When Mona was six years old, she witnessed the death of her mother… by a Demon. Mona was told what she saw was impossible, but she always knew the truth, nothing would convince her otherwise; not even pesky little things like doctors or psychologists.

It’s been 12 years, 8 foster homes, 5 schools and 2 crappy part-time jobs since then, but now the monsters are back, and they’re everywhere.

Suddenly Mona finds herself in a world which she never knew existed and hunted by a creature like the one plaguing her nightmares.

Luckily, Mona isn’t alone. But will the help of her new friends, be enough to save her?

Cece Rose is the proud owner of one dog, two cats, two turtles, and one annoying boyfriend.

She hails from Devon in the South-West of England, but dreams of sunny skies and sand between her toes. Although, whenever abroad, she'll moan about the heat and the sand that gets everywhere.

She has largely convinced all who know her that she's a vampire, mainly due to her nocturnal habits and tendency to bite. In reality, it's because her creativity only ever strikes when the sky is dark and the stars are shining. (Plus, it's actually quiet enough to concentrate on writing when everyone else in the world is sleeping.)

You know when you start reading a book and you know immediately you're going to like it? When you keep giggling for nothing? And when you see that the book is quite long but surprisingly each time you see the position you're on it's too far ahead?

Well, this series has become my second favorite reverse harem series, right after The Academy by C.L. Stone. And when the next books come out, I don't know if the position will be the same.

Why I read this book

Reverse harem, four hot non-human men, and a kickass heroine. The teasers were promising and the plot seemed great. Oh, and I simply love paranormal romance.

What I Liked

From where do I start?
First, I loooove some paranormal romance with a kickass heroine who isn't a don't-know-anything-just-do-nothing.
Mona is strong and everything you want on a heroine. She kicks asses and loves so deep that she'd risk her life for her love ones. She hasn't had a good life because of something she witnessed during her youth.

I loved that she doesn't have that annoying phase of I-don't-believe-you-even-I'm-seeing-right-now
Seriously. Loved. That.

On the other hand, we have the guys...

They're close friends and their personalities are very different. You can feel it and read it right away. I didn't find myself stopping to think who was who, so that's a very good thing.

We have Nikolas, Mason, Kaden and Callan.

They're protective and friendly toward the heroine, and well, *cough* *cough* they had some pretty hot moments.

Even we have one rogue in the group, I hope he gets back to his senses.

What I didn't Like

There was just a tiny little thing that I couldn't stand at all: Trust.
Mona doesn't tell anything about anything to the guys. I understand her reasons, but, come on?! You have to trust them!
I hope she trusts them more in the next books.

And well, another thing I hate is that I'm here writing this review when I really want to read the second book, and I know that it's not written yet.

Ok first of all....WTF?!

Here's my list of what I thought:

1.) In the first chapter, we have Mona, who has seen some seriously mad shit all her life (including some hobgoblin lookin guy on the bus that she shies away from) going to a bar to meet up with her friends—this bitch Luna with the watermelon hair and her over-protective and slightly pompous, gay best friend Christian. That's all fine and fucking dandy.

She sees a dude in this bar with mutha effin glowing eyes like the creeper who killed her Mama leave the bar with another dude. A sane person would of been like "hell no! Glowing eyed dudes are bad news!"

BUT NO!

She does what everyone yells at those stupid girls in horror movies not to do....she FOLLOWS HIM!

And I'm all over here thinking..

Then she watches this glowing eyed dude rip out the other random dudes heart. Still, does she run away immediately?

NO! She watches! Like...run bitch run! You shouldn't even be there! He of course catches her and threatens her.

2.) Throughout the story she meets a vast majority of dudes who are all friends and are supernatural type brings; witch, elf, tiger shifter, fairy etc. they were alright. Except... WHY THE FUCK WOULD A TIGER SHIFTER BE AFRAID OF HER!!?

He needs to be all like

Mason, this bad ass tiger shifter, gets scared of her when she threatens to hurt him if he touched her pizza. DUDE! You have mutha effin claws!!! You're king of the effin jungle bro! If you want that pizza, take it! She doesn't know she's special! She clearly isn't that logical of a thinker if she's running into dark alleys after glowing eyed strangers. TAKE THE PIZZA!

5.) is there like a vets office fetish going on here....I think one of the authors was a WEEEEE bit excited by this clinic. Like is it possible to love inanimate objects THAT MUCH?

Hmm...maybe so

4.) then the damn epilogue....like through Adam's slight appearances I've loved the dude. He was a solid dude..err demon. Even had himself a fancy feather. But then he gave Mona's ass up to these demon kings and queens and princes and...fuck like how many kings do you need?

AND FINALLY!

5.) The authors end it with glowey eyes that match the dude from the prologue who killed Mona's mom....which answered ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! And I hate these authors for making me read this entire damn book because...

I absolutely fucking loved it.

This book was genius and you could tell these two out their entire hearts and minds into this book. (If you hadn't noticed this is a roast review and I'm totally just messing around with you people) I followed these two authors in their beginning processes of writing and let me tell you...it's been a freaking honor seeing it turned into what it became. I was enraptured with it all from start to finish and even after helping them out and staring at their pages as I edited...I still wanted to read it again. It's just THAT damn good. If you don't buy this book...you are seriously missing out on one of the most enthralling RH novels I've read in a long time.

Seriously though 5 stars all around!

I am part of the readers fan group on facebook for the authors of this book, so i have been patiently but really impatiently waiting for A Demon's Blade to come out!
Finally it has!!!!!!!!! and i was not disappointed.

A Demons Blade follows Mona, a seemingly ordinary woman, who has been noticing peoples faces and appearances change before her eyes.
She is just casually having fun with her best friends when she notices something is not right out the people sitting near them, so she follows them out of the pub, this is where Mona's story begins.

It comes to light that Mona has some family history that was not disclosed to her, because of that shes now the target for a very psychotic demon. That being said, it is looking up for Mona when shes met with a handsome Scottish Witch named Callan, a grumpy, hot, anti-social Fae name Nickolas (who i am going to refer to as Nicky from now on, it suits him), A sexy mountain man elf named Kaden (who will hence-forth be known as Kadie, because its adorable) and a soft spoken but strong shifter named Mason. So far my favourites are Kadie and Nicky, they just have amazing chemistry with Mona, Callan and Mason are a little more reserved so im waiting to see how they interact with Mona a little more before i make my judgments on them.

The boys are determined to help Mona, even though it seems that shes got a Demon or two gunning for her. I loved how each guy had their own personality, which sounds like an obscure thing to say, but in a reverse harem novel, it can be common for all the men to kind of morph into one. So i'm very glad that each one has a very distinct personality.

There was some really heartbreaking moments that made me absolutely ugly cry. I do understand why it had to happen, but that doesnt mean that i cant be sad about it. I feel for Mona so much.

The spoiler tag below is for some of the questions about the plot that im hoping will be answered in the books. There are so many!! Caycee and CeCe, you're killing me here!!!!

The Authors are currently underway writing and editing the next in the series, please make it come faster!!!!!!!! I'm dying here!!!!

"How have you made it this far in life?"
"With great difficulty. I like to think God set my player mode to expert, but he never gave me the rules or explained the controls for the game. I think he missed giving me my mission objective, too. I mainly just wander around looking lost. But at least I look cool doing it."

Enjoyable, entertaining, likeable MC. And other stuff that i'm too lazy to write about.

But it's pretty good!

I really wanted to like this book. The idea was great, the plot was even pretty good, but there is no connection to the characters. The author doesn't flesh them out. Without some type of attachment there's nothing to care about.
Mona is every MC cliché I hate. TSTL, keeps super important secrets (too increase the drama I suppose), Wants to know but then whines about it once she does 😩 There's even villian monologuing, with the MC swearing to end his life if it's the last thing she ever does.
I hate when I DNF a book, and I really did try to finish. There were moments of hope that, yes, this was turning around I may actually like it. Then a few pages later it would slip through my fingers and disappear again.

When the Prologue of a book starts with a quote by the Master of Macabre, Edgar Allan Poe, you know you are in for a good ride. Turns out A Demon's Blood delivered even better than that. The debut book by the CC's is well-written, imaginative, full of hot guys, and absolutely addictive.

Mona's not had an easy life; orphaned when her mother was murdered, she grew up in foster homes. As an adult she lives with her best friend Christian, her brother from one of her early homes. As a child she had "hallucinations" and now as an adult, they seem to have come back. One night Mona follows one of her hallucinations into an alley trying to get some answers. She gets so much more than she bargained for. Her life will never be the same. She witnesses an upper level demon commit murder and now he's after her. At first he plans to just kill her, but after discovering that there's more to Mona than just being an average human, he is determined to have her as his slave. Days after she witnessed the murder she has a visitor looking for the victim. Callan also recognizes that there is something more to Mona but he doesn't know what. He convinces her to go back with him to Scotland to meet his friend, Nikolas, who will recognize what she is. Once in Glasgow Mona's in non-stop danger. She's hunted by a demon, visited by another, suffers tragic loss, and is repeatedly attacked by monsters that she never knew existed. She now knows that she is a halfling and that the good guys and the bad guys of the paranormal world don't believe that she should be allowed to exist. She also finds that she is stronger than she ever imagined; she has magic, and bad-ass ninja skills (sorta). She has made friends with Callan and his hot friends, none of whom are average humans either. Callan is human, but a witch, Kaden is an elf, Mason is a tiger-shifter, and although not exactly her friend, Nikolas is fae. Her life has changed. The likelihood of her surviving long in this new world is slim even with her new friends.

The world building is fantastic; very multi-layered, very detailed. The story is excellent; full of action with a touch of simmering romance. But the characters are what make this book special. Each is clearly defined, yet there is so much we still need to learn about them. They are all misfits in a way. They are all compelling. Kaden is so protective, Mason is so sweet, Callan oozes control and Nikolas is dark and brooding. The sexual attraction between Mona and Kaden was hot. The way that Kaden and Mason made her feel safe and protected gives you the warm fuzzies, but her relationship with Nikolas was my favorite. The banter and tension between him and Mona had me laughing several times in the book. He also was the one to inflict the hurtful comments. This guy has depth. Put all four together with Mona and you have a great slow-building Reverse Harem. I am captivated. Highly recommend.

When do I ever learn not to start reading a series that isn't complete yet? Never, it seems. Probably because they are just that good!

Boy, these two authors know how to write a book, especially a rh one! :)
It is the complete rh package:
- well written
- a totally fun read (loved the humor)
- suspense, action, and mystery
- a kick-ass heroine who is also very likable
- rh romance that is slowly building
- and not to forget: awesome hot guys who are very different from each other, each guy has his own appeal
- a bonus: the fantastic world building

I really enjoyed the fact that it's not love at first sight (at least where Nick, sorry Nikolas, is concerned; it still wasn't very obvious with the others).
I also liked that it doesn't end with a huge cliffhanger (well there are unanswered questions and concerns, especially after reading the epilogue, but for now Mona and her guys are okay) :)

All the romantic moments with each guy or when all of them are there:

I am so looking forward for more (I need more Callan moments!). On that note:
When can I read the next book? :)

Enjoyed it!

This was a thoroughly delightful freshman novel. I hope that in the next book they explore the different magical species more as there was only an introduction in this one. If you enjoy a paranormal novel with a main character who somehow manages to, mostly, save herself and that has delicious men that are more than what they appear then you will not be disappointed with this one.

5 "Here's to Being A Bad*ss" Stars

A Demon's Blade tells the story of a women who gets a little caught up in a world she's not well-versed in. It's the classic story of a girl walking into a bar and then finding that humans aren't the only beings walking around the Earth.... so maybe not that classic...

But this story did rock my socks. It had everything, great characters, great plot, and awesome action that kept me on my toes and waiting for the next supernatural occurrence. The thing that I probably enjoyed most about this book was the characters! I mean this book was jam packed full of sexy hot guys who are just so great and different that I couldn't help fall in love with them. This is a reverse harem book so I loved all of the different guys and their varying personalities. I think a key part of reverse harem's is that first introduction and how the story plays out from there and I have to say that this book did it smashingly!

I loved how the boys became incorporated into Mona's life, it was the perfect pace for the book and for me! I find a lot of books either go way too fast or way too slow but A Demon's Blade managed to introduce all the guys at a good pace but the relationships didn't progress at a ridiculous pace. But not only was the pace right on track, but so were the relationships! I loved the slow progression Mona had with each of the guys over the course of the novel.

This is definitely the book for you if you like reading about:
- A strong female lead who kicks *ss
- several hot contenders for that previously mentioned female lead
- well-dressed villains
- supernatural romances
- shifters, elves, vampires, demons, and more!
- and a sneak peak of book #2 that will have you salivating for more

If any of these things checks your "must read" list than you need to check out A Demon's Blade!

Literally this book couldn't be better as the characters and plot developed. There were definitely some things I didn't expect and tears I didn't expect to cry but I can definitely say that this is a book you do not want to miss!! I am super psyched for the next one in the series as their was definitely a little bit of a teaser at the end of this novel and I can't wait to see how it progresses.

(Spoiler Free Review) This was a fantastic start to a series!

This book jumps you right into the mystery and action in just the first few pages. There's no boring "catching up" or long winded introductions (Yay!). Nor is there an info dump, which is amazing. We learn about this world just as the MC does and boy are we in for a ride. I was so deep into this world that I often snuck pages in while working and stayed up entirely too late to grab some extra chapters.

I absolutely loved Mona. She's fierce but realistic. She does stick up for herself but not in obnoxious way. She's a freshing character and kept me thoroughly engrossed in the story. She has a bad mouth (yesssss), knows her worth and questions everything. Love. Her.

The group of guys who surround her all bring something to the table as well. There's no Insta love (Thank you!). There's emotions, personality crashes and real issues being brought up and handled. It also helps that I fell for each guy as well *dreamy smile*

The world was impeccable. It's paranormal-ish so we were made aware of supernatural type creatures throughout. Thankfully it was done very well. None of it came out cheesy or "silly". The MC handled herself great and had honest reactions.

The dialogue was amazing. It was often times quirky, hilarious, brilliant and informative. Perfect. Very well rounded and did a lot of show not tell. I swoon for some fantastic dialogue and these authors did it wonderfully.

The word building was excellent. The authors did a great job of showcasing each character and explaining this world. Their voices merged as one and was crafted expertly for the book.

I'm so excited for book 2! There's still so many mysteries and questions and situations I'm looking forward to or need to know the answers too. I strongly, strongly suggest you buy this book and read it. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Hello, my name is Vicky and I have a problem; I get obsessed with authors that hook me with their books.

Ever had that blinding moment when you realise you're going to be stalking a couple of new authors? Yeah, that moment. Well be prepared to suck it up as this debut novel kicks ass if you like RH, a snarky lead, five very different yet hot men (because let's face, Adam may be a demon but man is he hot with it), PNR and urban-fantasy.

While the start of the book feels slow it's only because the background is being set up and trust me, the last quarter of the book is all fast-paced action which leaves the reader with more questions than answers and, hopefully, setting the plot up for several more books in the series.

Obviously there will be moments of "what the heck are you doing, just trust them!" as Mona keeps close council despite three of the four men opening themselves and their world up to her (though Nick is extremely reluctant at first, hostile in fact). However, where would we be without some angst?

Thoroughly enjoyed and I'm now desperate to know what the future has in store for Mona.

This book just made the top 4 RH books in my life! I have commitment issues so that makes them all tied for first place!😍😍

If you like The Veil Diaries, The Curse of the Gods, and The Seraph Black Series you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE A Demon's Blade!

Mona is a an amazing character that you can't help but love...even if there are times you yell at the book "Mona, what the HELL are you doing" (I actually said out loud...my husband might think I'm a little more crazy then normal😁😁) . Mona also is not going to stand aside and let those she cares about get hurt. And if you hurt some she cares about you better watch out! 👀👀👀👀

Then there are these four deliciously hot men that have Mona's back. Well you really just need to read the book and fall in love with them!

This book is seriously amazing it's got a heroine that speaks fluent sarcasm and doesn't take any crap! Hot men, well dressed demons, plenty of blood and glowing eyes!

Seriously go buy this book and binge read it!

You won't regret it!😍😍😍😈

Love from first chapter

There really is not much of a point for my review, the stars I have given should tell all. This is a tale of an epic fantasy adventure with a kickbutt heroine. Now the dear did try my patience in the beginning but half the fun is watching our MCs grow and adapt to changes. I also got some great giggles, the went the ones in your head, oh no they were the ones that make people turn around and ask you what was so funny and make you crimson. We also can't forget the hot as hell males, really we can't because they are drool worthy. So I think that's it; a well written fantasy novel that contains great humour following the growth and adaption of a non meek MC female who is surrounded by epic hotness.

KU An Engrossing Read

4.5 stars
I truly enjoyed this novel although I will take off half a star for editing errors eg.prospective instead of perspective.

Mona is a credible protagonist and the novel doesn’t fall face first into rampant sex. In fact , this book includes nothing more knicker wetting action than kissing. The plot keeps up a good pace whilst eventually building up to some serious action moves.

The reverse harem factor is four sexy blokes of diverse characters and differing approaches to Mona herself which keeps the novel fresh. The paranormal element includes fae, shifter, witch and elf.

I hope readers enjoy this as much as I did.

Update: I just found out that she never put out a 3rd book, and likely abandoned the series. So that’s just freaking fantastic.

I really don’t know what to rate this book. 3.5? I started off hating it but then it got pretty good near 60% in. Enough so, that I’m going to read the next book.

It’s decently written, I mean, kind of. There are quite a few writing errors and confusing paragraphs but the plot itself is not bad.

I don’t know. I’ll just say that it’s a pretty decent read for when you can’t find what book you want to read next.

Love love love!

Hit the shelf at midnight, didn't put it down until finished! Soooo good! I love all the guys, why choose but a girls got her favorite. Everyone was written so well. The lead MC was realistic, snarky, and a bit damaged. She took things rather well in my opinion lol. I can't wait to see how this story plays out! Desperately awaiting book 2!

Review on second read

I am surprised anew at how much I enjoyed this book. It is not without its issues, certainly. But it is humorous, very entertaining, unique enough to be intriguing, and includes numerous great characters and an engrossing mystery. All in all, very worth the read.

I would say that the largest problem I had with the book was a technical one. There are a number of grammatical and awkward word usage issues that I found distracting. And the MC occasionally made some very stupid decisions, though it was, fortunately, an inconsistent problem. The rest of the time she was snarky, strong, and took no crap from anyone.

The predominantly Scottish setting was fun and different. The four love interests are yummy (though they definitely need more development, they are still a little flat). The mystery of Mona's parentage is getting very interesting (and I have some theories about that!). And I was emotionally enough invested in the story and the characters that certain scenes were very moving. (I did not tear up once. Nope. Not once. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.)

By the conclusion of the book, I was hooked. I am off to read book 2 now, though I am sorry there is no word about a release date for book 3.

Check this one out!

Mona is having some issues, she's been having these issues for a while now, but for some reason this time it seems more really. She thinks she saw some one get murdered, but the body disappeared. Now, when some strange guy comes up to her asking her about it, she knows what she saw was real, and she must learn more about herself.

However, these guys who are trying to help keep her safe also don't know every secret she is hiding, like a major secret that would probably be really bad for her. However, as she continues trying to figure it all out, things go from bad to worse for Mona.

This book was utterly fantastic. It was a great start to this series. It introduced the love interests, and the major issues that Mona is going to have right away. I loved that, also she wasn't a helpless heroine at all, she was totally badass and I adored her. I can't wait to read more in this series now!

Despite the main character being annoying sometimes - seriously, the woman could be downright cruel - she did have her redeeming qualities such as random softness, snark and a sense of humor. It's a slow burn harem so nothing romantic actually happens yet, but the story didn't need it since it stood on its own with an actual plot. The reason I rated this four instead of three despite comma issues with the editing and wanting to hit the main character sometimes was the story really was superior in comparison to a lot of these types of novels, and I couldn't put it down until it was done. Full review to come.

First off let me say this, I want Mona to be my spirit animal. I was hooked from the beginning and this def a book would want to carve out some hours for to complete it in one sitting. I am going to try and make this spoiler free, because you def do not want to have anything ruined with this story.

The authors do an absolutely mind blowing job of throwing you into the action with out bombarding you with overwhelming details. It flows so effortlessly that you would think they were seasoned authors besides first time publishers so high five girls! *throws hand up for said high five*

Starting off, they gave a perfect amount of back story for Mona (seriously with what shes went through and has turned out to be a kickass MC?! I am super jealous), but getting back to the point, they set up the story beautifully and dont waste time in throwing you into to her confusing world. One of my favorite things the authors do is let you inside Mona's head to see every single battle she wages with herself. Mona is def witty and absolutely hilarious (have i not convinced you to get the book yet? okay just hold on....)

The men of Mona's harem or sooooo drool worthy (My personal favs at this moment are Nicky and Callan), but each one brings something to the table to fits with Mona on her adventure in the perfect and often hilarious ways.

This said adventure (like i said i really am trying to avoid spoilers here) is a ride like no other. Thank you girls for creating something so new and fresh. Lately authors have been reusing the same story plots and beating them to death, nope not C.C. English-Rose. You go from seeing Mona who thinks she is basically loosing it to a young woman who depends on her inner strength.

The times that stood out most to me were honestly Mona's inner dialogue and her reactions when put into bad situations over and over. She is someone i would love to adapt after because of that hidden strength, once again Kudos to the authors for not shying away to make the character meek (which they could have done) but making her bold and her own.

Over all if i could rate this book more than five stars i totally would....but alas they are making me stay within the rating scale so five is high as it goes.

Also to point one more thing out, people who have said they are getting "stuck" on random scenes that "don't make sense" really need to open their eyes and continue reading the story.....you my dears are super book snobs and probably have never completed a novel in your life..... stick to your "terminology correct books" (like history books but BEWARE a lot of those are biased!) and leave the rest of us to out happy universe and world these amazing authors have created. LOVE YOU C.C. ENGLISH-ROSE!

Can i have the outline for book two now......i need to see what Adam is about to bring to the table *squeals in excitement*
