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that sort of thing.

Okay the one thing that kinda bugged me is that this is the 3rd human female that’s 6 feet tall! 🤦‍♀️ Honestly that’s extremely rare I know this is fiction but come on!

She was another kick ass hive fighter, she was on a top secret mission where scientists put a part of hive technology in her brain to flush out the high ranking hive generals.

It worked and was creepy as the hive commander was unlike any other hive soldier they had ever encountered, it felt like he touched her soul. But she got what she needed with the help of a big alien on her team who was in mating fever making him bigger & stronger than ever.

She almost died a couple times from the technology in her brain so it had to be removed.

Then she found out she was officially mated to the big guy who saved her life!

The story was pretty good and action packed, she was a strong female character & the spice was fun too!

I love this series. And I really love strong female characters, and you can’t get much stronger than Megan. Not such a great home life on earth, and instead of signing up to be a bride she signed up to be part of the coalition. And now her mission is even more dangerous. Good thing she has Nyko looking out for her, now if he wasn’t such a pain in her butt it would be much better. They both secretly have the hots for each other, and now stuck in a cave they have a chance to be together one time. Because Megan‘s tour is up and now instead of going home she’s going to be a bride. And as for Nyco, he is starting to suffer the mating fever. Dangerous times, they have to survive the Hive first. Even more interesting is when they find out they have been matched together. Great happily ever after.

Non c’è niente da fare i signori della guerra di Atlan hanno una marcia in più. La loro doppia natura uomo/bestia li rende particolarmente interessanti quando si tratta di caratterizzarli. Questo è il terzo o il quarto libro che leggo sul pianeta Atlan e dalla sua questa serie ha il pregio di non ripetersi mai ; Dax, Deek e questa volta Nyko, sono davvero diversi l’uno dall’altro. Nyko in particolare è si sempre un signore della guerra, ma non è prettamente dominatore, ha accanto a se Megan, cazzuta quanto lui, e spesso e volentieri le cede le redini.
Di questo libro inoltre mi è piaciuto molto il fatto che la scelta fra di loro sia stata primaria rispetto al programma spose… insomma entrambi si erano innamorati prima e la cosa bella è che la bestia abbia riconosciuto la sua compagna molto prima di Nyko stesso. La pelle che domina la ragione. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

In this book , the beast is Nyko, an Atlan Warrior, who is in his Mating fever . This fever affects all Atlans, and if they dont find a mate , then their Beast takes over , and they must be out down.
Megan is an Earth girl, who comes from a Military family. She chose to go Interstellar, instead of staying on Earth. Only a two year term to retirement. And when we meet her, she has only two more days to go !
Oh, yeah, she knows the Atlan Nyko, ran a few ops with him ....
They DON'T like each other .

Wonderful!😍

Megan is a force to be reckoned with, and Warlord Nyko is her perfect mate. Both strong willed, and tough, they both acted like they hated each other. Of course, they both were very hot for each other! Being in a very dangerous situation trying to capture, and take body parts from a specific kind of Hive soldier back to Intelligence unit to finally have a way of defeating this species who take and implant devices into the brains of captured Coalition members. Lots of drama, and angst, with Megan, as she fights to survive being a plant for Dr. Helion in Coalition Intelligence Corps. They have a long painful journey to finally be proven as True matched Mates. Trish. A

J'aime bien cette autrice US qui mêlent SF/space opera et romance érotique. Bien que ce soit toujours très bourrin et les romances répétitives, j'apprécie que l'intrigue SF évolue d'un couple à l'autre. Il y a quelques énormes fautes (pas trop, heureusement), même si ça reste l'auto-éditée la mieux traduite dans le genre. C'est tout de même agaçant de ne pas avoir un ebook parfait, car ces novellas sont relativement chères. Ici, j'ai vraiment accroché avec la première partie, les relations tendues entre les deux sont toujours un bon moyen d'exacerber les passions. J'ai aussi été soulagée de ne pas y trouver les éternelles scènes de fessées, de domination masculine étouffante.

I loved this story because Megan Simmons was no shrinking violet. No, she was a strong, determined, and very intelligent woman that just happened to be a valued soldier who put herself in danger to help end the constant fighting and destruction of her fellow fighters. Nyko of Atlan was a beast of a soldier that believed as Megan did that the only way to help his people was to eliminate the threat. It was fate that brought these two characters together. But, it was so much more that bound them and insisted they were one. Their story was heartwarming and wonderful and I enjoyed every part of this it. Such A Great Read!!!!!

I enjoyed this story!

It pulled me in from beginning, straight to the end and I loved Megan's strength. So determined to complete her mission and get the coalition the information it needs. She takes the bride testing in preparation for contract being done in 2 days but is waiting to run the protocol until her mission is complete.

Nyko and Megan end up together through a series of intense mishaps but in the end, they didn't try to change who they were for their match. I always love that part of these stories, they always seem so different but end up complimenting each other's personalities.

The story was well written and interesting.
