You know when you read a duet and all the drama has already played out in the first book so the second is just tying up loose ends and you ask yourself, "why is this two books instead on just one?" Yeah, the Real Dirty Duet is not one of those, at all. Sure, there were obstacles and complications galore in Real Dirty, but Real Sexy is no slouch. Just as enchanting, just as addicting, and probably even more important than the first book, Meghan March draws you in to Real Sexy to find out where that ending to the first book came from, then enchants you within moments and has you so wrapped up in the continuation of Boone and Ripley's story you can't possibly look away.
While this duet is Boone Thrasher's highly anticipated story, this second book could actually be considered Ripley's story as we finally get to see inside the woman that has stolen our beloved Boone's heart. We are given insight into what kind of woman she really is, what makes her tick beyond the bar she's been chained to all of her life and the tragedy of her mama, as well as her dreams, her goals, her talents, and her inspiration, most of which we discover right along with her. So strong yet vulnerable, proud yet loveable, if Ripley hadn't already become a favorite March heroine after the first book, she is sure to this time around.
With some not so surprising turns and some totally unexpected twists, this book could very well be considered even more intriguing than the first. The drama and angst in this installment will thrill you, alarm you, and keep you so twisted up you can't possibly put it down.
As a Meghan March fan you will be absolutely delighted to experience the cameos of some of our favorite couples from previous books and one especially that really takes the cake. I was just as surprised as Ripley when one couple in particular shows up on the scene and absolutely thrilled with the way in which the meeting goes down and the surprising direction it takes things. Exactly what we've come to expect from this notorious couple and a ton of fun to see and experience all over again.
Aside from Boone and Ripley, Zane continues to get more and more interesting with every encounter. A whole lot more likeable since we first saw him when he had his sights set on Banner and wasn't much of a take-no-for-an-answer type of guy, now that we see a vulnerable side to him, the pain that lurks in his past, and a little less ego, Real Sexy will have you begging for a Frisco spin-off.
Heartbreaking, thrilling, nail biting, fun, and yes very, very sexy, Real Sexy has it all. From self discovery to self realization, from letting go to moving forward, from learning to hope to learning real love, from accepting one's mistakes to whole heartedly embracing a bright and promising future, this is one journey that will make you laugh, make you cry, make you swoon, make you cheer, make your heart skip a beat, and make you sigh with both relief and content. Boone and Ripley's duet met even my highest of expectations and Real Sexy went above and beyond. Don't miss this series and don't underestimate this sequel.
