Collecting more Golden Age super-heroic action and fun, as the All-Stars, comics' first "super-team," use their wits and their might to bring down a multitude of threats. Reprinting their adventures from the late 1940s, this handsome archive hardcover follows The Golden Age Flash and Green Lantern as they join forces with Hawkman, The Spectre, Doctor Fate and many other favorites to fight against a variety of colorful villains from one of comics' most energetic and imaginative eras, including Hollywood racketeers, cosmic criminals and a modem-day Billy the Kid.
This collection of reprints from 1948 and 1949 is okay. There are no real stories that stand out, but none that are truly awful, either. In this volume the JSA solve a mystery in Hollywood, corral a gang of cosmically powered criminals, thwart the schemes of a seemingly "Invisible" band of burglars, face off against the ghost of Billy the Kid, peer into the future of a boy named Edmund Blake and repel the invasion of the alien Fire People.
