The problem with being born with expectations is the failure to live up to any.
Christopher might be the antichrist but taking over the world and leading the minions of darkness sounds like a lot of work. And while slacking is a sin his supposed dad Lucifer approves of, his lack of goals is a problem.
Personally, Christopher would rather just work hard enough to make ends meet—and maybe buy a six-pack. But fate is conspiring against him. For some reason the dead won't stay in the ground, apparently he's not an only child, he has sisters and this hot chick he met in the cemetery refuses to sleep with him.
It’s time for this lazy prince in waiting to rise to the occasion and embrace destiny—or at least make out with it.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
This book was funny but omfg I did not see that cliffhanger coming! I hope this doesn’t become like Princess of Hell where the heroine got a harem. I hope Christopher just has one true love and I’m hoping it’s Isobel.
Dear author, please do not put cheating/ow/om in the next book...
I bought all of the books in this series. (Over 20 books, spans 4 different series by the author) and I've read two so far. They are not my cup of tea. I dont believe in returning books i dont enjoy for a refund. So i guess, get ready for the next 20 or so reviews to be negative.
I hate the writing style. I hate these characters. I'm annoyed and I really only soldier on because of the crippling anxiety I get when i dont finish something.
So here is book one of the series. The H, a totally lazy prick. He's a womanizer and for pretty much the entire book, minus ONE SCENE, he is awful to his love interest. Our h, is ughhhh. I cant stand weak women against "charming" men. This H isnt even chamring, he is foul and so full of himself. And she swoons?
Lol. Read slowly or you'll miss all the fun. First in a trilogy. An entertaining, light-hearted, tongue in cheek, silly, twisted, paranormal romance. From an author with a huge imagination. 🤣👹💋 3.5 stars.
This series is set in the same world as Eve’s Princess of Hell and Welcome to Hell series. That being said, you do NOT have to have read either series before starting this series (this actually takes place prior to either series, per Eve’s Facebook post). This story stood alone just fine. You will get to meet Muriel, Bambi and Lucifer from the other series. There is also Isobel who had a small part in Wickedest Witch, (which sadly I haven’t read yet)
So Christopher is raised on Earth as part of a cult. His mother has always treated him special, but not like most mothers treat their kids special. Christopher has been told that he is the Antichrist (I guess that is pretty special).
So Chris has grown up believing that he is the son of the devil, but everyone knows that the devil only has daughters. Isobel is a witch. They meet in a cemetery that Chris is staying at as the groundskeeper and grave digger. Isobel wants to say her respects to a friend. Only then zombies start to rise. As in a lot of zombies, and Chris and her fight them off. How can things not turn into a relationship after a meeting like that.
This is a really fun story, exactly what you would expect from Eve Langlais. It is full of laughs. I really enjoyed meeting Christopher and Isobel and seeing how they come together. There is a cliffhanger ending. I’m really interested in seeing where Eve takes the Hell’s Son series. I’m such a big fan of the Lucifer books. I just hope now that Chris has finally met his son, we will get more of Lucifer in the next book (there will never be enough Lucifer in any book for me).
Narration This is my first book with Tyler Donne. I really liked him. He was perfect for Christopher. He really knew how to bring out the humor in Eve’s story. I also thought he did well with the female voices in the book. There are some great accents in this book. I was a little surprised by Lucifer’s voice. It wasn’t bad, but just not what I was expecting. I haven’t listened to any of the series that feature Lucifer before, so this is my first time hearing him. Again, not bad, just caught me off guard at first.
**Audiobook was provided to me by the author. This review is my opinion and was not requested or provoked in anyway by the author.
I loved this book, the Hell series always get me laughing, Lazy Son was no exception. After reading this book I had to reread the Wickedest Witch. Lazy Son had me laughing and gasping this is another great tead by Eve Langlais.
I LOVED THIS!!!!! The first book in the new hell series, this first one is set before the princess stories, the wickedest witch and the welcome to hell series. And I loved every second of it. Chris is so Lucifers son, and Isobel, who we meet briefly in Wickedest Witch, is awesome. I giggled, full on laughed and sat mouth agape at the antics these two get up to. In only minutes after meeting they've got the dead rising and attacking, then just days later they've got an entire museum coming to life and attacking. They've got the same mindsets as the rest of characters in the hell series, mainly that being a goody two shoes is overrated. I devoured this book in one sitting and did not want it to end.
Full warning though, the ending is a bit of cliffhanger and I kind of threw my phone at the end because I didn't want it over yet. I am absolutely on the edge of my seat waiting for more in this series!!
Cute, kind of tame. More supernatural than Romance Eve Langlais is pretty well known for having sex scenes. This book does not. Sex is subject much discussed but the two main characters don't seal the deal, and that works with this book. for this story, for these two people that was the right call. I enjoyed this story maybe a little more than it deserves, but Eve avoided the three things that usually make me quit a romance novel in disgust. #1 the female protagonist Isobel is not too stupid to live. she's actually got a good head on her shoulders except for her attraction to some deadbeat boozer who lives in a shack and is need of personal hygiene. Other than that Isobel comes off as pretty smart. As for #2&3 Eve adroitly sidesteps them by making this book a comedy. #2 The guy is a jerk. Here is guy is a comedic over the top jerk, and he's so bad at it that it does not rankle. #3 the girl storms off in a huff after willfully misunderstanding what was said. (why do they do that in every book? People we have the transcript right here and that's not what he said) By making this book a comedy Eve can include some otherwise tired cliches, and they sort of work instead of setting my teeth on edge. Bravo! So yeah, I enjoyed this book and I'm going to read the rest of them until is over or one of them pisses me off.

Heather's Notes Eve Langlais books can be hit or miss for me. Although I usually like more than I dislike. Unfortunately, this was not the case with this book. Both MC were not very likeable, but Isobel edged out Chris with her over the top reaction to his reluctance to get married. They have known each other for like 2 weeks. She need to get over herself. Chris also needed to get a grip, but at least his over the topness, made a little more sense. I don't really want to continue this series, but a lot of Eve's series overlap, so I will have to see if I can read some of the others without this one. If not I may skim the rest of this series.
As always Eve Langlais delivered a book with so much excitement and with humor. So this book is like our Star wars franchise so I will have to read the other series.
This story : a man approaching his 30, haven't accomplished nearly nothing in a way since his was born and bred following some kind of rules. Living to rule the world with big flames and all but he was still somehow skeptical about all his fate. About the heroine, typical non typical virgin. Yes, virgin. So in this book, hot steamy scene not so much, kick ass heroine in a way since there was a scene with dinosaur and riding it like a horse.
So I just can't wait for the 2nd book because it ended with a cliffhanger... major no so much but just hang on a cliff.
I listened to the audio CD of this book in my car on my commute, and it had me not wanting to go into work (no surprise) and also not wanting to go into the house (now that is a surprise). It had me thinking of reasons to go for a drive (not normal) and planning all my shopping trips for one day so I could maximize my car time (completely normal). Why? Because Chris and Isobel were fan-freakin-tastic together!!!! They clicked, they meshed, the craziness happened to them, around them, and they handled it like the dynamic duo they were from the start. They were confused, they were hurt, but they always gravitated to the other and I adored them, wanted to cuddle and slap them, and I am immediately diving in for more!
Have it in Audio Love all of Eve Langlais stories. She know how to take a story and make it sooo funny your laughing a lot . This book is a lot like it. Hero is Christopher. Heroine is Isabel. What happens when you are growing up and everyone tells you your Hells son. So since you believe your a Demi god you take things for granted. Meanwhile you find out Hades only had girls . So what did Christopher do . Christopher grows up in a cemetery doing work there which is perfect for Hades son. That is where he meets Isabel and Christopher is left wondering is he Hades son First time I heard Tyler and he was dead on. Loved how he did this story
It was surprisingly good. I went into this thinking it all sounded good but probably was not. Glad to be wrong. It has a good story line. It has humor. Lots of it, wich is always good in a book. It has mystery. It had suspense. And so on and so on. Lucifer ? Other books had Lucifer's that were way scarier then this one. A Dark Vader suit, really? But I get the devil can do what he wants and get away with it. I like Chris. He's funny, has character, a bit of arrogance. Okay , more then a lot. He IS the antichrist, after all. Isobel, I would love to see more of her heroïsme. Or shall we say evilness considering she is a descendant of THE rasputin ..
It took me awhile to get into this series... I was hesitant since I'm not into Muriel's. So it took awhile before I finished it But this was fun! Chris is the lazy son of....Lucifer and the Antichrist...or is he? And Isobel is a Rasputin... Huh.
It was great seeing Lucifer again in all his kookiness. And I keep thinking Isobel is that Ysabel from a demon and his witch book (their names are too similar). And Bambi and Muriel before she got her men...
Between Chris and Isobel and the confusion of everything...we have a cliffhanger!! Admittedly it's not the worst hangover ever...but still a hangover! Sadness.
Another amusing spin-off from her successful Hell series.
Christopher - get the deliberate spin on the name? - is the son of Lucifer - that Lucie doesn't know he has. and he is very lazy. A slob in fact. Least work the best is his motto.
But He does ensure that his cemetery remains safe from the nasties
and then he meets a lonely virgin and his life takes quite a twist.
An original idea and fun - riding a dinosaur? Who wouldn't want to? even if it is an unexpectedly animated skeleton.....
it took me a while to get into this book which is odd for an eve Langlais book.. I usually get sucker right in. but anyways this one was still full of laughs and action and I still really enjoyed it.. until the end.. I really hate cliff hangers... like I would much rather something get solved and there be another problem in the next book.. still Chris is hillarious and I'm excited to see what his new powers are.
4.5 YOU'RE KILLING ME SMALLS WITH THAT CLIFFHANGER stars
“Persecution happens because people are flawed and fear that which they don’t understand.”
Zombies, witches and Hell's son, oh my! Lucifer will always be my fav, but Eve Langlais has written a smexxy laugh out loud story about his son that I absolutely loved! Highly recommend!
Keeping to the series, freakin hilarious storylines, loved both leading character's personalities and their chemistry together. And even though, they ended with a cliffhanger, (which I don't like), I was more than okay for what she did, infact, I'm glad she did it, put him in his place!!
What irony on fate, though... off to read the next book!
A book that has lots of sexual innuendo but no actual smut this was pretty good. We've got witches, the son of Satan and several of his daughters and dead dinosaurs coming back from the dead.
This was funny, bloody and cheeky. It was a little slow to start with and you're left on a bit of a cliffhanger but it's a solid read.
Well, this book is a bit soft for me. It’s like the story of Romeo and Juliet along with the conflicts of their families and also of who they are as a person. It’s kinda ‘meh’ for me.
Probably it’s just me but I have read many demons & witches book but this book gives me a blank feeling.
I prefer this one to Muriel's story. My only complaint is the next one isn't out until march. I really should wait until a series is completed and binge. The character is charming in a dumb way and the relationship with Lucifer had me in stitches. Need more of this guy.

Certainly one of the biggest surprising of my reading year of 2018. I did not expect much from it, but hell I cannot help it, I really liked it. It was fucking hilarious :D
