Many young people experiment with alcohol and drugs when they are teenagers by sneaking drinks from their parents’ liquor stash or by smoking an occasional marijuana joint. For most teenagers, drinking and drug use are rebellion more than anything—the idea of breaking parents’ or society’s rules is exhilarating.
Rosewood, Jack. Jeffrey Dahmer: A Terrifying True Story of Rape, Murder & Cannibalism (The Serial Killer Books Book 1) (pp. 14-15). Kindle Edition. After spending 10 minutes on Harris's book, I can say the Rosewood version is definitely an improvement, but I just could not wade through Rosewood's writing. It's tedious, uninspired, and seems like it's written for sixth graders (who shouldn't be reading about Dahmer!), and not adult fans of true crime with multisyllabic vocabularies.
I'm going to give Anne Schwartz's version a go, and if that's a bust, then I am officially throwing in the towel and taking it as a sign that I'm not meant to read more on Dahmer.
tdlr; you could do worse than this book, but maybe set your sights a bit higher in your true crime readings.
