Я завжди була більше про песиків, ніж про котиків. Проти останніх нічого проти не маю, але з песиками ми розуміємо одне одного краще. У мене було декілька в житті таких друзів. Але один із них особливий, точніше особлива. Це такса Лада. Усі мої друзі, які хоча б раз її бачили, запам'ятали її надовго. Вона була дуже весела, енергійна, навіть трішки крейзі собака. І я досі за нею сумую, і сумуватиму завжди:(

🐕 Саме тому до мене потрапила якось (вже не пам'ятаю, коли купила) книжка від дитячого британського Джеремі Стронґа #РакетаНаЧотирьохЛапах. Дитячі книжки я собі рідко дозволяю купувати. Має бути особлива нагода. Так от, песик на обкладинці мені дуже нагадав мою Ладу. І хоча за сюжетом Стрілка не є таксою, а дворняжкою. За характером вони дуже схожі)

🐕Про що: це історія двох дітей-підлітків Тревора (винахідливого, веселого, але боягуза) та дівчинки Тіни (розумної, вигадливої і не боягузки, така собі Герміона-стайл). У Тревора є Стрілка - та сама крейзі собака, яка не піддається дресируванню. У Тіни - гігантський сенбернар Мишка. Головний сюжет полягає у тому, що діти намагаються виховати Стрілку, але ніяк). Мотивація трішки перебільшена і надумана (особливо, коли описують некерованість песика). Хоча я знаю, як власники тварин люблять розповідати про них історії (трішечки перебільшуючи, а може й ні). Сама така.

🐕Гумор в книжці дитячий. У Тревора ж звісно є ворог - старший хлопець Чарлі, син поліцейського. І про це, діти протягом двох повістин потрапляють надцять разів до поліції з різних дуже нереалістичних причин. Але гадаю дітям-читачам буде смішно і весело. Знаю, що Стронґ має армію дитячих шанувальників, і цілком зрозуміло чому:)

🐕Мені дуже сподобалися ілюстрації до книжки від #МаксПаленко (одна із головних причин, чому я її придбала). Та переклад Віктора Морозова. Переклади якого мені дуже полюбилися після знайомства з Гаррі Поттером.

How can I not give a book 5*s when it is totally written about my dog? I read this out loud to my partner (and my lurcher) changing the names to Kell and Jessica. He laughed all the way through it and so did I. If I thought getting her bum stuck in the washing machine would make her a bit better behaved I would definitely give it a try 😂.

Книга Джеремі Стронга "Ракета на чотирьох лапах" зацікавить всіх і хлопчиків і дівчаток, не залежно від їхнього віку. Ця книга піднімає настрій, вчить як можна спробувати заробляти перші гроші, вчить любити тварин і знаходити з ними контакт. Останнє, напевне найважче завдання. В нашій сім'ї з'явилася чотирилапа подруга, така собі "ракета на чотирьох лапах". Вона теж як Стрілка, гальмує в останній момент, зносить все, що їй заважає і постійно вскакує, вбігає в різноманітні кумедні ситуації. Саме такі всі маленькі песики. З ними нудьгувати не має часу. З книгою "Ракета на чотирьох лапах" точно сумно не буде. Мій десятирічний син прочитав її доволі швидко. Із задоволенням розказував смішні сюжети і тоді реготали всі, крім нашого пса. Напевне думала: "Дивні ви люди. Справжнє життя - це карколомні, захоплюючі пригоди". Радимо читати всім хто любить тварин, точніше всім хлопчикам і дівчаткам, які хочуть читати і реготати. Після цієї книги кожен захоче мати домашнього чотирилапого улюбленця чи улюбленицю.

Trevor has been promised payment from his Mum if he walks Streaker , the dog, everyday during the school holidays. Sounds like easy money doesn’t it?
Think again, Streaker is not like other, normal dogs. Streaker has his own agenda and makes life challenging and exciting for Trevor and his family. Trevor must find a way to walk Streaker whilst keeping him under control and without attracting too much attention from the school bully, the police, fire brigade and his parents.

I read this book with a group of year 4 children and they absolutely loved it. The storyline really held the attention of the children throughout the whole book. The crazy ideas that Trevor comes up with to help him walk Streaker are creative, bizarre and usually a complete disaster! This is a fantastic circle/carpet time book to read to, or with, the whole class.

This book combines humour and adventure for children year 2 and upwards. It is suitable for both boys and girls and can be enjoyed by a range of ages. The text is rather large and incorporates images to humour the reader. The book includes aspects of children's everyday lives that many can relate to. It has a brilliant plot and is easy to read. Definitely would recommend to children as a first novel.

This book is absolutely awful and I’d recommend everyone avoids it. I would have given it zero stars and that would have still been too many.
Explicit racism and subtle sexism - shocking. This book was written in the 90s (not that that’s an excuse) but even when republished in the 00s it was picked up!
This book was loaned to each child in my child’s class from the library. If this is what local libraries are giving out for families to read and sanctioned by the school I worry for my child’s generation!

I think children will find this books humorous as it is about a dog that gets transformed in an unusual way. This book has a simple plot and easy to follow. This book is good for children who are starting chapter books, as there are still many illustrations and short chapters to read. I think the pace was a bit slow, however I would still recommend this book to children.

My class loved this story. It took us a while to read as we had to snatch a few moments here and there to read it but they laughed, 'eeewwwed' and listened in all the right places! It's probably a little old for them really but they understood that Trevor had to beat Charlie Smugg and get Streaker trained.

Looking for a book for my granddaughter that she can read independently and enjoy and this book ticked all the boxes. The print is large and scattered with fun illustrations so the pace is good, the chapters are short, but more importantly the plot flows well, makes you want to read about the next bizarre adventure, and is full of fun. I am hoping she will love it.

Є трохи претензій до педагогічності чи то пак терапевтичності сюжету, але книга насамперед розрахована на шкільний вік, шось ми реально рано за неї взялись, ну і може я просто доскіпуюсь. Однак доньку було не відірвати, це та книга з нашого поточного лісту, яку просила читати першою. Не всі приколи осягнула, але деякі дуже її веселили.

Fun kids book. First read it back when I was in the target audience age group and it's still alright now. Definitely does have more appeal for the target audience though, so if you know any primary school age kids then tell them to give it a go.

This is a fun book for children detailing the escapades of a manic dog and his owner. The characters and escapades are interesting without ever being outstanding. The children in my Year 3 did enjoy it though.

I mean I found this pretty formulaic but my 5 year old loved it and wanted to read another Jeremy Strong book pretty much immediately. He loves anything with a dog in it though to be fair. Fun enough bedtime read.
