"I feel like I've come home to the place I'm supposed to be".
"The reason I want to chase devils...is because I can't think of it as something that doesn't affect me. And that is probably because I need to know about this place, this darkness. I feel like I'm chasing after my own fleeing self. And I've come to this place any number of times. I feel how familiar it is in my very bones. That's right I've been here since the beginning. The shadows and the light exist in the same place. There are devils and humans there. This...is perhaps the place where I most belong."
very much a filler book and not necessarily in the best way. but midori is the ULTIMATE wingman in getting her son and his gf to bang 😭 the sheer absurdity and embarrassment of it all lmfaoooo
Well I blew through vols. 1-10 in a few days. Infinitely better than Tokyo Ghoul. I almost forget it’s a manga sometimes bc of the complexity of the story and the depth of the characters that the author is able to create in relatively few pages. I think I’ll wait for the next volume bc I really like reading all the bonus/unpublished filler. Not sure when it’ll be available in English, though. Maybe August ;-;
Another series where my review or my read list disappeared? Anyway this volume was really good especially since the main characters were separated and the story was getting slow at first but now it's speeding up again and getting to the point, hopefully it gets wrapped up with a decent ending. There's only four volumes to go!
I finally received it! We got so much information omg: about the devils, the organisation, Anzai's parents... And my children are finally reunited!!!yes!!! The drawings/art style and quality keep getting better and better, and I'm so deep in the story...I need the next volume already!!!
This volume is full of introspection and stories from the past, thereby there is a lot of moving forward as well. It mainly focuses on our main couple, Tsukasa and Anzai, as well as Anzai’s parents, however we do see glimpses of everyone else. Anzai finally begins to realize his own parallels between remaining in control and losing control, and what that means on both an internal level and through the help of Tsukasa, his mother and her team, on an external level too. Anzai and Tsukasa are finally ready to have sex for the first time, and for Tsukasa, it’s her first time ever. I really like seeing Midori’s way of coaching both of them, not as a researcher, but as an unfortunately estranged mother figure who cares. Honestly, there’s nothing about this volume that I dislike. I feel as though it’s gone back to how it was when I picked up the first volume, though it’s developed past horror. It’s thrilling, it has some action, backstory, mystery, plotty government stuff, but most of all, it’s still an intense romance. And with all the hardships and sadness abound, everyone is finding themselves in someone else’s arms. I really can’t wait for the next volume, but I really loved this one. And I really loved the story of Midori and Tamaki, so much so that I even read it twice before finishing this volume.
We got a lot of backstory for Yuuki's parents, and our dear couple has finally reunited.
There are just so many amazing supporting characters. Kurtz has been great in all of his smaller scenes with Midori, but he really shines here as a friend to both her and Tamaki. There's no jealousy or resentment between any of them despite Kurtz loving Midori for years. He's still a friend to Tamaki, and treats him well. He's just such a good dude.
Yuuki also got to spend a lot of time with his mother, learn more about his past, and overcome/understand a number of his worries and fears.
He and Tsukasa are so precious and tender with one another. Tsukasa's always so good about gently addressing his concerns--she acknowledges them and doesn't just brush them off, but makes her feelings clear to him so he doesn't also have to worry about what she might be feeling or thinking. Now they're attempting to do The Deed...
Speaking of, I laughed so hard at Kurasawa and Kurtz's demonstration, hahaha.
Devils' Line, Vol. 10 is an absolute masterpiece of tension, emotion, and pure storytelling brilliance. This volume delivers everything—intense action, heartbreaking character moments, and some of the most powerful scenes in the series so far. The stakes have never been higher, and every page had me on edge. Anzai’s internal struggles reach a whole new level, and the way he continues to fight for control while dealing with the world falling apart around him is just so well done. And Tsukasa? She keeps proving how strong and resilient she is, making their relationship feel so real and so earned.
The pacing is perfect, the artwork is stunning, and the emotions hit hard. This volume does an amazing job of balancing all the chaos with the deeper, more emotional moments that make Devils' Line so much more than just an action-packed supernatural story. If you’ve made it this far in the series, you already know you’re in for something incredible. Five stars—this series keeps outdoing itself, and I cannot wait to see how everything unfolds from here!
This volume just explodes in everything. Anzai and Tsukasa are reunited and all charges are dropped. Another reunion that is going well is Anzi and his mother and Tsukasa is changing majors and going to ONL to see research documents on devils.
We get the Anzai past. And see the tenderness in that. (Also get to see that Anzai's mom has a blunt way of putting things.
I loved this volume. And I can't say any more than that. The sweetness. The love that is Anzai's meaning to birth and the fact that with greatness that Anzai wasn't the product of rape. And the love the main couple has is not only cute. And you see the similarities of the worries and fear tath Anzai and his father have over their devil status to their lover.
Taira runs into Kaname while jogging and it doesn't appear to be a coincidence. But that aside, the story converges on Obihiro where Yuki's mom is going to give an important lecture. But before that! We get a flashback of "How I Met Your Father" and how they fell in love. It's really sweet.
But then, the no contact order on Yuki and Taira runs out and since they're in the same location, they can finally see each other again... which takes a sudden left turn into an in depth lecture on "How to Have Safe Sex With Your Devil Boyfriend" which gets... kinky. I feel sorry for Kurtz. But hey, it's a very mature and serious conversation that makes the entire thing consensual and safe.
Okay this one was both great for character development but also full on creepy and not necessarily in a good way. There's no way of clarifying that without some spoilers so that's your warning. Tsukasa and Anzai are both at ONL with his mother, learning his history but also they're ready to take their relationship to the next level.
But rather than just have the team teach them how to have safe devil/human sex, Mom is there, giving instructions AND later watching to be sure it's safe. Um that is just too messed up. I'm wondering how much I want to see this. I mean I do like it but this is a twist I can't say I like.
Yet again I am loving the backstories here. Not only do they provide good information they are just overall great and I love them. Having his mom explain basically how he came about and being shown it in detail made my heart swoon even more for his dad. Plus they are so alike on how they handle their feelings it’s so cute. Plus considering he’s still around I’m just hoping we get to see a view of him during the current time. Also her coworkers are hilarious. Ones a complete goof/perv while the other is so wholesome and innocent. It’s a perfect duo and I love how they all interact. Plus the spice really starts in this volume so we are about o see some real nice developments soon!

"I catch them beneath the light and when I see their faces, I realize that the devil was a human all along."
Anzai learns more about his history as part of the Hybrid Plan and more about his parents. Tsukasa is continuing her research at ONL on Midori's invitation. Our main characters are learning more about themselves and fostering their own personal growth during their time apart. Two paths are on the verge of colliding again.
This volume had me screaming, crying, laughing and everything in between. I don't really have anything else to say other than Kurasawa is my new hero.😂 Fantastic as always! No notes.
Mother and son time for answers / how beautiful it is when pure love is born from tragedy and struggles / Yuuki really takes after his father in all the good ways 😭 / I can’t…. My heart is filled with emotions because of Yuuki’s parents / Yuuki’s mom is more like Taira / I’m a little girl at heart with this things, so what!? sue me! / hahahah my boy wanted the natural way of things hahaha / waaaait a minute… she’s telling even this parts to her son!? poor Yuuki’s hahah / I hope the “no killing” part is true ): / oh my, the mother in law is gaining points / oh my

Revisiting the manga after 5ish(?) years. Every thing about it is right up my alley. Supernatural-esque, “bad boy”/“dark” type male character, a bit of romance, a bit of violence.
Might be my favorite volume so far. I enjoyed everything with ONL and all the character development that is happening.
All the way back on volume one someone left a review saying that it felt like this series was going to be an elaborate setup for vampire bondage… they were correct! 😂 I don’t hate it, though. It’s almost refreshing how directly it’s handled rather than dancing around the subject. I especially love how frank Midori is with Taira leading up to the moment.
Definitely more detail than I think we needed, but alright. I enjoyed getting to know about Anzai's parents, probably the best part of this installment. I have to admit, it's been awhile since I've read the previous books so I forgot some characters existed until they appeared.
